hi everyone! i’m here trying to find a space where i can put out my writing again. i used to be a thorough fanfic writer but school and day to day life became more important to me.
recently i’ve found myself wanting to create again, since every project i’ve started has gotten stuck midway.
so anyway i thought these little exercises might motivate me again to finish what i’ve started and even get better results.
i hope you enjoy and stick around!
for Y/N x S/O, i’ll write about tom holland, haz osterfield, mcu peter parker, bucky barnes, pietro maximoff, andrew garfield, george weasley, oliver wood, eric matthews, jack hunter, shawn hunter, griffin hawkins, nate archibald, jonathan byers, chase davenport, kaz from lab rats, reggie peters, and just fictional people.
as well as Y/N being a wizard in hogwarts, an avenger, a rich teenager in the upper east side, a bionic superhero, and many more.
hi! i got a job out of the blue. so it’s a bit unfortunate for my writing which is why i’m going so slow, but if you’d want to be patient with me and stick around, that’d be cool.
Summary: Where Haz wants Y/n to take a break and Y/n is a Grade A workaholic.
Warnings: Fluffiest fluff, internal conflict
Word count: 3.1k
A/n: This is for all my workaholics and overachievers out there, I’m one of you. Remember that taking care of yourself is also knowing when to stop. Lots of love!
I’m not known for being a lover. I’m somewhat of a hater, as my friends and family like to remind me. I have strong opinions about most things, which I suppose can lead to negative emotions like hatred. But just as strongly (just not as often) as I can hate something, I can love it. And I love three things: my boyfriend, my job, and Raspberry Ripple ice cream.
I never thought loving something so much could be counterproductive, but it turns out too much of anything, even love, can drain you.
This is the story of how my love for Raspberry Ripple ice cream almost ruined my life.
Just kidding. R. Ripple and I are tight— she would never do anything wrong.
This, if you’ll allow me to tell it, is the story of when I realized my job was consuming my life, and how true love saved me from burning out.
I'm an editor for one of England’s most popular magazines, so pressure is my middle name. It's a stressful gig of course, but as I’ve always said (and believed): I can handle anything.
Harrison and I met a year and a half ago at a fashion event the magazine was hosting. The place was full of clothing brands, designers, critics, models— and people like me, blending in, jotting things down, taking pictures, and, of course, speaking to guests.
Haz was one of those guests— not the kind who sits quietly and smiles, but the type who walks around, greets everyone, pays attention, and makes small talk with the people working the event. Which is how he ended up talking to me.
As I was trying to fix a slightly crooked painting that not a single person in attendance would have noticed, he offered to help. Of course it annoyed me at first and took it as an insult towards my abilities to straighten a frame, but looking back I see that it was simply Harrison being who he is: kind, helpful and caring.
After rejecting his help at least five times and eventually having to cave due to taking longer than I should’ve, he asked me for my name. I lied about it hoping he’d leave and I could go back to work, but he called my bluff.
“Are you lying?”
“What? No!”
“You don’t have to tell me your name if you don’t want to, but at least lie a little bit better for my sake.”
“How can you tell I’m lying?”
“I’m an actor, I can tell when someone’s acting too.”
“Really?”
“No, I heard someone calling you earlier.”
It got me, I couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’m Y/n.”
“Harrison, but you can call me Haz when we go out on a date.”
“What?” I asked, amused.
“I’m asking you out, was that not clear?”
“You’re quite cocky, aren’t you?”
He shrugged. “Is it working?”
I smiled softly, “Maybe.”
“So, can I have your number?”
“Ask me again when I’m off duty and I might consider it.”
“Now who’s being cocky?” He joked.
“Take it or leave it.”
“Alright, I’ll see you when you’re off.”
A part of me thought he would forget, but he didn’t. And honestly, I couldn’t refuse to give him my number, he’s quite the charmer.
From then on, we haven’t left each other’s side, and I couldn’t be happier.
One of the things I love the most about him is that he understood how important my job is to me since day one, and he has always been really supportive even if I kill myself every night in front of the computer. However, he tries to keep me healthy, even if I make it an impossible task.
"Y/n!" Haz snapped his fingers.
"What's up?"
"I've been talking to you for five minutes, have you not been listening?"
We were sitting in our dining room, where I’ve been sitting since last night.
"I'm sorry, I need to proofread this article."
"Can't you take a break while we have breakfast?"
"Does it count as breakfast if I've been up all night?"
Haz was taken off guard, "You were up all night working?!"
"No…?" I replied, a little embarrassed.
"Can you pause and eat?"
"Yes, absolutely." I closed my laptop.
"Great, let me get you some coffee." He told me and stood up from his seat, then gave me a kiss on the forehead.
"Thanks babe."
He came back with an I love my boyfriend mug he got me for our three month anniversary. "Here you go my dear- Y/n! You're working?"
I was: I opened my computer the moment he turned around.
"It won't take me long, I swear."
"I don't care about that, I just don't want you to burn out."
"I won’t, I'm doing great." I said, and I didn’t think I was lying.
"You clearly aren't, honey."
"Of course I am."
"Babe, you’ve been looking at your laptop for so long, I’m starting to get jealous. Take a break."
"I will take a break when I finish this one thing."
He sighed. "You promise?"
"I promise." I said and held out my pinky finger; he hooked his around it. “And there’s no need to be jealous, I’ve got plenty of love for both.”
“You shouldn’t!”
I rolled my eyes with a smile. “I’m kidding.”
“Good. Remember what your mug says.”
I chuckled, “I love you, dummy.”
"I love you too, and when you're done, I'm taking you out to do things you like that don't involve work."
"I'd like that."
An hour later, I was still working and Harrison walked in the room, showered and dressed.
"Are you ready?"
I looked at myself. I couldn’t be less ready. "I haven't showered."
"It’s fine! Just put on some clothes; or don't, I'll drag you out anyway."
I wasn’t in love with the idea of leaving the house and enjoying myself when I had so much to do. Regardless, I put my computer away and got dressed.
"Okay I'm ready."
"Great!" Haz grinned and opened the door.
My phone rang, of course; I couldn't ignore it. I looked at him with a guilty expression and mouthed I'm sorry.
"Hello?—
No, I'm not busy—
Of course, I'll get to it right now."
I saw my boyfriend sighing in disappointment and closing the door.
"I'm sorry babe, it won't take long."
"Can't you work on it tomorrow?"
"I’d rather not." I replied sitting back down.
"You really need to spend a whole day without the internet."
I giggled. "That's impossible."
He didn’t laugh. “Im serious.”
“Harrison, you know how things are.”
“Of course I do, but I’m worried about you!”
“I’m perfectly fine, I promise.”
