What percentage of performing ability comes either the stallion or mare? Bc I've heard of tb studs not winning a race but their offspring become grades stakes winner. Or even if you have unraced mare with good lines that produces good working/sturdy foals.
I think this is hard to answer because i think there isn't really a set percentage of which parent will pass down genes to a foal. It's suppose to be "50/50" but i believe it's really just a luck of the draw type of thing. That why breeding a good sturdy mare to a good stallion is the best choice to get what you most desire from a foal. If you don't have the best mare or stallion ever it's suggested you find a good mare/stallion that can "fill" in the spots missing from one parent I hope that helps you to understand! and sorry for such a late reply

The athleticism of the quarter horse is absolutely phenomenal. It’s no surprise that quarter horse lovers are obsessed with that rear end. There are few rides quite as exciting as working with a good cattle horse. (Though steeplechasing is a wild ride too, I think my parents were glad I had a very limited–but so fun!–experience with that. They didn’t trust the thoroughbreds…)

Hi my names Ellie I’m a six and a half month old paint bred and I loved having runs in the paddock but unfortunately yesterday I had an unfortunate accident while playing and snapped my growth plate off of my elbow, my owners are devastated as this isn’t the first time they have feared losing me, due an injury I obtained at five days old, after four months of my step mum and nan nursing me my injuries were all healed, tomorrow was the day I was meant to be heading off to the paint horse nationals. If your able to help me over come this, I would be forever grateful
