âproject hail mary (2026) using an orange-yellow-blue color palette in the majority of its lighting, set design, and wardrobe (except for the detour to the green planet with a purple aurora) is an intentional choice potentially based on the colors of the aroace (and aro and ace) flag(s) which may have been made in part because someone on the production staff realized that a story about a guy whose life is considered lesser explicitly because his relationships do not follow an amatonormative hierarchy, structured specifically to show that it is NOT romance which brings out the best in him but the love of/for a friend who similarly forgoes amatonormative expectations, and who is shown to be happy and fulfilled at the end for that very reason might be extremely resonant with aroacesâ is a sentence which makes you sound like an insane person until you realize that project hail mary (2026) is a lord & miller production and those are the same guys who did this

yes to a book about finnick's games, but âď¸ from mag's pov
if we ever get another hunger games book i really want to see a games from a mentor's perspective. we've already seen 4 games from a tribute's pov, i need to know what kind of political dealings are happening outside the arena
as cool as a book about finnick's or johanna's or anyone else's games would be where are my commander paylor fans at?? i want to know the story of the games behind the woman who would one day become president of panem
(not to mention that she's from district 8 and we don't know that much about that district so there's plenty of worldbuilding potential we could learn, but then i also know suzanne wouldn't miss an opportunity to give us more heartbreaking backstory about bonnie and twill)
Bonnie and twill walked so that Lucy gray could run in terms of mysterious unconfirmed fates
Reading Mockingjay as an adult is extra devastating because. Of course the plucky teenager and her ragtag friends aren't going to sneak into a government building to kill the president with a bow and arrow. That's absolutely ridiculous. It's the kind of thing that's only possible in the kind of propaganda that Coin developed. But she's so good at it that in some ways she tricks the reader into thinking that's the kind of story this is, too--even after 3 books reminding us that pretty much everything that Katniss does the second she volunteers is manipulated by adults pulling strings to make propaganda in some form or another.
Peeta: I'd like to wake up with you every day for the rest of our lives.
Katniss: I wake up at 5am every day to go hunting.
Peeta: I'd like to see you at some point every day for the rest of our lives.

Not Haymitch being the legal guardian of Katniss in Capitol and District 13.
In mockingjay,
Haymitch is annoyed about Katniss ripping off her earpiece, and he is showing her different PERMANENT earpiece option as a threat.
He specifically says, " I will AUTHORIZE them to surgically implant this transmitter into your ear".
Authorize, not ask them or tell them but AUTHORIZE.
That imples he has had to NOT authorize previous District 13 demands. Just like in the Capitol with breast enhancement surgery.
Few pages back, Asterid says how she didn't know Katniss was going to 8 till she was already gone. And Katniss goes, I'm sorry I'll ask them to clear everything with you.
And asterid replies, "Katniss no one clears anything from me".
Asterid is not Katniss' Legal Guardian anymore, Haymitch is. He has been running around for god knows how long keeping her safe and sane.
The I wonder is he the reason Katniss got discharged from the hospital while Finnick stays in a drug haze?
Is he the reason they leave her be when she doesn't follow schedule?
Is he the reason they let her hide in pipes and closets?
And I'm reminded of lil Haymitch taking care of even littler children during his games. Wondering why they all come to him. And he's fails to keep any one of them alive.
Except Katniss. That's a daughter thrusted to him. And he's trying so fucking hard to not let her die too.
I'm gonna go cry now
#why do all the little ones stick to me
In Mockingjay, Katnissâs squad was called squad 451. Like the book Fahrenheit 451°.
Plutarch Heaveansbee, the man who had a huge ass library, and libraries were considered RARE, named them after a book about censorship.
Plutarch is such an interesting character, the fact that he was trying to stop the games for at LEAST 25 years. And he was so devoted it makes you wonder why he even cared.
Honestly the "but Peeta wanted kids so bad" line from the Mockingjay epilogue is really funny to me because for three books Katniss has been projecting her desire for children onto a guy who hasn't really ever verbally expressed any interest in having kids, so I do genuinely think the whole "kids vs. no kids" debate happened entirely internally for Katniss and one day she just went "ok, you win, let's have kids" and Peeta's at the kitchen table like"?????? Ok??????"
It wasnât just another sweet romantic declaration. He knew what it was like and he was not only scared of losing her but he was also scared of what that would do to him đ That scene was so significant in so many ways, now Iâm even madder that it was deleted đ
Oh god honestly I most immediately thought of Jemma at Hydra & Jemma on Maveth when he said this and it didnt even occur to me that he LITERALLY LIVED A LIFE WHERE SHE DIDNT EXIST and has the EFFING MEMORIES of that terrible horrible reality. God dammit this hurts.
