dental care - yeeun

With how many things Wonshik was involved in even while on summer vacation, it was a bit rare for him to have an outlandish amount of spare time. However, today seemed to be one of those days. Until he remembered. Yeeun’s dentist appointment. He always went to those with her, without fail. Even if it was just a simple cleaning, Wonshik was her dental buddy. A heavy sigh passed his lips as he rolled out of his bed and dragged himself to the bathroom to get ready. He felt particularly tired today, but if he didn’t show up, he wouldn’t hear the end of it. Thirty minutes later, he was finished, dressed up in a pair of skinny jeans and a loose t-shirt. All he could do was hope that Yeeun was ready when he decided to plop back down in his bed and ring her.

Tapping away on the piano keys in orchestra was usually therapeutic to him, using melodies to push away the stress he was feeling. He wasn’t all that bad at it either, usually receiving praise from his music instructor. However, that was not the case today. Lately, Wonshik had been feeling like he was suffocating, like he just wanted to explode. Hiding wasn’t easy, especially when his true self was so different from the facade he was putting up. He always concerned himself with things he could not fix, at least not at the time, or things that didn’t necessarily involve him but something he cared about and it was really affecting how he was playing. Add all of that onto the stress of trying to keep his grades up so that he wouldn’t get an angry phone call from his father and he had some serious issues playing out in his head.

Once he finally thought he was getting the hang of it, he’d miss a few keys and immediately berate himself for it by stopping and cursing under his breath. Wonshik didn’t even WANT to look up at his teacher in fear that he would be met with an intimidating gaze, which in turn would only mess him up even more. The more this went on, the more scared he felt. He didn’t want to disappoint, not even for the smallest things, that was one of his biggest fears. His body was slowly beginning to tense up and tears were threatening to rise up and spill from his eyes but he held them in, continuing to play despite his mess-ups becoming more frequent. Eventually, he just fully stopped and pulled his hands from the keys, placing them in his lap as he prepared for the scolding that was sure to come.
