For over 5 years I've been following this band of brothers called the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. In 2011 I stumbled across an #album called Bulletproof Brass that had a Optimus prime made of brass instruments on the front cover. Needless to say I immediately copped it. Fast fwd to 2014 and their music has been a cornerstone for the inspiration behind #intergalactic #soul to extent that two of the most iconic pieces in the #exhibition have direct quotes from a song they did. For the first time for as long as I've been keeping track they performed in #charlotte but we were installing work for the exhibit so we were unable to attend. Longtime supporter, mother and morale compass, Lisa Brockington went to the performance and showed them our work and invited them to the show. They weren't able to attend due to a recording session and tight scheduling; however, they sent us an autographed #vinyl as nod. This is one of the illest moments our careers. I just want to thank everyone that supported us and lifted us up. We'll keep working hard for ya'll. 👊🏾 #art #jazz #hiphop #gallery #exhibition #artist #community
