Don’t make me regret those words. *narrows eyes*
Regret them? You wanted to try to make a baby. Breakfast can wait, can’t it?
I did not mean right at this moment. I am in the middle of something, as you can see.

Don’t make me regret those words. *narrows eyes*
Regret them? You wanted to try to make a baby. Breakfast can wait, can’t it?
I did not mean right at this moment. I am in the middle of something, as you can see.
*She rested her forehead against his, taking a deep breath before answering* I will do my best to be patient. I love you, Husband.
You love me, huh? *he wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his folded hands at the small of her back, a shit eating little grin on his annoying face*
Don't make me regret those words. *narrows eyes*
You will, wife. I know it. *He whispers this to her, then ducks to claim her lips with his own for a moment, mostly to ease her mind* No giving up hope this time, eh? *He nudged her chin up with one of his rough-skinned hands.* Yeah?
*She rested her forehead against his, taking a deep breath before answering* I will do my best to be patient. I love you, Husband.
No, we can talk about it. I thought we could start trying again. If you want.
Yeah? You mean it? *He turned her around to face him, still holding her close* It’s your body and your turmoil. I can share it with you as best I can but…do YOU want to, is the real question. Don’t say ‘yes’ just to please me, I’ll know, you’re not as smooth as you think y’are.”
*Heti looked mildly irritated at having been disconnected from her task* I am every bit as smooth as I think I am, but I am not just saying yes just to please you. I want to have children. I want to have your children. *She picked at a bit of imaginary fuzz on his shirt, embarrassed by the tears that came to her eyes when she uttered those words*
Not dying. Just curious. You wanted to talk about…baby things earlier. Do you still want to, or should I shut my mouth?
No, we can talk about it. I thought we could start trying again. If you want.
thelionsonofdis replied to your post: *Hugs from behind* And how is my strong and virile wife today?
The sun is shining and my wife is the fairest and fiercest of all our kind. The day couldn’t be better. *He kisses her neck gently* What are you cooking?
Meat pies, but it will be a while yet until they are ready. *tilts head to look at Fili* Why? Are you dying of hunger?
*Hugs from behind* And how is my strong and virile wife today?
As good as any other day, and better than some. *leans into the hug* How do you fare, Husband?
The Hunter Becomes The Hunted: Born to Die
Balin returned with some of his herbal solution and dripped a bit of it in Fili’s mouth.
“That’s quite enough messin’ about now. Ye’d best just focus on feelin’ better alright? Drink up, there’s a good lad.” Balin’s temper had flared back down as the boys seemed to be improving. I lost every black hair left on my head to these boys, he thought with a wry little smile beneath his snowy beard.
“You just listen to Balin.” Thorin said, relief still written onto his every feature. “And heal up fast! You are needed around these parts.” He kissed them both on the forehead, Fili first, then Kili, before stepping back to give them some room and let himself calm down.
Falling back slightly from the unexpected blow, Kili’s hurt expression quickly turned into one of mischief.
“As you and Heti have very lovingly put it, ‘moron’ and ‘idiot’ are my unquestionable roles in this family. Perhaps I really do not want to be king, Fee; it would have nothing to do with being a loyal brother to you!” Kili was content to leave it at that, but Fili’s further words irked him to the point that logic and caution flew out of the proverbial window at that point. Raising his eyebrows and pulling a face of his own, he laced his voice with a hint of sarcasm,
“Fair enough, Fili, I am honored that I am now allowed to die with you. I am in complete agreement that Heti would make a better king than I…” Kili forced a neutral expression as he continued,
“She is already proficient at telling all what to do with authority, a good quality in a King, or so I am told,” he failed to maintain his neutral expression as his closed mouth curved upward to repress the laughter welling up inside. Oh, he would pay for it later, he knew, but it would be worth it.
All teasing aside, Kili soberly replied to Fili’s thanks with the quiet answer of
“Thank you for coming back to us all; truly, that is all the thanks we require.”
Heti gently held her Husband's hand in hers, and felt the fatigue slowly sinking into her bones. It made her body feel much heavier than it was, and she fought to keep her eyes open. She did not wish to fall asleep, for fear that if she took her eyes off of Fili for even a moment he would disappear.
She took a deep breath and tried to tap into that warrior part of her brain. The one that let her stay awake on watches, and sometimes for days at a time.

I admire how well you raised your children, and hope that I’m as good a mother as you.
*punches his arm* You could’ve paraphrased
Yeah, but then you’d have hit me for lying. *Grins*
I wouldn't have ever known you were lying. Probably. *tries to stay looking upset with him but can't help grinning a bit*
Good. I can be patient, then.
How is your mother, anyway? It’s been a while since I visited.
She’s the same.
Says to stop by the next time you’re so furious we can’t conceive that you can’t bear to look at me. *he puts his hands up defensively* HER WORDS. Not mine.
*punches his arm* You could've paraphrased
Aforetime it was held among the Elves in Middle-Earth that dying the Dwarves returned to the Earth and the stone of which they were made; yet that is not their own belief. For they say that Aule the Maker, whom they call Mahal, cares for them, and gathers them to Mandos in halls set apart; and that he declared to their Fathers of old that Iluvatar will hallow them and give them a place among the Children in the End.
Chapter 2, Of Aule and Yavanna, The Silmarillion
[Durin] was indeed held by the Dwarves to be the Deathless that returned; for they have many strange tales and beliefs concerning themselves and their fate in the world.
Appendix A, III Durin’s Folk, The Lord of the Rings
Some words of hope and comfort for the things to come. Dwarves never die, you see. They only travel into the far West.
And maybe, one day, they return.
Mmph. Fine. But only if you promise me you’ll tell me some day.
Of course I will. When it’s relevant, you’ll know anyway.
Good. I can be patient, then.
How is your mother, anyway? It's been a while since I visited.
