My grandmother gave me a ton of these antique glass thingies when I was a kid. Some of them are candy containers with ANCIENT CANDY STILL INSIDE!! No idea if they’re valuable or what I’m gonna do with them…
My first thought as I saw this picture was: "Did Monopoly release a limited edition with clear playing pieces?"

As We Members of the cumbercollective know today started the Open Ticket Sale for "Hamlet". I Managed to get into queue almost at number 3000 and patiently waited for almost 3 hours for my Turn. I managed to pick two tickets in the Upper circle for 27. october. But when i tried to pay for them they did Not recognize my prepaid MasterCard! I tried a few times, panicked for about 5 minutes and Then had a sudden stroke of near genius and Called my card's Support Hotline. Another five minutes of trying things and I finally managed to complete the Payment! I will pray for the nice lady who helped me. She really saved my week! On that note - gaaah! I will see Benedict as Hamlet next year! :-D Oh, and for jokes I entered the queue again right away to see how many were still waiting - and I got almost 31000 (!) people in Front of me! That is nuts!
So it looks like stall seats will be pretty much sold out for all performances of Hamlet by the time public sale starts next Monday. Most of them went to the various levels of members, with some being sold by ATG rather than the Barbican and then 100 seats per performances for 10 £ that won’t go...
Exactly! And what makes it even worse is that due to the timing of the sale start and the actual performances most of those memberships will have expired by the time those performances come along. So as long as you don't live in London or visit there before Hamlet starts you will not have any benefit from those memberships whatsoever! This makes for EXTREMELY pricey tickets indeed.
Remember that the Barbican has held back tickets - not all are going on sale right now (there were specific amounts only available for the red & orange member sales). Plus also remember that each show holds roughly 1,000 people, with 90 shows (roughly) that's 90,000 tickets. I honestly think those of us (and there is a lot of us) waiting for the general tickets will be fine.

Dear lord, PLEASE!
I am starting to have massive panic attacks about "Hamlet"! I did not have any money for a barbican membership card. And I thought with not being restricted on the date (since I simply would plan my vacation accordingly) I would easily manage to grab a good seat once general ticket sales open. But after reading comments etc. on the internet I start to fear that I might not be able to get a ticket AT ALL!
Should that happen I will actually cry. While I am not the hardcore stalker fan this ticket is meant to be my motivation for actually saving up for this trip, because I unfortunately have a slight problem with saving up money if it is not absolutely necessary. I am actually prepared to buy a premium seat by now if I have to despite the fact that I have no idea what the difference would be compared to good stall seats...
Why can it not be the 11th already? *desperate whiney noises*
That is hardly an achievement if said show is "Sherlock". I can do THAT in one day. ;)
1. This looks like the weirdest movie ever.
2. Daniel Radcliffe sounds like a COMPLETELY different person with an American accent. His voice literally sounds lower.

I love those ideas. The only gripe I have with them is the thing with Snape and the pen. Since he actually is a halfblood I am pretty sure he knows what a pen is.
I am soo excited!
I have been talking about a vacation in england/london for years but never could find anyone to join me and I didn't feel like going alone. A few weeks ago I randomly complained to my younger sister (with whom I do not share the closest of relationship mind you) how I would like to go to London next year because of, well, London and how much I'd love to go and see "Hamlet" at the barbican (Come on! Favorite english author AND favorite english actor in one! How am I suppose to not be excited about it?) but noone wants to come along and how I didn't feel like going on my own.
Mark my surprise when she not only suggested to join me and go on vacation with me next year but was also interested in seeing Benedict Cumberbatch in "Hamlet" as well! She's neither a big fan of Shakespeare nor Benedict. I am not even sure she knows ANY of his former works at all. On top of that her english is not at its best either AND I never thought she of all people would be interested to go on a vacation with me (and to someplace NOT particularly warm as well).
I am actually super excited about this and I just hope and PRAY that I will actually be able to get two tickets once the general sale starts on the 11th. If I miss out on that I will be so devastated!
I love the Pushing Daisies universe because it’s this beautiful little bright world where people live in windmills and keep bees and everyone’s jobs are things like lighthouse keeping, illusionists, and scratch-and-sniff book authors. But it’s teeming with cold-blooded murder.