But I wasn’t— I was about to spend hours on something that could be done on an actual workday, not on my day off.
He shook his head. "Y/n baby, come on, let's go outside."
"We will, I promise."
I know he was about to give up, but was strong enough to close my laptop.
"Your eyebags have eyebags, we're going." He told me and carried me bridal style.
"Haz please, I'll be quick."
"I don't care, you're killing yourself with work and I won't allow that!”
“Harrison! Put me down.”
“Don’t you want some Raspberry Ripple?”
I squeezed my eyes. “You know the answer to that is always yes.”
He smiled softly, and so did I. Then he carried me out of the house and inside the car.
"I like being spoiled by you." I told him.
“It’s your lucky day, ‘cause that’s all I’m gonna do.”
We each got a cone. I got my favorite and refused to give him a taste.
“You should’ve gotten this yourself!”
“I thought I’d try something new!”
“I’d never do that.” I licked my ice cream. “I already know I’m gonna like this flavor, why would I risk it with a new one?”
“What if you choose a different flavor and you end up liking it more?”
I raised an eyebrow. “That’s crazy talk.”
“You’re never gonna know you love something if you don’t give it a chance.” He replied.
“I gave you a chance.”
“You did.”
“And I love you.”
“You do.”
I sighed and joked. “I wish I hadn’t!”
He giggled, “Stop dodging the conversation! You know I’m right.”
“Yeah, yeah, of course you’re right. Do I have to say it out loud?”
He shrugged. “It’s nice to hear from time to time.”
I kissed his cheek. “You’re right,” I said. Another kiss. “You’re right.” One more for good measure, and when I leaned in again, as if to repeat it, I swerved and licked his ice cream instead.
“Hey!” He complained.
“Wow, this is actually pretty good.”
He chuckled, “Let’s go.”
As we walked down the street, I felt an immense urge to grab my phone and check if someone needed me every five seconds, but I didn't want Haz to get mad so I held back.
"Should we sit here?" He asked, pointing at a fountain.
"Sure, but once we finish our ice cream we should head home."
"But I thought you would take a break today."
"Nope, that doesn't sound like me." I said, sitting down.
He stood in front of me. "Please? Do it for me."
Harrison had a look on his face I couldn't say no to. I hate it, it's too cute. Plus I was too tired to use any of my willpower.
"Okay, where are we going next?"
He smiled, "To the spa."
"Huh?"
"Yup, I booked us a spa day for couples and it's exactly what you need to get rid of the stress you've been carrying around."
"I don't know… I just want my computer."
“Your computer isn’t gonna get rid of stress.”
“Who said it was my intention?”
“Y/n, you need this more than anyone I know! And my grandpa went to war.”
“Hey, don't use your grandpa against me.”
“Imagine how badly I’m trying to help you.”
I sighed. "Alright, it does sound kind of fun."
Excitedly, he grabbed my hand.
We drove to the spa.
"The last time I had a spa day, I was worried about my geometry homework." I said.
"Really?"
"Yeah, when was yours?"
"Like a month ago! Tom and I have spa days together every two months."
I chuckled. "Wow, you really are divas, aren't you?"
He nodded. "Yep."
Halfway through the full-body massage I was receiving, I realized that I wasn't feeling less stressed. In fact, I was overwhelmed thinking about how much time I've wasted today without getting anything done. I turned my head as much as I could, and noticed Haz was falling asleep— I saw this as an opportunity.
“Hey, Shelley.” I whispered to the masseuse.
“Yes? Is everything okay?” She replied with an awfully soothing voice which wasn’t soothing at all.
“Can you hand me my phone?” I asked.
“I’m sorry?”
“My phone! I need it, please give it to me.” I kept whispering.
“But, this is a massage.”
“Yeah, no shit! It won’t be long, just give it.”
I can tell she hesitated as it took her a while to move and grab it. But she finally did.
I checked it through the face port and saw that I had seventeen texts and four emails from coworkers and bosses about stuff I should be working on instead of being aggressively rubbed by a stranger.
I tried typing but it was difficult due to my position and how my body vibrated. After the masseuse touched a sensitive area of my back, I giggled and dropped my phone, which led to Haz waking up. Quickly, I placed my arms back on the bed, and pretended nothing had happened.
"You okay?" Harrison asked.
"Yep, super. How are you?”
"...Did you drop your phone? Were you working while getting a massage!?" He asked and sat up, so I did the same.
“No! I was chilling, I’m super relaxed.”
Haz looked at Shelley. “Is it true?”
I looked at her fiercely. She shook her head.
“Shelley!” I claimed. “I thought we were friends.”
“Y/n!” Haz called my attention.
"I'm sorry! It's important, okay? It's my job, Harrison."
"You have a problem, babe! How is it possible that you can't stop thinking about work for ten minutes? While you were literally supposed to be relaxing?"
For the first time, I felt like he wasn’t being the supportive boyfriend he’s supposed to be. It upset me.
"I'm not the kind of person who can just take breaks, alright? I don't need this, what I need is my computer and a cup of coffee. It feels like you're just trying to sabotage me."
“It’s just one day, Y/n! Don’t blow this out of proportion.”
I didn’t answer. Haz doesn’t typically get mad, or calls me out unless he’s really serious.
Harrison sighed, "Do you really think I'd be taking you away from work if I knew it’d hurt you? You can take a break sometimes, Y/n, it’ll be fine. I promise."
Not immediately, but I understood that he wouldn't willingly do anything to hurt me— quite the opposite. I knew he wasn’t purposely trying to be the villain in whatever twisted tale I was creating in my head.
"Crap, you might be right… I'm sorry, I'll stop."
His face brightened up. “For real?”
I nodded.
"Great! Because I'm taking you on a date… I made a reservation at your favorite place."
How he comes up with stuff to do and plans it out is beyond me. But I guess that’s one of the many things I love about him.
"I should go home and change though."
"No, I won't risk your temptation to grab your laptop." He giggled.
"Please, I brought sweatpants!"
He decided to allow it only if I agreed on not using the internet.
Following the little more relaxing than before massage, we went back home and I took a shower before getting dressed in a more appropriate attire for the restaurant.
"I'm ready!"
Haz, who was also dressed quite nicely, looked up from his book and his eyes sparkled a little bit. "You look stunning, Y/n/n."
"Thanks," I smiled. "I nearly fell asleep in the shower."
"I'm not surprised, you haven't slept in three days."
"Sleep is for the weak, love."
I yawned. Oops.
"We can skip the meal and just go to sleep."
"No! I'm not tired, I promise."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure! Let's go before I grab my laptop.”
“Alright, but give me a kiss first.” He requested.
“Why?”
“Because I’m your boyfriend.”
“Hmmm, doesn’t seem like enough.” I teased him.
