I don't think Dark actually wanted to kill victim. They wanted to have victim willingly work with them. Even after the fight, they extended their hand the same way Chosen did in episode 3. But victim wasn't willing to do that.
I wonder if it reminded Dark of Chosen, since they seem to already be viewing victim as a replacement. Only this time, they're not allowed to quit. If Chosen victim won't willingly work with them anymore, then they'll make them stay. Dark would rather have a puppet at their side then admit to being alone.
Knowing almost the full extent of Dark's plan of taking over the world by assimilating everyone into his "obey me machine," a thought came across my head. Clearly, the people that are revived through the machine keep their abilities i.e. Hacker.
