This might be my favorite sentence in the whole English language. If you knew nothing about English (language, culture, food) it would sound like complete gibberish. But instead, it's perfectly informative and evocative. (Looking for a super spicy apple cake, and came across this gem in Darina Allen's 'Forgotten Skills of Cooking')