“Oh, doesn’t it huh?!”
“Nah-ah.”
He grabbed me from the hips and pulled me closer to him. We smiled sweetly.
“Well then let me kiss you.”
“Only because you’ve been so nice to me all day.”
He leaned his head closer to mine, his eyes moved from my eyes to my lips, then back to my eyes. I’ve always thought Harrison and I are like magnets, drawn to each other in any circumstance. I couldn’t stand him just looking at me any longer, so I threw my lips onto his.
We pulled away, “You were taking too long,” I said.
He smirked, “Well done.”
We got to the place and sat down to eat.
"Let's order some wine." I suggested.
"Nah-ah! Champagne, we're celebrating."
I smirked, "What are we celebrating?"
"You finally taking a break." He smiled.
And I know I was supposed to smile too, but I couldn't— it felt wrong.
The waiter brought us two glasses and a bottle of champagne.
"Cheers, love." He said.
"Cheers."
I took a sip of the drink and placed it down on the table. As if someone pushed a button, I began to tear up. I tried to hide it but Harrison knows me better than anyone else. I can’t hide anything from him.
"Baby, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm just so happy to be having dinner with you."
"Then why are you crying?"
After he said that, I figured there was no reason for me to keep holding it and simply let myself go and burst out in tears.
"I'm just so tired." That being the first time I ever said it out loud.
"I know, honey." He replied, sweetly.
"I don't like being like this." I said.
"How so?"
"I mean, I love that you want me to stop obsessing about my job but it's my life now! And I- I can't stop, as much as I want to."
"Of course you can, love."
"You said we're celebrating that I'm taking a break but I don't feel like I deserve one, let alone cheer for it."
He saw me. Really saw me. Not that he didn’t try to do so earlier— I was simply hiding pretty well.
He held my hand, "Darling, trust me. You need this, you above all people deserve a break. I've seen you work your face off since the very first time we met, and I couldn't be more proud of everything you are."
I sniffed. "Thanks, Haz."
"But I also wish to be proud of you because you take care of yourself."
"I'm scared I'll disappoint everyone if I do."
"Y/n, you aren't supposed to please anyone, especially people who expect you to give up your life for a job."
I sniffed again and cleaned my tears. "Are you sure?"
"I'm certain."
I smiled. "Thanks for being so supportive."
"As your boyfriend, that's my job."
"I promise I'll try to balance my work and the rest of my life."
"And I promise I'll be there to remind you when to rest."
"You seriously are the best boyfriend I could've asked for, aren't you?"
"Yep, I was actually made by a computer."
"Huh, that's why you were so expensive?"
“You get what you pay for, my love.” He said, wiping my tears with a handkerchief he brought as part of his outfit. “I never thought I’d use this.”
I giggled. “It’s soft.”
After dinner, we drove back home and I put on some clean pj's. We got inside the bed.
"Can we watch a movie?" I asked him.
"Of course, you choose."
"Legally Blonde!"
"Again?!"
"Please, it's my comfort film."
"I thought I was all the comfort you needed."
"You and Reese Witherspoon being a badass."
He chuckled, had to agree and played the movie.
I cuddled him and laid my head on his chest, it's been a while since the last time I did that.
As anyone would’ve guessed, I didn't make it through the first 15 minutes of the film without falling deep asleep.

Nothing beats hatred
“I don't know what the hell is wrong with me!” Y/n growled, after receiving the Chinese food Connor ordered before she could argue that just got delivered to her door.
“Relax, Y/n. It isn't a big deal”, Connor said, sitting down on the kitchen table.
“I kissed him seven times! Seven!” She sat down, “And I wanted to keep doing it, Connor... I hate him”.
“Those are some pretty mixed signals you're sending, dude”.
She groaned. “I know! I don’t know what’s happening, I felt sparks all over my body when he kissed me… And my blood boils whenever I look at him”.
“Okay let me ask you something", His friend said, holding up his chopsticks with some rice.
“What?”
“What is it about him that you can't even stand looking at his face?”
“Well, for starters…!” Y/n thought, couldn’t find the answer.
“Yeah?”
“I'm thinking”.
“Okay, I'll wait”. He said, and ate.
“I have one!” Y/n announced, Connor stared at her expectantly. “He thinks he's better than me”.
“Has he ever actually said that, though?”
“No, but you can see it on his face”.
“Y/n you're a terrible face reader”.
“I am not!”
“It took you 30 minutes to realize I didn't like the food you cooked on monday”.
“You didn't like the food?” Y/n asked, sadly.
“Of course I did, sweetie. You make great spaghetti”.
Y/n smiled softly.
“I’m just saying, maybe you’re making up problems in your head”.
She rolled her eyes, “Whatever, he doesn’t like me either and he’s always made it perfectly clear! Am I supposed to forget about that?”
Connor sighed without answering; there was nothing useful to say that would change Y/n’s mind.
Tom got inside of his car while Harrison drove them back to their place.
“I can't believe you kissed her seven times”.
“I don't want to talk about it,” Tom said.
“Alright”.
The two friends were silent, but Tom’s head couldn’t be quiet.
“Do you think she felt the same way?” Tom asked Haz.
“I thought you didn't want to talk about it.”
“I don't… It's just weird, you know? Kissing my nemesis?”
“Relax, she's not your nemesis”.
“You’re right… she’s worse than that”, Tom replied, “I don’t have a name for it”.
“How about your crush?”
That made Tom’s heart drop to his stomach, “Ew Harrison, I'm not a middle schooler”.
“She is your crush though!”
“You couldn't be more wrong, I despise her”.
“Why?”
Suddenly his mind went blank, only allowing him to let one word out: “Because!”
He’s never actually thought to reason it before, he has hated her for as long as he can remember.
“Ah, great reason: because”, Haz mocked him.
Tom blurted out words, unable to form a proper sentence.
Haz interrupted his nonsense, “If you could see two millimetres beyond the end of your nose, you’d see that the two of you are more similar than you think”.
“That’s the problem! Everyone keeps comparing us like we’re some sort of fictional characters with no feelings, whose lives follow a predictable storyline, and that’s not how it is! It just isn’t! We’re two separate people with nothing whatsoever in common”.
“Alright, so you think you’re supposed to hate her”.
“No, I don’t think that. I genuinely do”.
“Are you sure? Has she ever said anything to compare you two? Has she bragged about her abilities to purposely make you feel bad?”
“I suppose not, but—”
“Then quit making up reasons to hate her, it’s not her fault that the media pinned you two against the other”.
Tom didn’t move, his eyes were fixed on the road.
“I’m not saying you have to love her”, Harrison added, “but maybe give her the benefit of the doubt”.
