Okay so Normally I don’t voice my opinions but here we go...

*First off I don’t condone transphobia but with the Rosario Dawson situation and the allegations against her this is just a disclaimer*

With that being said (spoilers ahead)

Did we not watch the same Clone Wars and Rebels?

Like I see everyone complaining about “AHSOKA FELT OFF AND MONOTONE AND SHE DIDNT HAVE HER SIGNATURE STYLE”

Remember She’s older now!! She’s not the same young agile padawan, Not everyone’s like Yoda ready to whip out backflips without breaking their backs.

She’s obviously going to be a bit monotone?? Considering all the shit she went through and how the positivity just got drained out of her after clone wars and how she lost everyone. Would you really expect her to have the same joy filled attitude that she had when she was a teenager??

HOW IS AN ACTUAL HUMAN BEING SUPPOSED TO MOVE LIKE AHSOKA? How? Just how? That’s what made her so unique in the show, she’s had a distinctive fighting style but she was also an ANIMATED CHARACTER. The fighting and the movements are going to feel stiff! If she moved like she did in clone wars she would have been ridiculed for it because it would have looked like they moved in the prequels.

Also w h y are people so pressed on the makeup and her Lekku? Is it because you truly care about sfx or because you don’t like the actress and are trying so hard to find the worst in live action Ahsoka. Shut up and eat your Ahsoka crumbs or just don’t eat anything at all. This is why we can’t have nice things. Look past the fact that it’s a fictional alien and appreciate how the show was kind enough to include Ahsoka in live action.

I think most 45 years old would agree that you won't be moving and fighting the same way when you were 17. As for her not being happy go lucky, she wasn't like that all that much in Rebels either. She was older and more mature. And we have no idea what happened to after Ezra saved her in the world between worlds. She went back into a Sith temple who knows what she saw when she was there. It's been what 7/8 years since we last saw her. A lot of things could've made her lose more hope. I took her smile at the end showing she was starting to get some of it back.

So, in LOT’s early seasons, when the CW put out network-wide or DC-wide promos, they would include at least half of the central Legends characters, frequently all of them. On occasions when it needed to be pared down for time or logistics, they’d feature Sara and Ray, and maybe Firestorm and/or Mick. The original characters were, reasonably, chosen over newer ones. (Victor wasn’t visible in every single promo, but he was in most, and Martin was represented through Firestorm, at least). But they usually made an effort to respect the fact it was an ensemble without having LOT dominate the promo in question.

They just released a new sizzle reel, though, and the only LOT character whose face can actually be seen is Ava’s. There’s one other Legends clip, which focuses on Beebo but also features a blurry CGI Atom, and Mick’s… arm, if you make the effort to look. That’s it. No one else appears, including their top-billed actress. There’s never been another sizzle reel like this in LOT’s entire existence in which Sara doesn’t appear.

(Something similar happened two years ago, where Ava was the only LOT character who got to speak a line, but several others were at least shown.)

But, yes, keep telling me Sara/Caity is considered the face of the show and no one behind the scenes would dare ever think to push her out to promote Ava/Jes.

1. Sara’s used in the crossovers because of a combination of who plots the overarching story, and contracts. Really fucking besides the point, though.

2. If you can legitimately look at Sara’s position on the show now and tell me she’s still written as the heart of it when the writers are literally saying they don’t want to write her doing anything but propping up Ava, you’re lying to yourself, but again: not the point whatsoever.

3. “Legends is barely even on the promo…” It’s in it as much as or more than most of the shows that are going to be on hiatus until next year. Some shows aren’t featured at all.

4. *…because they don’t have a new season that’s been shot.“

None of them do aside from the ones currently airing, you knows this, right?

5. "the CW has never been good promoting the show.” Buddy, I know LOT fans really, really, desperately need to believe this narrative to explain the fact it isn’t actually well-liked and keeps losing giant portions of viewers every season, but the rest of us know this is bullshit. You are embarrassing yourselves by trying to sell the lie so hard 24/7, please stop.

6. The original post quite clearly talked about an established pattern in how they marketed LOT until recent seasons, so trying to divert this to, “LOT doesn’t get promotion” really makes not a lick of sense.

Sara's still the heart of the show when she hasn't had a personal storyline since S2. She's a blink and you'll miss her in the opening titles, she now has to share her job with her girlfriend and barley interacts with her team.

She's the foot of the team now.

I miss when the Sara Lance tag was about Sara not about her robot girlfriend. I miss seeing posts about Sara's accomplishments. Now Sara has to share her accomplishments with a robot, even when the robot did nothing to earn it. And on top of that I have to see posts about poor Ava having to watch Sara go through her many traumas. While no one gives a shit about Sara actually going through those traumas.

I miss Sara Lance. She's been missing for the past 3 years.

It's extremely bizarre that they haven't had Caity comment on "Sara's" story since it started airing but it's also telling that no one else is discussing it in the press, either.

Have I missed it? Have any of the producers been quoted in actual press about this other than the hyper-vague yet hyper-insulting early comments from before we knew what was actually happening to Sara? Have other actors, outside of that one Maisie comment that also was published before we knew about Sara's precognition and blindness? (I ask about other actors only because Caity is constantly asked questions about other people's stories.)

