I don’t know if it’s just cause I’m finally a cracked egg, but the more I hear stories from my trans brothers and sisters the more I realize how much I have in common with how so many realized they were trans. Like damn the signs were literally staring me in the face weren’t they? 😅

I really reaaaaallly want to take some selfies to celebrate some new clothes I bought, but every time I try I get super dysmorphic and ashamed about my body. Does anyone have any tips they found to get around this?
I haven’t been posting lately, I’ve been so overwhelmed with the horrible state of the world to be positive.
In the last month alone, I have seen things happen that I’ve been promised would never happen; rights being taken away, people being shot in the streets and kidnapped from homes, senseless wars raging overseas, and I’m having trouble going about my day to day life without all that constantly hanging over my head.
I’m outraged, extremely stressed, and I have no idea what the world is going to look like in a month, or even tomorrow.
My family doesn’t realize it, but they gave me a substantial bit of gender affirmation the other day.
I’ve been trying out a lot of skincare routines lately to subtly mar my appearance more feminine, and I’ve found them really relaxing and affirming in addition to my skin feeling SO much better! A couple days ago, my sister (who has a background as an esthetician) looked at me and told me my skin was looking really good lately, and my dad and my mom chimed in and agreed, and said my skin looked so clear and bright!
It’s really unusual for my parents to say anything positive about anyone, my mom in particular has always made nasty comments about my weight and appearance growing up, so to hear from them that my skincare is working really just made me feel like I was glowing! ☺️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️
I’m considering some form of laser or electrolysis, though I’m nervous to start. How badly does it hurt? 😰

The dysphoria is strong today, so I wanted to write something and share a experience I’ve had for as long as I can remember.
Ever since I was a kid I’ve always hated looking at myself in the mirror; every time I caught a glimpse of myself I would always have the immediate thought of “that’s not me” go through my head. Every single time, for years up to today, I always had a little bit of a start when I would look at myself, because the face that was looking back at me was so different from what I thought I looked like.
This lead to a ton of body image issues throughout my life. I got to the point where I hated how I looked so much that on the days when my mental health was at its worst I’d have panic attacks because I thought my face and my body were so ugly, so wrong, and the last thing I wanted was to go out into public looking like THAT. Some days, I’d spend hours forcing myself to look at myself, almost trying to will my more masculine traits like my brow and jaw line to look softer.
I hated how I looked, and I hated myself as a result. It wasn’t till I started to accept that I may in fact be trans that I started to be kinder to myself, to try to change my negative self talk, with the new found knowledge that no, I’m not broken, I’m not ugly, that I’m beautiful, both inside and out, and that one day that beauty inside will be reflected in the outside. But until then, I’m making a point to be kinder to myself on my worse days.
This was hard to write because I never told anyone this, your eyes are the first to see this put into words. But maybe someone will read this and maybe it will help them to know that even on their worse days, they are not alone.🩷🩷🩷