Tom and Y/n spent the weekend trying to figure out if they hated the other or if they just felt like they should. Thankfully, after long hours of profound reflection they figured out absolutely nothing. But at least they’re willing to be nicer to each other.
Two drops of honey and a teaspoon of kindness
Monday on set, Tom approached Y/n.
“Hey, good morning”.
“Good morning, Tom”.
Given the previous weeks of tension, frowns and sass, everyone around them couldn’t help but be surprised by the sudden act of politeness they just witnessed. In these circumstances, saying good morning was the equivalent of meeting the parents.
As time went by, they started having conversations on set that may or may not have ended with smiles and friendly grabs.
“Y/n I— uh, I wanted to talk to you about our next scene together”, Tom approached her during their lunch break.
“Sure Tom, what's up?”
“So, I'm supposed to grab your hips but I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable”.
She smiled; couldn’t help it. “Oh, that's okay, you shouldn't worry”.
“You can tell me to stop if you ever feel weird, alright?”
“Thanks Holland, I appreciate it”.
He smiled, “cool… enjoy your meal”.
Y/n looked at her newly made friend and remembered the talks she’s had with Connor.
“Hey, uh—”
“Yeah?”
“Some friends and I are having a small gathering at my place tonight, wanna come?” She asked.
“That's funny,” Tom chuckled; not for a moment did he think she meant it.
Y/n frowned, confused, “What? No— I'm serious, you should come”.
“For real?”
“Yeah! You should bring your friend Haz”.
“You know his name?”
“Why wouldn't I know his name? He's always next to you”.
“Yeah but—”
“I'm not a bitch, y'know?” She smirked.
“I never thought you were…”
“Oh come on, you totally did”.
“Okay maybe, but only because you thought I was an asshole”.
“I never, not once—” Y/n defensively tried to respond.
“Liar!”
She sighed. “Fine. So we started off with the wrong foot… Maybe we can start over?”
Tom smiled. He could agree to that, so he stretched his hand, “Deal”.
Y/n smiled too and shook his hand, “Deal”.
After their handshake lingered a little longer than the usual kind, they let go.
“So, are you coming tonight?”
“I wouldn’t miss it”.
“Sweet! I'll text you the address”.
Tom quickly went with Harrison and grabbed his shoulders from behind, “Y/n invited us to her place tonight”. He whispered.
Haz jumped and nearly choked on the piece of bread he was chewing. “Mate! Never do that again”.
“Sorry. Here, drink some water”. Tom handed him a glass.
Haz took a sip. “What were you saying?”
“Y/n’s having a gathering tonight and invited us”.
Haz widened his eyes, “Seriously? Both of us?"
“Yeah, she specifically said ‘you should bring Haz’”
“Wow. I didn’t think she’d know my name!” Haz smiled, then squinted at Tom, “You made me judge her too hard”.
“Sorry”.
“So, are we gonna go?"
“Uhhh”. Tom thought.
“C'mon, mate! It’ll be fun”.
“Fine, fine, we can go but only because you love Y/n”.
“You're the one who loves her!” Haz accused.
“Lying is bad, Harrison”.
“You should know”.
That night, Haz and Tom drove to Y/n's place, and stood outside for a while.
“Should we knock?” Tom asked.
“No, Tom. Let's just stand here waiting until someone senses we’re here and opens”.
“Good idea, yes”.
“Just knock the damn door, lad”.
Tom sighed and obeyed. Then he groaned softly and turned around. “This was a bad idea, let’s just go”.
Harrison struggled with him. “No, no, we’re already here!” He whispered.
“Let me go, Harrison!”
“I won’t, we’re staying!”
“Nope, you can’t make me”.
Someone opened the door. They stopped wrestling, and quickly stood straight.
“Hey!”
“Hello! Hi Y/n”, Tom said.
“I'm glad you could come”.
“This is Harrison”. Tom announced, stiff.
“I know that”, Y/n replied with a smile.
“Hi, Y/n how's it going?”
“Great, thanks! Please come in”.
About seven or eight other people were there. Y/n did mention it was a small gathering, but Tom was secretly hoping to blend in with the multitude and avoid any awkward interactions with her. There’s nowhere to hide.
“Tom!” Y/n called.
He snapped out of his head. “Yes?”
“I asked what you wanted to drink”.
“Right! What are you having?”
“Oh, I’m drinking iced tea, I haven’t had alcohol in a couple of months, but there’s vodka, tequila, beers, uhm—”
Tom interrupted her kindly, “I'll have some iced tea as well”.
She smiled. “Haz?”
“I’ll have a beer, thanks Y/n”.
“Be right back”.
Tom looked at his friend. “Did you know she doesn’t drink either?”
“Honestly I did not. Isn’t it cool? Now you two can fall in love and have no problems with one of you wanting to get drunk—”
“Shhh! Harrison, don’t say that out loud”.
Haz giggled. “Relax, nobody heard. We’re still at the door”.
Tom looked behind him and it was true: they barely walked a step since closing the door.
“Can we please go meet the others?”
Tom nodded and they walked up to the rest.
“If it isn't England's sweetheart”, one of them said.
“Hi, I’m Tom”. He stretched his hand. “This is Harrison”.
“I’m Connor. Nice to meet you guys, I’ve heard all about you.”
“Only good things, I hope”.
Connor chuckled softly, “sure”.
After Y/n brought their drinks, they gathered enough confidence to talk to more people. And it’s not like Tom is usually shy, but if these are Y/n’s friends, it’s more than likely that they all think he’s an asshole and he would like to change that. He did. Quite easily, honestly. His charming personality and beautiful eyes could convince anyone to like him.
The night went by pretty fast, Y/n started off more worried about people having fun than actually enjoying herself, but she eventually did.
The music was good, the food was great, the people were nice, Y/n looked beautiful... Not a bad Friday night for England’s sweetheart.
Harrison decided to leave his friend alone when Y/n asked him about his years in live theatre. He saw Connor sitting by himself and joined him.
“What’s your take on all this?” Haz asked.
“Y/n knows what she wants… just always takes the most complicated route to get it”.
“You think she likes him?”
“Do you think he likes her?”
Haz shrugged, “I think he’s on his way”.
Connor sipped his drink, “So is she”.
Round and round the world goes
Acting stopped feeling so complicated, the in-between takes weren’t filled with silence, but with laughter instead, and the end of the day was suddenly dreadful. The urge to compete was gone and replaced with kindhearted advice and support.
Anytime their calls to set didn’t match, Tom tried to bribe the A.D. to change the schedule so they could see each other for at least a few minutes. It worked only a handful of times, but Y/n conveniently kept getting confused and got to set two hours early for the others.
If all they could do was say hi to each other, then the entire day became worthwhile. And still, they believed this was nothing more than a very good friendship.