Literally Juliana Harkavy gave more insight into Sara's emotions when Caity guest-starred on Arrow in S7 than every single person connected to LOT has said about this "story" since it was originally announced, combined.

What Sara storyline? Sara hasn't had a storyline since S2. Oh you mean the Sara survived seeing a Fates true form, became suddenly blind and can see the future. That's the joke storyline. Haha Sara can't see what's going on sometimes, but she can walk around places she's never been just fine without using a walking stick.

This is a comedy show no one wants to see Sara's trauma about being blind and seeing the future. They want only want to show Ava's pain of having to deal with Sara being blind and taking over her leadership. While also showing Zari's trauma about losing the brother we just met this season and Astra another we really met this season dealing with her childhood trauma and John dealing with his trauma of causing Astra's trauma. This is a comedy show so those traumas fit the show. Sara dealing with any of her pain does not. That's the logic the LoT writers use and Avalance fans accept. Because as long as Sara continues to prop Ava up, call her babe and do grand romantic gestures they are happy.

I've pretty much quit watching but I've seen gifs of Sara telling Ava she saw her own death. Did Ava even try to convince her to look for another way? I understand Sara was banking on it being undone but it's a risky plan and still requires Sara to endure yet more pain and I would expect someone who cares about her to protest.

The writers have said they are not interested in writing for Sara as a character anymore. Only her relationship with Ava. Which translates to they are only interested in Ava. Sara is not allowed to have feelings, all of Sara's pain is turned into Ava's pain. Sara's "death" was about Ava stepping up as Captain of the Legends. Sara gets no POV about being blind or dying, again. It's treated as a joke while we get to only see Ava's POV about everything regarding Sara.

Caity: Can I have a storyline this season.

LoT writers: We're going to give Sara a super power!

Caity: Really? That's awesome! I wonder what kind of power I'll have.

Season starts filming.

LoT writers: Okay so Sara is going to be able to see a few minutes into the future.

Caity: Okay, that's kind of cool.

LoT writers: But she's also going to be blind, then be in a coma for an episode, then have to give the Captain role to Ava.

Caity: uh okay, but I'll still be able to show Sara dealing with being blind and having to get around with a walking stick, while having all this pressure of knowing the future right?

LoT writers: Lol, no. We'll slap some sunglasses on your face and treat it like a joke.

Why Sara Lance earned and is the best captain and a leader of the Legends

-Making plans and using her skills from the start. She helped Rip in season 1 of Legends get his head in the game and persue Vandal Savage even when he lost hope

- Being interested in her team mates and their feeling from the start.

- Sara was never a one who will run from a fight and she put her personal grieve to save the future and stop Vandal Savage

- Even though she was League of Assassins and not NASA she learned to fly the Wave rider

- When Rip disapeared she took the charge in her own hands no matter she was under estimated and was able to make difficult decisions even on the bettlefield

- She would never leave someone behind and would stend up for her own and she was never affraid from authorities for which she was officially recognized from Stein and her team as well as JSA as the captain to lead the Legends

- Sara also believed in her team, gave them possibilities to develop and use their powers and got recognition from powerful men in history for her brave and strong mind

- She was able to put the personal behind and her own trauma for the sake of the mission and lead her team no matter her heart wanted different

- She is the kind of person who will prefer a nightmare that’s real over a dream that is a lie, and defeat powerful enemies like Merlyn and Darhk

- even after she died again, killed by her own, she wouldn’t stop to believe in her new family and to give them hope and protect them.

- Sara was the one who always took difficult decissions and the consequences for them, for which she was recognised by Rip as the best captain the Legends will ever have

- She was able to hold the spear of destiny and use it’s power to save the world, although she was damaged, she was strong enough to do the right thing

- She will never leave anyone behind and will protect the innocent and take them and shiled them in her own team. Like Zari who the Time Burau and Ava wanted to put back in prison, Sara risked her life to protect her against that. And then Sara risked her only chance for relationship to save Mona, because she couldn’t agree that it’s ok to torture creatures.

I really hope Legends of tomorrow see how strong and powerful female hero and a leader they created and give her more stories and exploration and stop sidelining her and diminish her.

Until they write another character who matches these plot points I would never agree that there could be another captain for the Legends. And it is not feministic to separate one important role in 2 as if 1 woman is not enough to lead. I don’t see this happening when men are in charge and I never heard of co-captains, co-presidents, co-ceo’s and so on

Sara Lance is the only captain and leader of the Legends and she earned it.

yes, this is just insulting to the whole story and development of Sara. Not only the writers don’t give her new material and new explorations, they completely ignored her story about her magical illness, but they also diminish her by shoving other characters who just joined the team to take her place just like that.

They are not even showing Ava be a good leader. She can barely hold it together for more than 5 minutes, she gives up after one failure, she can't think on the fly and constantly need reassurance that she's a good leader. THAT is not a good leader.

Especially since they have a character that adapts to any situation calmly, including losing her sight, can think of new plans on then spot, doesn't let dying stop her from continuing to fight and doesn't need constant pep talks, she just does what needs to be done. But oh right she's become unimportant to the story the writers want to tell. They'll just use her as the love interest.
