Easy Prosperity Altar

I recommend creating a prosperity altar. Get a tray or plate and throw your dollar bills and spare change into it every day or whatever amount you feel like donating. You can place on the plate along with the money a pair of lodestones, a whole nutmeg, foreign and novelty coins, prosperity crystals (jade, aventurine, citrine, pyrite), and just about anything that you associate with prosperity. 

Burn a small candle /tealight dressed in prosperity oil (something easy is orange peel, cinnamon, and mint in olive oil) every day on the plate. You can sprinkle prosperity oil on the money too. For one month continue collecting money on this plate and blessing it with intention, energy, prayer, what have you to train the money to go out into the world to return the money to you 3 fold (or 10 fold if you put further effort into it). 

After one month (New Moon to New Moon) this money can be spent. Use it for something useful that will improve your life or the lives of others. Repeat every month. To detox/uncross your money wash your money and place it into the sun to dry. Run a hot steam iron over the dollar bills to make them crisp. This money can then be placed on the plate with the rest.

Quasar Banishing Spell 🌌💫

“A quasar is believed to be a supermassive black hole surrounded by an accretion disk. An accretion disk is a flat, disk-like structure of gas that rapidly spirals around a larger object, like a black hole, a new star, a white dwarf, etc. A quasar gradually attracts this gas and sometimes other stars or or even small galaxies with their gravity - these objects get sucked into the black hole. When a galaxy, star, or gas is absorbed into a quasar in such a way, the result is a massive collision of matter that causes a gigantic explosive output of radiation energy and light. This great burst of energy results in a flare, which is a distinct characteristic of quasars.”

When banishing objects, it’s never a bad idea to fill the leftover void with positive energy.

This spell is designed to banish negative energy into the supermassive black hole that is generally coupled with a quasar and invite positive energy using the brilliant light emitted from a quasar.

Ingredients:

Visualization

Stardust powder

Black Candle

White Candle

Onyx

Clear Quartz

Instructions:

Sprinkle stardust powder around the wick of your candles and light them

Hold the onyx in your left hand to represent the supermassive black hole, and hold the quartz in your right hand to represent the quasar 

Close your eyes and visualize the energy you wish to banish being absorbed into the supermassive black hole (onyx)

Then, visualize positive energy being emitted from the quasar (clear quartz)

Open your eyes, and discard the onyx however you wish but store the clear quartz in a safe place

Snuff out your candles

Some of us don’t have the time to take a ritual bath, clean our entire space, and cast a lengthy ritual all at once, and that’s okay.

Some of us don’t like to speak out loud or chant our spells, and that’s okay.

Some of us are very uncomfortable being nude or in robes while performing rituals or spells, and that’s okay. 

Some of us can’t afford the gems, the herbs, the candles, or many of the other materials that are needed for modern spells, and THAT IS OKAY. 

You do not have to do anything that you cannot or do not want to do when it comes to magick. 

Because magick does not come from without, it comes from within.

And magick will always be its most powerful when you feel safe, comfortable, secure, and when it comes from the heart.

Wise Woman sugar scrub

I wrote this little blurb about a sugar scrub I really like. I personally admire the qualities of the cunning folk and wise women of lore and wanted to help myself embody those qualities. After looking into how to do it, I liked the scrub method best. I chose each oil and ingredient based on its correspondences (and my own personal feelings about each ingredient).

Ingredients •little jar •white, blue, or purple ribbon (optional!) •sage* (for wisdom, longevity, protection) •rosemary* (power, healing, etc) •lavender* (peace, protection, relaxation) •sugar •salt •carrier oil (I like olive, because I’m dry af and also because of its connotations with wisdom)

*If you can add these ingredients as herbs, cool. If not, it’s cool (I use the essential oils! Just 2-3 drops of each, though)

1) we are going to want to mix 2/3 sugar to 1/3 salt together in your jar! Get that all good and mixed, focusing on embracing the properties of each ingredient. 2) Add yourself some carrier oil to that lovely mix. Focus on embracing the properties of the olive oil as you mix it. Let your mind wander as you mix: what defines a wise person to you? How can you embrace those ideals in your life? 3) Then add 2-3 drops of each oil, while meditating on why you’re adding each oil (sage, for wisdom. Lavender, for peace. Rosemary, for power.) 4) As you mix the ingredients together, visualize the flow of your energy swirling into the scrub, activating it. I like to chant some scripture over my mix while I do it, like Proverbs 3:13 or Proverbs 4:6-7. 5) When you finish mixing and close it up, I recommend tying a little ribbon around it, A) for a reminder and B) for the cuteness factor. And you’re done! 😊

Using Soda in Witchcraft

Sometimes you don’t have the perfect kind of water to do the job. Fortunately, you can substitute in a soda and it’ll do the trick.

Coke:Use to break down a barrier or disintegrate something. Good for curses/hexes/removing anything.

Pepsi: Use to “Sweeten” someone up, butter them before asking them of something. Good for offering due to high sugar content, making it sweeter than Coke.

Mountain Dew: Give a spell a jolt of energy/power.

Ginger Ale: Settle an argument, calm something down. Also good for grounding yourself, since it comes from a root.

Root beer: Also good for grounding. Use in a mixture to add the element Earth to your spell.

Cream Soda: Use as a replacement for vanilla extract, good with love-related spells and money.

Orange Soda: Good for love, luck, and divination. Drink before/during divining.

Grape Soda: Use to add a “sour” note to something. Good for hexes, curses, etc.

I really love the aesthetic of urban witchcraft so much just like the sigils drawn with sidewalk chalk to make whoever steps on it happier, flowers from the neighbors used in spells for protection and happiness, dancing in the streets with children when it rains, I just I love urban witchcraft. -Asher