The final day of shooting the movie arrived at last. Everyone was weeping, hugging and taking pictures with people they spoke to once or even less than that. There was one more scene left to film, so neither of the actors could risk their makeup with goodbyes ending in tears. Becca however, called everyone to gather around.
“I just want to thank everyone who was a part of this… I know sometimes it’s tough, but we do it because we love making movies! We wake up at 4 am, we go home at midnight, we spend hours on our feet, we survive on high-sodium snacks, we get angry at each other, we learn how to tolerate someone, we find a reason to come in every day, and most importantly, we give it our absolute best… because we love making movies”.
Tom and Y/n looked at each other during most of Becca’s speech. They tried not to make it obvious, but it was difficult. As if it was scripted, their glances kept missing each other by a beat.
When everyone started clapping, and they finally shared a smile, Tom realized his time with Y/n was about to end. Sure, there’s always a press tour but who knows when that will be? And who knows what may happen until then?
“Y/n?” He said.
“Yes?”
“This is our last scene, can you believe it?”
“I know, I truly thought we’d end up killing each other”.
Tom chuckled, “I’m glad we didn’t”.
“Me too, killing you might bring me bad press”, Y/n joked.
“Also, I just wanted to say—”
Becca cut him off. “Tom! Y/n! Ready?!”
Tom sighed.
“You can tell me”. She said, hoping he would so she didn’t have to be left wondering.
“It can wait”.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I swear”.
Y/n nodded, “Okay”.
But now her mind couldn’t stop spiraling. What did he want to say? Was it a criticism about her acting? Does her breath smell bad? Is he throwing an after party? Or irrevocably in love with her? No, scratch that! It’s probably the bad breath thing.
In what was supposed to be his character’s bedroom, Tom laid on his back on the bed,his feet propped against the headboard. Y/n sat on the floor, leaning her back against the mattress, their heads resting close to each other. Tom turned his head, and Y/n followed. They smiled— maybe the kindest smile they had shared yet. Tom winked at her. She subtly flinched and looked away. That wasn’t the reaction he was expecting. His expression shifted: the smile faded, his eyes drifting back to the ceiling. He suddenly felt stupid. Perhaps the end of filming meant the end of their friendship as well— that what they had built was only meant to last long enough to make the movie.
“Alright Tom, sit up and… Action”. Becca instructed.
🎬🎬🎬
After sitting up, Tom threw his body back down with a small chuckle, “I can’t believe you’re still trying to help me”.
Y/n looked at him. “Come on Aaron, have you learned nothing? After all this time?”
“It’s surprising to see you caring so much about anyone, that’s all”.
“You’re not anyone, stupid. You’re you”.
Tom flipped onto his stomach, resting on his forearms so that his head hovered just above hers. She tilted her head and looked up to meet his gaze.
Tom stared into her eyes and got lost in thought for a couple of seconds.
“Are you gonna stop talking to me after this?” Those were Aaron’s lines, but it was Tom who asked.
Y/n looked down, she felt like the only version of herself that could answer, was the one who wasn’t acting.
“I wouldn’t bear it”, She whispered.
“I’ve already taken too much of your life… Even if we care so much about each other, do you even think it’d be fair?”
“I think we’re past the point of fairness by now”, she smirked. “Fair would be us being able to get the fuck out of this town and love each other in peace”.
Tom quickly jumped down and sat next to her, “We can do that”.
“No, we can’t”.
He held Y/n’s hand, waited a beat. “We can do anything… I can do anything, as long as I have you”.
She leaned her head on his shoulder, “I don’t want to hold you back anymore…”
“Lydia…” He used his finger to lift her chin, “You’re the best part of anything”.
She smiled, "You're too into me to think straight”.
“Thinking straight is overrated if it means not having you in my life”.
There was nothing else to say. The scene was over. Becca was supposed to say cut, but she hadn’t yet.
Y/n leaned even closer, “I don’t want to get used to not being close to you”, she whispered.
“You don’t have to, not anymore”.
Like a moth to a flame, Y/n’s lips kissed Tom’s. They sunk into the kiss and forgot about the camera; there was nothing more important to any of them than being this close.
“Cut!” Becca finally shouted.
🎬🎬🎬
Slowly, they pulled apart and chuckled a bit.
They looked around, blushing. The director was in awe of what she witnessed. As a matter of fact, the entire crew was impressed.
“That’s a wrap”. Becca said, with a laugh.
Everyone jumped and shouted in excitement, hugged and high-fived whoever was near.
Y/n and Tom, surrounded by so much joy, hugged as well. He stood up and gave her his hand to help. He was stiff, somehow after the camera cut he snapped back to thinking Y/n didn’t feel the same way.
“It was a pleasure working with you, Y/n”.
“Likewise, Tom”.
He nodded and walked away. Just like that, without even a glimpse back at her. It really was over.
She didn’t move until the sound guy approached her.
“I’m sorry, can I take the mic off?”
“Oh… Yeah, of course”. She took it off and handed it to him.
After walking through the bunch of people congratulating her and holding back tears, she reached her trailer. Though she couldn’t open the door, which drove her even closer to crying.
“God damnit!” She kept pulling the handle. “Work!” The girl begged.
She couldn’t stop herself from breaking into tears, and leaned her forehead on the door. “Shit”.
“Twist slowly”, A voice whispered from the inside.
Y/n raised her head, confused. “Tom?”
“Go on, twist it slowly”.
She obeyed and was surprised to see it worked. Tom was right at the entrance.
“Why are you in my trailer?”
“Why are you crying?”
“None of your business, why are you in my trailer?” She asked again.
“Are you crying because of me?”
“Don’t flatter yourself; what are you doing in my trailer?!” She responded, angrily.
He ignored the question one more time, “Because if you’re crying because of me then you should say it”.
“Why would I be crying because of you?!”
Tom pushed the door shut. “C’mon, Y/n… aren’t you tired of pretending? I know I am”.
“I’m not pretending to do anything”. She replied, still annoyed.
“Then why are you crying?”
“Stop that!”
“Is it because you like me?”
“Cut it out”.
“Y/n why can’t you just admit it?!”
“Because it’s goddamn frightening!”
The answer made Tom stand still.
“And it’s not your fault, You’re the easy part of all this… But I can’t help but think, what if you hate me again one day?”
“Y/n that’s crazy…” He held her hand and pulled her a little closer, “I’ve never actually hated you”.
She looked at his eyes, “How can you tell?”
Before answering, with his other hand Tom wiped a tear off her cheek. “Because it only took one honest talk with you to start… loving you”.
She widened her eyes.
“I mean, how real could the hatred have been if it went away with such ease?” He smirked. “I didn’t even know you before… But I do now”.
