Bookstores are dying out. Everywhere you turn, your favorite ones are closing up shop. First it was the Borders on 19th avenue and then it was the Barnes and Noble in Colma. Chain stores are starting to see a decline in consumers with everyone turning to e-readers.
So if one is an avid book reader, where must one shop to covet a new nonfiction best seller? I've rounded up a few locations that can satisfy any readers yearning. I've located some of the neatest book stores around San Francisco. Each one is unique and special in their own way.
Green Apple Books in the Inner Richmond neighborhood is a true gem. It's small and cramped location is stacked with copious novels that would impress any reader. Charming and stocked, Green Apple Books has been around for over 40 years and sees no plans of closing.
"It really is a special place," Paul Muluihill, co-owner says.
