Awhile back, our footprints in the snow became patterns; figure eights in your eyes, But infinity in mine Now The crescendo between our bodies swirls down the drain, as our toes wiggle on the cold tile floor Blood pools on the floor, beneath our necks and between our lips  Two weeks, eighty-five open and closed doors, four teary eyes, thirty-three hours of lost sleep  and all of us  Time distances itself from our outreached hands as we crawl back into bed and pretend that the snow, the water, the blood, will never disappear In the middle of the night,  I abandon our slumber to look at everything once more It’s all so much more beautiful when it’s messy

I’m getting by on brilliant masterpieces flashing behind my delicate and ponderous eyelids, Seeking the farthest things from this, and you.

The piano keys bicker night after night and you don’t even stay up to listen,

I watch the white lines blur together and it reminds me of other white lines I stayed away from all these years.

Home and I are playing hide and go seek. I counted to ten and now I’m convinced I’ll never find my way again.