Y/n caught herself before she went down a rabbit hole of thoughts and focused on just one, the one that never actually leaves her mind, the one that makes her smile at any given time, the one whose voice makes her weak in the knees: Tom. What a wonderful thought he is.
“I can keep talking if it helps—”
“No, don’t say anything”, Y/n interrupted and pulled him into a kiss.
Finally one that didn’t involve cameras, scripts and a ton of people watching. And as good as the previous kisses were, this one takes the cake.
“You’re so hard to hate”. Y/n smirked.
“Oh, I know. I’m delightful”.
“Shut up”.
“Shut me up”, he dared.
“You don’t have to tell me twice”, Y/n replied, kissing him again— which quickly led to endless more attempts at shutting each other up.
Summary: Where Y/n and Tom get cast to be romantic leads for a movie, and the only downside is how much they hate each other.
Warnings: Angst, some cussing.
Word count: 3.6k
A/N: Sup, everyone! This is my first post after years of not writing fics. I’m a bit rusty so feel free to leave constructive feedback! This is divided in two parts, I hope it’s easy to read. Lots of love.
part 1 of 2 - part 2
Anyone would expect two people who have such similar stories to like each other. At the very least get along if needed. To be able to share a space without hell being summoned. This isn’t the case.
To the public, Tom Holland and Y/n Y/l/n are, essentially, the exact same celebrity but in the opposite gender. Media outlets make it very clear whenever there's a chance. They’ve both been theater actors, dancers, superheroes, lovable dorks who come from nice families and since moments ago, co-stars in a romantic drama.
"Shit!" Y/n yelled once she hung up the phone with her manager.
She was getting ready to go out to her and her best friend’s usual Thursday brunch at Cloud Nine Café, when she was suddenly struck with the tragic news.
“What is it?” Connor, the aforementioned best friend, asked.
“They just told me who's my co-star for Golden Linings.”
She liked the title right away. A play on words, a promise of victory, a lie, perhaps? She had big hopes for it. They’re gone now.
“Who is it?”
“Take a guess.” She replied, making the web shooting spiderman symbol with her hand and pretending to throw up.
“Noooo!” Connor reacted appropriately.
“I swear, Joanna just told me.”
“But he's like your nemesis.”
“He’s not my nemesis, Connor”, she made a small pause. “He’s much worse than that.”
“You’re gonna have to get over it real fast, dear,” her friend advised, grabbing the car keys from a glass coffee table in the center of the room.
“I don't know if I'm going to be able to do this movie,” Y/n stated, her voice was unshaken: she meant it.
Connor turned his head so fast, he could’ve broken his neck. “You can’t be serious.”
“I am! I cannot stand that guy, he drives me crazy.”
“No, Y/n you told me how much you loved the script the moment you read it,” her friend replied while he walked closer to her.
Y/n looked down at her feet.
Connor then grabbed her shoulder, and softly whispered, “This can be your biggest role yet!”
Somewhere else, some time similar
“Oh God, this is shit,” Tom said once he hung up the phone with his agent.
“What is it?” Harrison, Tom’s long term best friend, asked, pausing the football video game he’d been losing with intense dedication.
“Guess who is going to be my co-star for the Golden Linings movie.”
Tom quite liked the title too. He wasn’t too sure as to why, he just did. The script however, he was in love with.
“Who?” Haz asked.
“Y/n Y/l/n.” Tom said, madly.
“You're joking.”
“I swear, my agent just told me,” He answered, rubbing his eyes with frustration.
“Gasoline and fire have a better relationship than you two!”
“What am I going to do?” He asked, sitting down beside his friend, with the bit of hope that he would offer him some good advice.
“Suck it up.”
“That’s some rubbish advice, you know?”
“What else can you do? You said you loved the script; are you gonna quit just because of some girl?”
Tom squeezed his eyes and sighed. “I hate her.”
“Enough to quit the movie?”
“I guess not,” Tom whispered and grabbed the other controller to play with Harrison.
“I always thought Y/n was cool.” Haz admitted.
Tom stared at him, frowning.
“I mean, she's awful, yuck!”
They started a new match.
“This is shit.”
“You'll be fine, maybe she'll end up being your friend.”
“I highly doubt that.”
“Maybe even more than friends,” Haz joked.
“Shut up, don't even think about it.”
“Alright, I was just trying to distract you so I could do this!” Harrison’s team scored a goal, which led to a celebratory dance.
A good movie shall defeat the enemy
Tom and Y/n both set their minds to the fact that they will be working together for while. The director asked the crew to meet up with her a day before the first day of filming to build up morale and get acquainted. A seemingly nice gesture to anyone other than the two most stubborn people on the movie’s payroll.
They held a picnic at a park, pretty far away from anything, really. Y/n’s mind didn’t take long to spiral into thinking this was Tom’s devious plan to get rid of her. It wasn’t, everyone else was there too.
After a few moments of greeting people from the cast and crew, Y/n finally decided to swallow her pride and go say hello to her worst nightmare. Therefore winning the battle for being the bigger person.
“Tom!”
“Y/n, hey!” Tom said, with a grape in his mouth and a couple of others in his hand.
They hugged with enough awkwardness between them that anyone in a mile radius would cringe.
“Nice to see you,” Tom said.
“Yeah, same.”
“My stars!” Yelled the director, walking up to them from behind.
“How are you, Becca?” Y/n asked, hugging her.
“I'm very excited! Kind of freaking out too, if I’m honest.”
“Oh absolutely, I feel the same way, nothing more terrifying than first days, right?” Tom responded.
“Yeah, that’s why I cheated and made today our actual first day so tomorrow won’t count.”
“And Becca, I know we’ve talked about this before but I just love the storyline,” Y/n said.
Tom held back from scoffing.
“I just always thought you would be the perfect Lydia Dawson and Tom, we couldn't have a better Aaron Hughes.”
They both smiled, simultaneously glanced at the other and frowned.
“Alright, I’ll leave you two to get acquainted, it’s very important for the story for you to be comfortable.”
“Of course, that’s a great idea,” Tom said.
Y/n rolled her eyes: what a kiss ass.
Seconds of silence after Becca left, they both spoke.
“So…”
“So…”
“How's it going,Tom?” She asked.
“Good, thanks, you?”
“Good, you?”
“We’ve established that already.”
“Oh.”
Y/n kicked her feet on the ground, Tom ate the grapes he still had, and none of them talked.
“Well, nice seeing you, Holland.”
Y/n turned around.
“Wait,” Tom called.
“What?”
“You know that eventually, we're gonna have to get along, right?”
Y/n pressed her lips tightly. “I know, not just yet though.”
She walked away; she really couldn't stand that prick at all.
