But it's too late, baby, now it's too late Though we really did try to make it (We can't make it now) Something inside has died And I can't hide and I just can't fake it
Lois Lane rage-baiting Superman, questioning everything, having a conspiracy board presentation to her boss, piloting a spaceship is so kickass and having the “You always wanna see the beauty in everyone that you met and you want to take care of the world. But who’s looking after you? (I will.)” dynamic with Clark Kent and saving his martyr-ass IS SO FIRE. Her character and relationship with Clark had me smiling so goddamn wide.
i could write an essay of all the things i loved about the new superman movie but him saving that squirrel was such a highlight to me. it stands out because it’s just proving the point that to clark all life is valuable. that squirrel wasn’t anyone’s pet. and clark certainly didn’t save it for any attention. he saved a small helpless animal because life is precious.
Something I really loved in the new Superman that I haven’t seen anyone mention:
When that building is falling down over the bridge, Superman is saving one woman in a car. Usually in superhero movies or TV procedurals with emergency services, if it’s a woman in a car she also has a child or a crying baby to “raise the stakes” and make you care. But for this Superman, and in the context of this movie, it’s enough to just be a woman alone in a shitty car that won’t start right. She doesn’t need to be a mother for the stakes to be high enough that Superman uses his body to stop an entire skyscraper.
It was small, but it felt really powerful to me the moment I saw it.
imagine youve had superpowers since you were a kid which make you nearly indestructible so that only giant alien monsters or special rocks could cause you pain until you meet this fucking dog with the same powers as you and hes cute but hes rowdy and he loves to jump on you and push you and drag you around and it hurts so bad but you cant get rid of him because he belongs to your cousin who grew up on a planet with a red sun so shes used to feeling pain and loves it when the dog gets rowdy with her so you have to put up with this fucking dog who keeps jumping at you and ow ow ow krypto stop ow krypto please ow krypto
watching this scene in the theater was INSANE :’)

I can vouch personally for the validity of this campaign, as well as GazaVetters (#6 on the list). They urgently, URGENTLY need your donation.
If you are unable to donate, at least reblog and spread it so it may reach people who can afford to. Any inconvenience these might cause you is nothing compared to what Ghada and her family are going through. My friend’s family could die tomorrow. They could be dying right now. Every moment I’m not speaking to Ghada, there’s a possibility that she’s already gone. So when I ask you to reblog this, I’m asking you to understand how little effort it takes to potentially aid in some way to save 14 lives, people living through a nightmare most of us can’t even begin to imagine. Your action, however small, can be part of easing it.
