I made a cover version of Something I Can Never Have, by Nine Inch Nails. I've been trying to write music for a project of mine, and out of the 5 songs that are planned, I'd only written 3 of them before I got stuck. So, I figured it would probably be a good idea to take myself through the process of recording something that resonates with me emotionally, in the hopes that it can help get me un-stuck from my writer's block, which is why this cover now exists. It remains to be seen whether or not that worked, but at least I got a video out of it!
Solid Snake encourages you to lock in for school
I watched Mickey 17 yesterday and then said stuff at a camcorder
probably been done before but idc
Tried my hand at recording a cover of Way to Fall by Starsailor, off the Metal Gear Solid 3 soundtrack. Love this game, and love this song!
Lately I've been recording covers of depressing songs whose cover versions are, at this point, just as famous or more than the original. I thought about bucking that trend, and then decided nah. I really like both the Gary Jules version of Mad World and the original Tears for Fears version. The Gary Jules version has this kind of defeated, hopeless quality to it, and the Tears for Fears version conveys what it's like to mask your depression. I wanted my version to feel a little more like a panic attack. Whether or not I succeeded is up to you, but I hope you enjoy it!
This song has been resonating with me a lot lately, so I decided to actually record a cover of it. And I hadn't really thought of it at the time I recorded it, since I was just wearing my work clothes, but being in all black makes me think of Johnny Cash and his version of that song when I look at it now.
I wanted to take a break from all the doomscrolling and learn a piece of music from a movie about desperately trying to avoid a near-certain nuclear apocalypse. Terminator music is pretty.

I was feeling too happy recently, so I learned to play Promise (Reprise) from Silent Hill 2, and that put a stop to it realfuckingquick

Piano cover I recorded of Theme of Solid Snake from Metal Gear 2! I've been a fan of this series for a long time, but only recently played this game, and what a treat it was to hear all the great music in it for the first time! I'm trying to learn more music from this game, but I figured I'd start the same way the game did.