Tom couldn't stand her either, the moment she left, he rolled his eyes and looked around for someone else to bond with.
Following the announcement of them being the leads in this movie, the internet and media outlets were flooding with their names, faces, and what nots. Y/n opened Instagram before bed, hoping to find as little of this as possible. Life however, doesn’t work how one would like it to: the top headlines read: “Female Tom Holland starring opposite Male Y/n Y/l/n”, “Two peas in a pod– but will one out shine the other?”, or “Rebecca Williams casts Holland and Y/l/n in upcoming film. Let’s pray they can live up to expectations”. She turned off her phone and madly screamed into her pillow. The idea of Y/n being expected to be somehow better than Tom but also exactly like him drove her crazy. She can’t win.
The first days of filming were tough for both of them, although onscreen they seemed to be the absolute best friends. Say what you want about either of them, but they are very good actors. They could convince even the most skeptical critic that they have great chemistry.
“Great work you two! Let's get ready for the kiss scene, alright?” Becca indicated, as the two of them were reviewing the lines by the coffee break stand for a scene that definitely didn’t involve kissing.
Y/n coughed, nearly spitting the coffee on her mouth.
“The kiss? I thought we were filming that next week,” Replied Tom.
“You didn’t get the changes for today’s shooting plan? Crap, I’m gonna kill my A.D.!”
“No, we didn’t get them!”
“I’m sorry guys, we figured it’d be better to use today’s lighting,” Becca explained.
They glanced.
“Sure, no problem,” Y/n said after a couple of seconds of trying to figure out an escape plan and failing.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s get it done!” Tom oversold his enthusiasm.
Naturally, Y/n was freaking out, she didn't prepare for the kiss. She thought she had at least one more week. All her mind could think of is how bad it will go.
Tom ran to his trailer and texted Harrison. The one day his friend had to go see his uncle and Tom has to kiss Y/n. His friend didn’t respond, which led to Tom trying to calm himself down and think that this wasn’t such a big deal: it’s just a kiss.
After being scolded by Becca, the assistant director apologized to both and still reminded them that they had five minutes to get ready.
Both actors dreadfully walked back to set and gave each other an awkward smile. If anyone understood their suffering, it was the other.
“Are you two ready?” Becca asked kindly.
With zero certainty, and a ton of repulsion, both said yes.
The director gave them very simple instructions: it was a one shot scene, following their entire conversation from the moment they walked inside the door, until the kiss. They could move around, approach each other, grab props from set, anything they thought would benefit the scene.
After tracing, and dreading it for a while, it was time.
“Action!”
🎬🎬🎬
Y/n opened the room’s door aggressively, walked inside and threw some keys onto a counter. Tom followed from behind, he turned on the lights.
“Lydia, stop!” Tom shouted.
“Go away!”
“Please just listen to me, can you do that?”
Y/n took off her coat and hung it on a chair. She then walked towards the window, opened it, and sat on the sill.
“It’s raining, what are you doing?” Tom asked, from his place.
Y/n pulled out a cigarette from her bag, “This isn’t your house, fuck off.”
“I want to talk to you.”
Y/n took a drag from the cigarette. It was supposed to be followed by another line, but instead, she started coughing.
“Shit, I’m sorry!”
“Cut!”
🎬🎬🎬
The camera cut, the microphones lowered.
“Sorry, sorry, it usually takes me longer to prepare for smoking, let’s start over.”
“Okay let’s try it again, no worries, darling.”
“Becca, we only have time for one more take.” The A.D. told her.
“One? Are you insane!?”
“Sorry, but with all the tracing and setbacks we’ve had all day, I can’t give you more than one.”
Becca sighed and squeezed the bridge of her nose.
“Can we do it sometime else, then? I can’t possibly get it done with one take.”
The A.D. took a deep breath and checked the shooting plan on his clapperboard.
“I’ll work on it, but you’re gonna have to give up some takes.”
“Absolutely, I promise. You’re a life saver!”
The situation basically sorted itself out in front of Tom and Y/n’s eyes. They were both deeply grateful for the crew’s terrible time management.
After entering the place she was staying at, Y/n sat down on the couch and let out a big sigh of a combination of relief and anger.
“What‘s wrong?” A voice asked from behind.
Y/n jumped in terror. “Shit! You scared me, Connor.”
Her friend chuckled, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to… Are you okay?”
He walked and sat next to Y/n.
“They wanted to film the kiss scene today.”
“Seriously!? I thought you had more time.”
“I did too but they changed their plans.”
“So how was the kiss?”
“Oh, we didn’t get to it. We ran out of time and moved on to the next scene.”
“Wait, so nothing happened?”
Y/n looked at her friend, she would’ve expected him to react more accordingly to the situation.
“Well, no! But we’re doing it tomorrow.”
“Maybe it’s better to just get the kiss over with right now.”
“I guess so, and it’s just one kiss, right? No biggie.”
“I mean, you'll have to kiss him more than once.”
"Not if I make sure it’s perfect on the first take.”
“Are you sure you can pull it off?”
“Are you questioning my acting abilities?”
Connor shrugged and made a ‘more or less’ sign with his hand, “Meh.”
Y/n gasped. “Rude!”
Tom walked inside his place, threw his keys on the counter and himself on the couch.
“You alright mate?” Haz asked, handing his friend a coke.
“I have to kiss Y/n tomorrow.”
“Are you serious?”
“As a heart attack”, Tom said, sitting up and taking the cold can from Harrison.
“So, are you doing it?”
“I have to. Even if it kills me.”
“Stop being overdramatic, it's just a kiss. Plus, Y/n is beautiful and you know it.”
Tom groaned. “Why don't you just marry her already?”
“Come on, I'm just trying to help you, lad.”
“I know, I should just get it over with and kiss her.”
“It probably won't be as bad as you think.”
Tom drank his coke, “can't you kiss her?” he asked, whining.
“I wish,” Haz whispered under his breath.
Tom side eyed Haz, who didn’t say anything else and took a sip of his beer.
After finishing a few more sodas, Tom checked his phone. He hardly ever used social media anymore, but he’s been anxious lately. He went on Twitter (or X, but he will always call it Twitter), and found his name trending. Probably because Becca had posted first-day photos earlier. He clicked on it. Most of the posts were comparisons between him and Y/n: whether they had chemistry, whether they “worked” as a couple on screen, whether she was prettier than him, more talented, better brought up. All nonsensical garbage he knew not to give any attention to, but it was difficult to simply ignore it, his insides were burning with anger.
“Stop looking at that,” Haz took Tom’s phone from his hands.
“Hey! I was reading.”
“Nothing good ever comes from reading, lad.”
Tom sighed. His friend was right: reading is a nightmare.
