The PT-17 was the primary training aircraft for American pilots in the early stages of their training. After initial training on the PT-17, students would transition to the more complex Vultee BT-13A Valiant for further training

This was my dad's first service trainer in the USAAF. He said that the color was all silver.

It was a complete teardown and redo. It's beautiful.
