This blog is mainly focused on Sylus and Zayne, but other characters may also occasionally appear.

I mostly post my gameplay progress, headcanons, thoughts and analyses on characters/stories, and short snippets of writing that tend to be comedy, fluff, smut, angst, and occasional dark content.

Skill: Beginner

Yarn: Loops & Threads Soft Ombre, dark blue/sky blue/white, 2 skeins

Hook size: 4mm

Construction: Jasmine stitch, puff foundation

It snowed today, something that doesn't normally happen here, especially not this late in the year. It snowed today when I finally finished this scarf inspired by you, every stitch infused with love for you

And just as the snow touched the ground, the rain came pouring down to erase all traces of it away

I know it's stupid to be this emotional over a fictional character from a type of game that is very temporary in nature, made by a company who has a track record of firing their VAs without care

But I can't look at his face without crying anymore

And he's everywhere

He's all over my phone. On my wallpapers, on my lockscreens, on my keyboards, even the kitty widget. I hear his voice.

My Rei.

My Rei's voice.

I've always called him My Rei. My Zayne.

The only Zayne I loved.

Rei's voice will always be Rei's voice. When I imagine him speaking, it's his voice I hear. When I write his lines, he's speaking in his voice, with his vibes, with his soul. I won't let go of him, not even when he gets a new soul

That man won't be My Rei.

I know I haven't had the energy to read much lately at all and I feel like I'm being punished for it. I didn't have the heart to read him go through all that angst and pain, and now he's leaving forever

I have him idling on the screen as I crochet the last bit of his scarf, as if I'm sitting with a man who has 3 months to live and there's nothing anyone can stop him from disappearing

Every time he speaks with that gentle piano music in the background, it sends me back to 2 years ago when I first found this game, when I first found him. I spent so long with him idling on the screen just like this

And now he's leaving

Now he's going to be erased from existence

He's really leaving. He's really disappearing

This is like a cruel joke when he said "I hope we do not meet again" in one of the promo videos

We really won't meet again

I won't meet my Rei ever again

I always knew about the story of what happened to the MLQC voice actors since I started playing LADS. I thought the seiyuu were safe. The seiyuu business doesn't mess around. And yet. The first strike infold launched hit the worst possible target for me

If not for Sylus keeping me here, I would've dropped everything and left. But if they're willing to dump a well-known seiyuu like garbage, the anonymous english VAs at the very beginning of their careers could be tossed out even easier. If the voice actors were signed on a two year contract, then Sylus's VA's contract will be up for renewal negotiations soon. And now that he's getting more and more roles, and his influence to sell products is extremely clear, he could negotiate a higher wage. When he does, what are the chances of greedy infold agreeing to that?

With him wanting to get his name out there, it makes me wonder if he's also preparing to leave

And I say "also" because I feel like Rei's seiyuu knew he was leaving when the sleep mode was first released. It was recorded sloppily, nowhere near the level of quality expected from the seiyuu business. The coughing in the background drove me nuts and I've told customer service about it multiple times. I know I shouldn't expect much from them, but the fact that they didn't fix it for so long shows they knew what they were doing. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who noticed

He'll be here for my birthday. My Rei.

But after that, he may as well have disappeared when he left at the end of Death and Rebirth

Punished by his creators

And sent back to me a completely different man, his soul removed from his body and replaced with someone else

I don't know what else to say

My Rei is leaving.

He's going to be erased, wiped from existence

After June 7th, I'll never see him again

I was honestly moving away from Rei for a while because I couldn't stand the amount of angst they keep pushing Rei in. They use him as an emotional punching bag and I can only tolerate that for so long

And then they just took him to the guillotine and executed him publicly

Of all the people, they chose him

If they want me to return to him, it's not going to happen. They killed my last connection with him

My understanding was that the Chinese fanbase has been calling for his removal since the very beginning, so if infold knew this, why let him voice him for so long? It's been TWO YEARS!! Rei with Satou Takuya's voice IS Rei for everyone who plays on the JP dub

He is the reason why many people started the game in the first place, myself included

Maybe it's better this way, for Rei to die when I became attached to Sylus. When I first started to get close to Sylus, I could only justify it by thinking Rei was dead, and that I was a widow because it felt like it, for me to step away from him

