Choices in life
Slightly related to game dev and art so I thought I might as well post it here. I recently watched a video on the subject of how to figure out what the best decision in life is at the moment, like there is some choice you can make, and everything with sort itself out and I think that type of thinking as a whole is pretty harmful.
If you’re anything like me, and you’ve ever driven a car, the first thing you immediately realize it’s not like a video game. You can’t just line yourself up on a straight road and the car just goes down it no problem. There’s always a slight drift and you’re constantly making corrections and I feel like that is a great analogy to the misconceptions that I think a lot of people seem to have with making choices in life.
I feel like some people are constantly trying to shoot for this magical angle that will keep the car heading straight down the road without ever having to touch the wheel again. As a result, when the car eventually needs to be corrected again, they start to think the last correction was a mistake and start to second guess themselves, sometimes to the point of outright stopping the car because they’re too scared to move on.
Unfortunately, the truth is that there is never going to be a right or wrong answer, and while you may over/under-correct and have to make the next adjustment sooner as a result, there is a large array of choices you can make that are all equally valid. As long as you’re alive you haven’t gone off the road yet, there’s always a chance to adjust.
That’s a solid philosophy, man

Ryoko Takahashi
Some people are just angry. It’s like their natural state. Though for a girl like Ryoko, it’s nice to think that while she’s irritable, she would look overwhelmingly cute if she relaxed and was actually having fun with something.

Ryoko has been inked. I want to make some adjustments, we need to add the background, and then do the shading and fills.
