there's something about how people talk about ableism online that feels somewhat divorced from the reality that ableism is a form of violent oppression that gets disabled people killed, assaulted, and brutalised in real life. that it causes medical neglect, abuse, and structural inequality. that disabled people are, on the whole disenfranchised. and it's not like verbal interpersonal ableism "doesn't matter" in the face of the "real stuff" because all forms of ableism contribute towards dehumanising and isolating disabled people, which in turn makes them more vulnerable to the violence i mentioned. but it's like, do you guys remember the violence exists? that it's not just people being upset over words "for no reason"? there's a glaring reason right in front of us if you bother to look
yall are so fucking weird about gnc people. a woman wears a suit and she's "conforming to the patriarchy". a man wears a skirt and he's Secretly A Trans Egg. have you considered It's Fabric
I have friends who are cis, friends that are gay, bi, pan. Friends who are trans dudes, Friends who are trans women, enby friends and friends who don't much care about the labels they use. They're all incredible, and while various parts of our identities might lead to experiences we can bond over or might be a point of contrast, I trust them all.
Don't trust anyone who tells you that transfems can only trust other transfems, that anyone else is just out to get you. It isn't true in the slightest. Isolating yourself only makes you more vulnerable to bad actors, and makes it easier to forget about the humanity and complexities of people who aren't like you. Trans people are isolated and vulnerable enough as it is. Your community is your lifeline, there's nothing to gain from cutting it up.
why are all PSAs about internet safety aimed at kids on here so goddamn mean. "you dumb fucking idiot you're gonna get doxxed and it'll be all your fault because you were stupid and posted identifying info" <- say anything else, literally anything else. as we all know, children famously respond really really well to adults shaming and insulting them "for their own good" and this never backfires or causes new problems. wait hmm what was that *receives information over my earpiece* oh no
hey bro under 18 dni bro why’s that bro let me see bro what the hell bro stop labeling serious issues as 18+ bro that’s not cool bro people under the age of 18 experience this too bro im below 18 and I’m educated on grooming because people aren’t afraid to educate me bro we should actually educate more people bro hiding this behind a wall won’t help anyone bro it’ll just make them practice unsafe things bro

No, your event is not a 'safe space' for queer kids if disabled queer kids cannot access or attend it safely.
Happy disability pride month to those with intellectual, cognitive, learning, mental, etc. disabilities. Happy disability pride month to anyone that was once diagnosed with mental retardation before the term change. There's plenty of you who remember that time.
Too many institutions stand vacant, only to have become a haunted travel gimmick. Too many buildings abandoned and not destroyed. Too many memorials long overdue. Too many have passed and lie in unmarked graves at those very sites. Too many violations of human rights. Too much torture. Too much cruelty. I mourn you every day.
As a reminder, July is disability pride month! This pride month, I want us to especially think of:
Those with long-term/worsened disabilities because of their parents telling them to just work through it/get over it/"it's not that bad"
Those with disabilities stemming from childhood abuse
Those who know that they're disabled or suspect such, but can't get it diagnosed or checked out because of their parents/guardians disapproving
Those who know/suspect that they're disabled, but won't be diagnosed or checked out because they're "too young"
Those who struggle in or had to drop out of the harsh and mostly unaccommodating school system because of their disability or disabilities
Those who were lied to or not told they were disabled growing up so they could be raised "normal"
Those who have their privacy and autonomy violated as a combination of being disabled and being a child, as both of those groups are seen as not deserving their autonomy
Those who are disabled or had their disability (or disabilities) worsened because of the school system pushing them too far
Those who feel that they can never be one of the "normal" kids and that they'll always be isolated because of their disability or disabilities
Disabled folks who don't know or didn't know much about their disability as a kid because doctors would only explain to the parents/caretakers and no one bothered to talk to you
All disabled children having to deal with the intersectuality of being oppressed by both ableism and adultism.
Happy disability pride month and please start treating children and disabled people with basic respect and dignity!! They are autonomous beings! Act like it!
I hate to sound like the fun police for a second but a lot of you very uncritically believe military imagery is cool and don’t unpack that and this makes you extremely susceptible to propaganda.
