Mysore Start Times...
Mysore start times November 2015 onward...
As many of you know already, or have noticed on our schedule, we've made a few subtle but powerful shifts in our morning program I wanted to briefly clarify. We often say, "ah this space feels so good, or i love our practice space!" and it does! yes... I am very glad many of you feel that way. but why? is it the paint? the wood floors? the essential oils? well, perhaps that entertains the senses a bit sure... but for it to sustain our ongoing practice? nah.... its more than aesthetics i assure you. Ive traveled and studied in mysore rooms all over the globe, all of them very different, some huge, some tiny. In some, the walls are so thin the trucks outside rattle the altar bowl, some have carpet wall to wall to catch our... sweat. hmm.. some smell like pizza others like bacon from the restaurants' below. I've been in drafty gymnasiums, and basements, no windows, and too much natural light. and, ive had spectacular practice in all of them.
The accumulated individual effort given freely day-in and day-out in the same space, is extremely powerful, healing, & totally inspiring energetically. add to that, the alchemy that presents when teacher and student are working in harmony, and you have a undeniably beautiful room. a powerful room, a healthy, saatvic, balancing room in which to explore. it is each and every one of us that makes a space feel, AMAZING. and when we are all there together? at the same time? pure magic.
So, despite this mysore practice being coined all too casually... " self-Led", You are not actually alone. yes, you can take to the practice anywhere at any time, no question... but Hearing the breath of our neighbors in close proximity to our own is not to be underestimated. the breath holds all of us and allows us to access a very rich, very beautiful energetic side of the practice very much nurtured in community. one we can savor, recognize the need to get on the mat for, fall in love with, and transform through. And yes, we do notice, we do miss you when you're not there along side us!!!!
Alas- So that we are left with a more rich experience, together, I've asked you all to shore up your arrival times a bit. to further experience this full room warmth more routinely. Hence our focused attention is requested to establish what we long have used in the Mysore tradition- actual start times. We come together at an intentional START time together to begin practice. take the opening chant together as a community.. starting together. with full focus. then, where our personal practices will take us? thats for each of us to find out each an every day!
According to attendance over the last few months, the following seems to support our active practitioners best. please feel free to email me directly if you don't see what you need we should be able to coordinate something more specific. So beginning as soon as your able.... Please align your starts with our options below. if you have any questions please dont hesitate to email us [email protected]
