hi here’s a super long post about why i’ve been gone uh please at least read the end because it’s important* xoxo
hey, folks. i’m sure you’re all wondering where i’ve been, and why i haven’t touched this blog in ages. i think the last time i was active here may have been, like, april or may 2020? whatever it is, it’s been a long, long time, and i’m sorry for my absence and for all the unanswered messages i left behind.
life has been very stressful and chaotic—i’m sure it’s been the same for all of us—and at some point, i kind of just. logged off tumblr and didn’t log back on for a long time? when i finally did remember this site existed, i was so overwhelmed by all of the notifications i had, i just kind of gave up. which isn’t fair to anyone waiting on a response from me, and again, i’m so sorry if you sent me something and then never heard back from me.
this blog was a safe space for me during a very dark time in my life, however. i found fulfillment in talking about things i was passionate about, and in giving people advice. though it was a bit much at times, i always find great joy in helping people. i found new safe spaces, though, and i started to recover and move with my life. i’m being treated for ocd + anxiety, i have some really amazing friends, and i’m dating one of the most incredible people i’ve ever met, so i’m in a considerably better place than i was when i started this blog. (though life is still far from perfect.)
anyways, i don’t think i’ll be coming back to this blog. if i do, i won’t be nearly as active as i was before. this blog became far more popular than i ever anticipated, and i had so many delightful interactions, and for that, i am extremely thankful. if you’ve ever interacted with this blog, you’ve made my day at some point or another, so thank you.
*this is the important part i mentioned in the title, though. one of the reasons i haven’t been active on tumblr is because my friends and i have been working on a fiction podcast. it’s called the heart of ether. it’s about a young woman trying to move on from her missing girlfriend by moving to a small forest town, only to find out there’s more to it than meets the eye. it’s a horror + mystery small town gothic podcast, and it has eldritch dirt piles, weird mold, “special dietary needs,” mitski jokes, a cat named mothman, cryptic bookstores, and more. if you follow this blog, and you like horror (or other podcasts like the magnus archives or the adventure zone: amnesty), then i promise you’ll like this show.
we just wrapped up our first season, which is twelve episodes long, so now is the perfect time to listen to it! there’s a lot of talented people involved, but i’ve been doing most of the heavy lifting with editing, writing, marketing, etc. on top of school and preparing for college. it’s the first thing we’ve ever done like this, so it’s not perfect, but i’ve invested so much time into it every day for months now, and this show truly does mean the world to me. if you would consider checking it out, i would be eternally grateful.
here’s the spotify link if you’d like to go listen.
for more information and other streaming platforms, you can check out our carrd here: x
we’re also on tumblr @heartofether ! i will be reblogging a couple of our posts from there for you all to see.
if it’s not your cup of tea, that’s totally fine. we’d really like our second season to be successful, because it’s going to be a Wild Ride, so if you do decide to listen, it would mean a lot!
thank you so much for reading this super long post. i hope you all have a lovely day, and thank you again for everything. <3