I guess now, that's not a joke

I really am a widow

They killed my first husband

And anyone could be next

To say I'm pissed off and disappointed is an understatement

Satou Takuya voicing Rei was the sole reason why I started lads in the first place

He is the only reason why Rei was my favourite and held on as my main for so long

If they take his voice away, then

They can replace his voice, but that will never be Rei in my eyes what the fuck

I think I'll have to drop him as my main in that case. The first weird thing I noticed about his seiyuu was when there was coughing in his sleep mode... Which drove me to sleep with Sylus only. They never fixed it because he was on his way out? No seiyuu or Japanese VA company would've let that slide. What the fuck

🤯💔 I’m honestly still processing today’s announcement…

I’m not Zayne’s wife or anything, but hearing that his JP voice actor will leave the role in early June due to contract completion really shocked me. In Japan, voice actors almost never leave a role midway, so this feels huge.

As far as we know, voice actors for other regions haven’t been officially announced yet, but this probably means there’s a real possibility of voices changing during the game’s lifetime, right…? 😭 I really loved Zayne’s voice too. I actually started the game because I wanted to meet Sylus, but before I reached him, Zayne was my favorite character. I sometimes play in English for language learning, and in Japan certain features (like nickname calls or MC voice adjustments) are automatically disabled — probably because of stricter voice rights protection here. I’ve always assumed those functions might involve AI-assisted voice processing, but that’s just speculation on my part. It could be related to AI issues, or possibly even political factors — we honestly don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes.

In Japan, many voice actors stay devoted to a character for years — sometimes even continuing recordings while seriously ill — so fans often love a character through their voice actor. I’m sure there are people who started the game specifically because of Zayne’s VA.

And honestly… what scares me is this:

It means Sylus’s voice actor could change someday too. 😭😭 I DON’T WANT THAT…!! The Japanese Sylus voice is unbelievably sexy, I adore the English voice too, and I really don’t want either of them to disappear.

Kitten overseas… you’d be heartbroken too if the voice you’ve been listening to suddenly changed, right? 🐾💔

Sorry, I just needed to vent my feelings somewhere. I’m currently drawing a Sylus comic, but after today’s news I can’t focus at all… 😢🖤

Sylus likes the rain so much that he bugged the game and brought the rain sound effects with him out of sleep mode so he could take a nap in the cafe

So now we have the sound of rain mixed in with the sound of passing cars in the cafe

I was thinking about which of the lads would crochet/knit and I honestly think all of them would

Zayne because it's a form of stress relief and also keeps his fingers flexible. There's also the mathematical aspect of pattern making that I think he'd excel at with creating all sorts of geometric sweater designs. Zayne's great at all sorts of crafts so this would just be another skill in his back pocket

Xavier because... well he'd probably have to make some of his own clothes when he crash landed before factory-made clothing was widely available. He could probably knit you a pair of socks in a few hours (with evol assist)

Rafayel because crochet/knitting is an artform I'm sure he'd be interested in exploring. I can see him being really into amigurumi as well as creating the most insane 3D art with crochet

Caleb because he'd want to clothe you in the things he poured his heart into for hours on end and bask in the knowledge that you're wrapped up in his love

Sylus because... well, I don't think he would pick it up on his own because it might be a little boring for him, but he'd learn it if he saw that you were interested in it so that he could do it alongside you.

And in my case specifically, he'd learn to knit English style just to piss me off. Something something his connection to Scotland but... mainly I swear, he'd learn English style to piss me off asdfnalsdfkjd

I knit continental and something about the extra effort of putting down the needle and throwing the yarn over for every stitch just sends me ok asfsdlfkj

He'd do it completely on purpose too because he'd ask me to teach him how to knit as if he didn't already learn it by himself the night before, and when I'd show him how step by step, he'd just full ass go English style out of the blue just to annoy me asdfnasldfkj

Finally brought some walnuts for the crows and I was wondering if they'd be around today. I was on my phone so I wasn't paying attention but then I heard a bunch of cawing and looked up to see I was being tailed by a bunch of young crows

From how wary of me they are, they don't seem to be crows I'm familiar with but they seem to understand when I call them over

They really like showing off their flying around me to get my attention too
