kinda wish I had taken a photo of these before, but I’ve been doing some visible mending on my clothes recently :) the fashionable distressing had turned into slightly less fashionable gaping holes lol
thought it would be fun to try and continue the tree print onto the pants themselves to make it look like they were growing out—I’m not terribly good at embroidery bc I don’t do it very often but I think it turned out well!! yay :) I left some of the frayed edges in bc I liked the look, and I’m pretty happy with that decision \o/
IF U FEEL LIKE A DEMON IN THE WORLD
been meaning to share these mittens? fingerless gloves? I made this winter (I finished one in like ... december and one in march so I had one cold hand and one warm through the coldest months)
and because I know yall freaks like to see floats
all secondhand odds and ends of yarn, all protein-based fibers. the green I believe is alpaca and the pink is a silk blend. I think everything else is normal sheep but I'm going off burn tests more than anything
this was all for you
Vintage mittens that have been darned
Love knitting lace bc even though you're knitting with like, thread, and it's very slow you can periodically stretch it out and see all the new patterns emerging

This weave is done! Another krokbragd wall hanging done in colors from a pride flag, in this case the lesbian pride flag. While I was researching the history behind the colors of this flag, I learned how relatively recently this flag was introduced and about its many predecessor flags.
This one is a little shorter than the others in my series of pride colors woven using traditional krokbragd motifs, which makes it look more flag-like, but I like the gradient and the longer fringe quite a bit. All the pride krokbragds will be posted together when and if I ever finish them :)
have I shown off this cardigan wip yet?
and look at the buttons I got for it...
The Plankton Project: Living in Light and Dark by Lindsay Olson.
"This project makes visible the invisible denizens the plankton, a diverse group of ocean drifters (fish larvae, squids, phytoplankton, copepods, crustaceans, salps, and jelly fish) that occupy the top 200 meters of the ocean. This diverse community form the base of the entire food chain for the world’s oceans. Using antique silk kimonos, cottons, embroidery and beading, this work sheds light on a hidden world and reveals their dramatic daily struggle to survive. As these imperiled organisms struggle with rising sea temperatures and increasing ocean acidification, the fate of our oceans is intimately tied to their survival and ultimately our own."
