jemmaqueenofspace:
“I’m not telling you anything. Glare at me, torture me, try to talk me to death. It doesn’t matter.”
Ward smiled at her. “You always were the strong one.”
jemmasimmonsbiochemist:
“Exactly. Unfortunately for us, it’s heavily guarded. Fitz was looking at the plans. They should be up on the monitor if you want to look at them.”
He nodded his head and went to locate the plans. “It’s not just heavily guarded,” he commented. “There is other security measures in place --- he will have to get through the alarms.”
engineeringmonkeywiz:
“It’s better than Night-Night gun,” Fitz shrugged, looking down at the gun. “Like I said though - still a work in progress.”
“How about you just let Coulson name the weapons?” Ward suggested with a shrug of his shoulders. “I am sure he could come up with something closer to regulation.”
jemmaqueenofspace:
Jemma looked up at him. She knew she shouldn’t be, she should just finish the surgery because she knows the answer to the question about to slip from her lips. Knows the real one, no matter what lies he might speak yet… “If you could go back and live that moment over again, Fitz and I in the med pod and you with the controls… do you drop us out of the plane?”
Ward took a deep breath. That was the question wasn’t it? He knew she would never believe him that he had done everything right -- it was the right choice. They would have been dead otherwise. “It’s not that simple.”
felicitystark:
As soon as they’d passed the group, Felicity immediately put some distance between herself and Ward. “Okay. I can totally do this.” She muttered under her breath as they waited for the elevator, trying to reassure herself. She didn’t know how spies managed to do this every day without being nervous wrecks. When the elevator doors opened for them, her breathing hitched in her throat when she saw that she and Ward weren’t going to be alone in there.
This complicated things. He hoped Felicity would just go with the flow. He took a deep breath and stepped inside, holding her close to continue the illusion of an office romance. “Just trust me.” He leaned down and brushed his lips against her head. A man cleared his throat awkwardly, letting Ward know the PDA was realistic.
084-connordean:
“Yeah… Night night gun sounds like we’re giving the enemy a nursery rhyme. We’ll leave the inventing to him, but naming should not be his responsibility.”
Ward was glad to have someone someone who agreed with. “Yes,” he nodded his head. “Maybe we could use you around here.”
On the Otherside
jemmaqueenofspace:
“Anthropomorphization: something that isn’t human that has been given human traits or form.” She told him brightly. “Such as death, an immutable natural force, appearing as young woman.”
She looked at him looking at his body. “I’m afraid waiting about won’t get you any answers to what will happen to it next. We are between moments.”
“Oh,” he nodded his head as if it made sense. But she was right -- standing around talking wasn’t going to make anything go faster. “Between moments?” he asked, shaking his head once more with confusion. He moved with her though, showing he was ready to head to whatever was next as they talked.
felicitystark:
Well, that was reassuring. She didn’t even know where they were running too; not that it mattered. They’d probably get caught eventually, and then she’d be dead; and all because someone wanted to piss off her dad. She’d never really felt panic before, not even working with Oliver, because no one had intentionally be out to kill her before. But now, Felicity was pretty sure she was panicking. She was also pretty sure that running in heels sucked. “Where are we even going?” She asked, trying and failing to not sound as scared as she felt.
“A safe house,” he responded. He wasn’t going to give away details in case there were mics around listening. “Your father had it set up in case something went wrong.” He realized she was having trouble keeping up and stopped and scooped her up into his arms before he started running again. “We have to lose them before i can make my way towards it.”
A Family Arrangement
jemmaqueenofspace:
“Oh I have these.” Jemma said of her two, “But if you’d like to help get the rest…” The cabi had finally finished unloading her rather extensive pile of luggage. She looked at them a bit sheepishly, she couldn’t help that she wanted her creature comforts and that those happened to be her extensive collections of books, clothing and shoes…
Jemma grinned at his welcome following him in. “Well, I have a good feeling, and statistics are on my side.” Jemma said with hopeful optimism. Those who went through with arranged marriages were far less likely to divorce than those who married against them.
Jemma didn’t like the sound of them not being big on organization, and she frowned in thought. She liked keeping things organized, and she wasn’t going to even be on the same floor as her fiance? Well perhaps her being here would allow for some changes. Some good organized, sleeping in the upstairs changes. She would approach her future step mother about that.
“Mmmm… well I perhaps need to have a talk with your mother if she thinks I’d find anyone like you troublesome.” she smiled at Grant again as she stepped into the room that she was to call hers, for now, and took in the furnishings with a critical eye.
He grinned at the number of cases she had brought with her. He would have to come back out to get the others -- but he would have them brought in for her. He knew his mother was worried about her sharing a floor with the three boys -- especially Christian. Even their mother knew what kind of person the eldest was -- it was why Grant didn’t understand why his mother had suggested the marriage to begin with.
“I’m going to grab the rest of your things. If you need any changes -- let me know and I will make sure it gets done,” he nodded his head to give her some privacy and headed back out to the cab.
wolfintheherd:
Do you - do you think this has been easy on me? Do you have any idea how hard it was? The sacrifices, the decisions I had to make? But I made them. Because that’s what I do. I’m a survivor.

2sidesofthesamemoon:
“What makes me more important than you?” Evie then insisted, “You will! And that is unacceptable! We go together or not at all.”
She was going to get them killed. She was the mission, Ward needed to get her out alive. That was his orders. “I am not the one wanted back alive. I was sent here to find you.”
jemmaqueenofspace:
Jemma relaxed as the water grew warmer and seeped pleasantly into her bones. At about 302 K she had relaxed enough that she forgot to keep herself covered for modesty and simply laid back floating along languidly. She felt truly warm for the first time since she had left home.
When she heard him speak again she jumped remembering herself and her arms came about her protectively once more as she swam close to the glass. She considered his question for a moment. There was a lot else, but writing it out backwards was going to be annoying, and she had not seen him use any other kind of visual communication techniques so she didn’t know if he knew any… given the choice to use technology to communicate vocally she suspected he did not.
She swam up to the top of her cell and pushed against it demonstratively then looked back at him hoping he understood. if he let her at the air they could use his language.
Ward watched her and noticed her pushing against the top. He was sure he wasn’t supposed to open it. Though, she was a fish -- he doubted she would do well outside of the tank. He knew he would be taking a chance if he opened it -- but it was sure to make communication easier. Plus, what if this fish was like a whale? What if she needed air sometimes? A dead fish alien wouldn’t do anyone any good.
He took a deep breath and started looking at the switches until he found the one that opened the tank with a loud hiss, the lid opening a crack so air could get in, but she couldn’t get out in case that was a real risk. “better?”
Okay so this week has been a little crazy. Just got home from an unplanned visit back home, and now it is time re-settle lol I am hoping to get caught up on everything tomorrow. That is my goal. Also, I lost quite a few followers. Yesh. Tough crowd,.
She did as she was told, hiding her face against his chest and ignoring the awkwardness of being so close to him. She hoped the group passing them wouldn’t notice how forced her quiet giggles sounded, or how much she was trembling; there was little hope of Ward not noticing, with his arm around her shoulders.
He smiled down at her, playing the part of the doting boyfriend as they walked past the group and made towards the elevator. “I think they bought it. Now we just need to make it to the ground floor and we are home free.”
