VERY SHORT, VERY BRIEF BACKSTORY.
As the story goes, man meets woman, man and woman fall into bed, and 10 months later a child is born. It was the simple story of how Theodore Wolfe came to be. A child born from an adulterous affair between his mother, a woman who’s name he had only heard mentioned a handful of times, and his father, an unfaithful man on his third marriage by the time he was thirty-three, with 5 kids, each with a different mother.
He’s mother had fallen pregnant 2 months into the relationship — could it even be called a relationship? she was twenty-two, while he was bordering thirty, It was nothing short of a toxic relationship, like most married men, he had promised to leave his wife, promised that they could start a family, but those promises had been short lived. Theo’s mother died shortly after his birth due to complications.
It was his birth that unraveled and ultimately ended his fathers second marriage, he couldn’t keep a newborn secret for too long, when he was the only living custodial parent.. surprisingly It wasn’t his affair with his second grade school teacher that ended his third marriage, It was his addiction to alcohol, drugs and his inability to keep a paycheque. And that’s not to mention his issues with anger.
After spending the majority of his early years living in the UK, It was when he was fifteen, that child services removed him from his fathers care, after one too many visits to the A&E with broken burns, and unexplained bruises. He was relocated to the US, where he was placed into the care of his paternal grandparents, while his father came and went from his life as he pleased.
Initially, after moving in with his grandparents, things looked okay on the surface, but things were progressively getting worse. Theo became more out of control, and showed no regard for his grandparents rules, and It wasn’t long till they kicked him out, and he had no where to turn. It was months of him sofa surfing, until a one night stand who left cash on the bedside table, turned into a 10+ yer career.
As an Adult, Theo prefers to keep a distance from his father, and chooses not to have a relationship with him, and keeps the truth of what his father is really like from his older brother. So, instead he sends his father money each month.
