This was my piece for the @aa4zine2026 ( that is available for free download here) !! Thank you to the organizers of this project for graciously letting me complete this and be a part of such an amazing zine for one of my most favorite games of all time🙏

This was a very ambitious work for me that I've always wanted to try doing, and I thought Vera Misham was the perfect character to attempt this for. I had to use all my tricks and learn new ones to pull this off 😭

I have put together a documentation of the progress with commentary below the cut if anyone was interested in how this piece came together:

The final photo (with an edited nail polish bottle) would then be processed on Photoshop, in which I had to work as fast as I could before the deadline cutoff— I literally had to frantically export and email the link to this picture with only minutes remaining 😭!! It was stressful but it worked out in the end 👍

A lot of people have told me they were impressed by my piece and even some say it's their favorite from the zine. That is very flattering!! I'm glad my hard work paid off. I'd love to create more fanart in this style within the future.

Yusuke's 17th birthday. January 28th was during the third semester. Yusuke is back "home" with that man in a world that pretends nothing wrong happened in that shack. This isn't much different to when the abuse was happening.

It's not very likely Yusuke Kitagawa had the happiest birthday in those circumstances.

and past the second one is my hyper-specific, niche, self indulgent, non-metaverse, "genderbend" au. Kitagawa got kicked out into the streets during her teens and grew up to be very jaded. and also a nonbinary woman. Akechi grew past her detective prince era & cooled off from being an intensely neurotic teenage girl to eventually figure out shes transmasc butch. t4t akekita yuri ftw