One kiss, nothing more
The next day, the two actors arrived on set, sat down for make-up and hairstyle and didn't say a word to the other.
“Where are my stars?” Asked Becca.
“Right here, Bec!” Tom replied.
“Amazing, so we had to make some arrangements to the schedule but we have time for the one shot scene. Are you ready?”
“I am, I don't know about Y/n.”
The girl stared at him fiercely, “oh I was born ready.”
“Fantastic, let’s get into places, and I’ll be right with you.”
Behind the door, Y/n and Tom took deep breaths. They sort of had a plan in mind to make this the least uncomfortable possible.
Y/n thought picturing Sebastian Stan might do the job, while Tom replayed his favorite song on his head.
“Alright, ready?!” Becca asked from the other side.
“Ready!” They answered.
“Scene 16, take 2.”
Y/n closed her eyes for a few moments.
“Action!”
🎬🎬🎬
She opened them and saw Tom, who simply nodded with a subtle smile.
Just like the day prior, Y/n opened the room’s door aggressively, walked inside and threw the keys onto a counter. Tom followed her, he turned on the lights.
“Lydia, stop!” Tom shouted.
“Go away!”
“Please just listen to me, can you do that?”
Y/n took off her coat and threw it on a chair, walked towards a window, opened it, then sat on the sill.
“What are you doing? It’s raining.” Tom asked.
Y/n lit up a cigarette. “This is my house, fuck off.”
“I want to talk to you.”
Y/n took a drag from the cigarette, "You lied to me.”
“I didn't want to lie, you know that.”
“Oh. That’s great Aaron, as long as you didn’t want to,” She said, sarcastically.
Tom walked closer to her, scratched his head, “I wanted to keep you out of my mess.”
“Who told you I cared about getting involved in messes?!” Y/n said and took another drag and blew the smoke outside the window, “I thought you knew me better than that.”
“Lydia, please…” Tom was a step away from her.
The camera captured both of them from up close. The tension was palpable.
Y/n threw the cigarette out of the window, then looked at Tom’s eyes, “What if this could've been our mess?”
“You don't know what you're saying,” Tom said while turning away from her.
“We’ve always been there for each other, through and through… Why would this be any different?”
“We’re older now, Lydia. This isn’t the same as a high school bully,” Tom sighed, “I’m a fuck up.”
Y/n stood up. “I wish you trusted me like I trust you.”
“It’s not that I don’t trust you!”
“Okay, then what is it?!” She yelled.
“If something were to happen to you because of me, I will never be able to forgive myself”, Tom held Y/n’s hand, “I would never sacrifice your wellbeing for me.”
“Well, you should.”
He looked at her eyes.
“I know I would.” She added.
“What?”
“I’d sacrifice my wellbeing for yours”, Y/n’s eyes were getting subtly red and wet. “In a heartbeat.”
“I don’t want you to.”
“I don’t give a shit, Aaron.”
They stood inches away from each other, the light behind them reducing them to dark figures edged in gold.
“I’m gonna say it.” Y/n whispered.
“Don't, Lydia, don’t say anything you won’t be able to take back.”
“I love you”, she said.
Tom’s body filled with goosebumps. All he did was look at her face. He was still holding her hand, so after three eternal seconds, he pulled her into a deep, passionate, and longer than scripted kiss.
“Cut!” Becca yelled after letting the scene sink in.
🎬🎬🎬
They pulled away quickly and looked in different directions. Y/n wiped her mouth and Tom cleared his throat.
“How was that?” She asked.
“Kids, that was fantastic…”
They smiled proudly, and even gave each other a slight nod.
“I wish we had tried yesterday! I didn’t know you’d pull it off so neatly on the first try.”
“Second try, let’s not forget Y/n choking on smoke.”
There it was: the grudge was back. And now, they were practically having a staring contest.
“I’d like to see you smoking a cigarette and look as cool as me, Holland.”
“Darling, I'm Spiderman. Nobody’s cooler than me.”
“Way to change the subject, nerd.”
Becca interrupted the feud. “Okay, let’s go check out the scene on the monitor.”
“I’ll pass”. Y/n said and walked away.
“Yeah, I’m good.”
While Y/n ran to her trailer to… scream, probably, Tom ran towards Harrison who saw the entire thing.
“Dude! Did you see that!?” He whispered.
“Saw it, felt it, I’m obsessed with your chemistry.”
“I’m not kidding, that was the best kiss I've had in a long time.”
“Are you serious?”
Tom shrugged with a really small chuckle, “I want to kiss her again.”
“Woah, calm down tiger, I thought you hated her.”
Tom stuttered, “I- Ye- Yeah, I hate her… I was just kidding… Totally kidding.”
In her trailer, Y/n grabbed her phone and called Connor.
“Hey superstar, how's it going?”
“We kissed.”
“How was it?”
“It wasn't terrible.”
“Really?”
“It was… great, actually,” Y/n confessed.
“Shut up, are you being serious?”
“I kinda want to do it again…” She said, softly.
“I thought we despised him.”
“Yes, that hasn’t changed, but I felt something weird when we kissed.”
“Maybe it’s because you haven’t had a good kiss in so long.”
“I’ll do it again just to be sure.”
“You’re approaching some turbulent territory with this, you know?”
Y/n was silent. She had so many thoughts but none were clear.
“You’re right, that’s stupid.”
A knock on her door scared the life out of her, making her hang up the phone.
“Yes?”
The A.D. spoke, “Y/n, we need you back on set to reshoot the scene.”
“What? I thought it was good.”
“There was an issue with the focus and the mics, all technical problems.”
Y/n took a deep breath, “Alright, I’ll be right there.”
She pulled the handle but the door was stuck: she got the faulty trailer and is convinced Tom is to blame for it somehow.
“Oh my God!” She yelled and kicked the door a couple of times until she got it open. “I’m gonna kill that British prick!”
Both went back to the center of the set and while Becca spoke, the makeup artists retouched their faces.
“Guys, I’m really sorry, you two were absolutely perfect, but we’re gonna have to do it again.”
“It’s okay Bec, no worries.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, we can do it again,” Tom responded, nervously.
Y/n glanced at him.
They went back to their initial positions. This was happening: they were gonna kiss again.
“Scene 24, take 3.”
“Action!”
Kiss.
It was just as amazing, the scene wasn’t, so they had to try again.
Another kiss.
Again.
Two more.
And another one. This take was the best one yet, both acting and camera work wise. As for the kiss? Let’s just say that if Becca didn’t yell cut, they probably would still be kissing.
“Okay! We've got it.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes I'm sure, we have to move on now. I know you like kissing each other, but you can do that in your own time.”
Tom and Y/n glanced and blushed.
“That's not going to happen, Becca.”
“Yeah, it was pure professionalism.”
