Today, November 20, is the Trans Day of Remembrance, a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia.

We honor those who found the courage to be true to themselves in the face of transphobia.

Although I am not trans myself, day in and day out, your stories have given me the courage to live life to the fullest and not let adversity and homophobia be my downfall.

Those whose lives were taken shall never be forgotten for they are still among us. They are the very foundation of our community. We are not just a collection of random queer individuals. We have come together with a purpose. There is still a long way to go. We must look up to our trans brothers and sisters who were true to themselves despite being condemned, hated on, and taken away from us, and draw courage from them.

Violence and transphobia will never win. Community, truth, and acceptance shall prevail.

In your footsteps of truth and courage I shall follow. Now and always.

Thank you.

How the hell are we supposed to fight God?

The whole first half of this episode, Dean was fighting so hard to say nothing changed. He was trying so hard to say that everything was just like it was at the time he made those fake i.d.s. But everyone kept reminding us that that simply wasn’t true. Sam, the sherriff, the werewolf brother. It was a running joke, but I think it cut deeper for Dean. Every hesitation that the photo on the i.d. is him is a step further from being able to deny everything that’s happened. Even Dean himself proved he’d changed when he took a more parental role with Ashley rather than trying to get with her.

As the episode progresses, it gets harder and harder for Dean to fight for the past.

“He’s exactly where he belongs.”

And you can just feel the tension when Ashley says she wishes everything was planned out for her. Dean knows now that’s what is happening and, oh man, he wishes he could be back in his 20s, hunting without a care in the world. Hunting because he thought he had a choice in the matter.

Near the end of the episode, Dean finally admits that he and Sam have changed. That time has passed.

“...angel blade, you upgraded.”

“Lady, you have no idea.”

It’s a simple line, but it speaks volumes.

When Lilith returns, and they get thrown back into the wringer with someone that was once their greatest enemy, he finally realizes literally nothing is the same as it was all those years ago when hunting was so much simpler.

Lilith changed all that when her death broke the final seal, and isn’t it just perfect that she’d be the one to remind them that nothing will ever be the same.

not to be That Person but the fact that hozier is one of the only musical artist that REALLY, and i mean really, uses his platform for good. during “nina cried power” last night, he projected images of people fighting back like in the women’s march, and those standing up to their governments. during “take me to church”, he pulled out a pride flag, and made everyone feel so seen and safe. before singing a new song off his album, he went on a rant about issues WORLDWIDE, not just in one country. i love and appreciate how vocal he is about what he believes in and makes a space safe at his show for all ♡

It’s Meep! Meep is a bit of a celebrity in the axolotl world. She is believed to have a form of dwarfism and is not significantly overweight, although she looks it especially in this photo.

The owner is a well-known and experienced handler who has four other axolotls that are way more… axolotl shaped lol. But she is healthy, not being overfed or suffering due to poor husbandry.

Listen, my parents installed a lock on my door so I could lock everyone out of my room if I wanted to at sometime around 8 years old. They had a key of course for safety but they’ve never had to use it and they’ve never used it when they didn’t have to.

I was allowed full access to any books, movies, and internet I wanted fully informed about our family beliefs and practices but I was given no supervision once I reached about 13 because my parents trusted me to stick to the rules or not as I felt and come to them if there was anything that I had questions about.

As long as I said where I was going, who I was with, and when I was going to be back and then phone if anything changed I was allowed to do pretty much as I pleased from 13 onward.

I moved back in with my parents after university and the first conversation we had was my dad telling me that if I felt like they were treating me like a child to please tell them because they had no intention of doing so.

I still live with them and I’m comfortable here as an adult. When I eventually move out again, which I feel no rush to do because I feel respected and given more than enough elbow room, I will probably talk to them often if not everyday. Because they’ve always respected my privacy and my autonomy both physically and emotionally. If you want an independent and fictional child trusting them and giving them their space will do you many more favours than not.

put a passcode lock on our pantry so we couldn’t eat without permission

regularly checked our internet browsing history

shut off the internet at regular intervals, including when i needed it for university homework

did monthly checks of our bank statements and would confiscate money if they didn’t approve of our activities

in response, i went behind their backs and opened a new bank account, got a secret job, bought my own groceries, and used the wifi from the school across the street. they didn’t succeed in disciplining me. all they did was force me to distance myself from them.

your children are not your property. they are human beings, and they deserve basic human rights.
