What is Zombie Stage?
I don't always keep up with big announcements in the Alien Stage fandom. I usually end up hearing about them from people who are a tad bit more invested in it than I am, and that satisfies me. Which means that I know what VIVINOS said Alien Stage S2 was going to be. Logically, I knew we wouldn't get a happy-go-lucky school AU, but Zombie Stage wasn't something I was expecting.
I'm still excited for it. Hell, I think I like the aesthetic of this series more than the original ALNST! This just brings the question: how is this still a school AU?
I have 3 theories, but there's only one with (some) actual evidence towards it. What if this is kind of like Jumanji (or media kind of like it)?
Longer ramble/theory below the cut
Thing I Did Today: Made a Google Slideshow about my fake rubber duck collection, as well as including stupid "facts" about rubber ducks. It kind of turned into an entire rubber duck universe.
Highlights Include: - Ducksune Ducku, who only listens to Metallica - Ryanland Duckling, who says "Amaze! Amaze! Amaze!" in his sleep - Ducky Barnes, who has prosthetic wing built by Duckbeth of the Untied Duckdom - Rubber Ducks' only natural predator: scissors - Duckzilla, who eats jeeps (and the rubber ducks inside of them) - Rubber Ducks can breathe underwater for 24 hours, but if they're in the water for longer than that, they mold.
Am I tired? Yes.
have two modes: write nothing for months or write a full short story of at least 1,000 words in a day.
On an unrelated note, I now have a short story that I don't have a place for, and a burning desire to share it somewhere.
Media I Love #3
Project Hail Mary both the book (written by Andy Weir) and
the movie (directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller)!
I first found this book while looking around on Goodreads. I thought the cover was cool, read the synopsis, and decided to shelve it for later. Then I saw the trailer. Immediately, my timeline of "I'll get to it when I get to it" was sped up to "I gotta read this now." I'm so glad I did. I love this book so much, and the movie is my favorite movie!
I feel like the movie specifically has been pretty well known (and for good reason!), but I still feel the need to put a spoiler warning here. I will be talking about the plot of Project Hail Mary in this ramble, so there are major spoilers!
My new favorite Ao3 tag is officially "Ryland Grace is a Leaky Space Blob."
The world would be a better place if we used more Rocky-isms.
Media I Love #2
The Arc of a Scythe Series by Neal Shusterman!
I've only read the main series, but these are some of the best books I've ever read. And no one really talks about them? It's a shame.
The series take place in a dystopia disguised as a utopia. In the future, humans transcended all forms of death. Natural death can no longer affect anyone. No one even bothers to use violence to get what they want because the Thunderhead, which is essentially the Cloud with sentience, takes care of everything for humanity; it has a personal relationship with almost every human being, and even offers guidance when asked. The two things that the Thunderhead refuses to govern are life and death. Humans take care of the life part of this pretty naturally, but death is another story. Humanity appoints legal killers, called scythes, to do this job for them. The Thunderhead doesn't even interact with scythes, so they're left to rule over themselves. Like any human-led organization, this turns south.
That's a brief summary, but there's so much I love about this series! If you want to go check it out yourself, I would recommend not reading more of this post. Talking about some of my favorite parts of this series goes into spoiler territory, and I advise reading this series blind. Seriously, there's a lot of things you wouldn't expect to happen that will be mentioned in some way.
I'm falling for all the april fools today ;-;
For people who have watched Arcane and have read the Arc of a Scythe series (for people who haven't read it, go read it! It's absolutely amazing)
Viktor vs. Greyson Tolliver?
Similarities, differences, favorite of the two, etc. I started reading The Toll and couldn't help but think about this.
I just watched the first two episodes of Agent Carter!! I had no clue this series existed until I decided to start watching the MCU, and I'm so glad I decided to pick it up. I didn't expect to see more of Peggy Carter, but now I need way more than what the two seasons of the show will give me.

BLOODY DEVASTATION by Phill C.! Also, Grace on Roblox!
I know Roblox games have a reputation. However, if you spend time looking around on the platform, you'll come across some real gems. Grace is one of those. In fact, it's my favorite game right now, on any platform.
This isn't about Grace as a whole (even though this game is one of the main reasons I still play Roblox at all and it should totally be recognized outside of the platform), but rather one small part of it.
If you don't care to read a whole ramble about this song (or read a ramble about a game with a heck of a lot of religious references [seriously, this game is inspired by the Bible and the Mandela Catalogue]), just know that my favorite part starts at 2:14 and ends at 2:52.
IT WAS FINE LIKE LESS THAN AN HOUR AGO WHAT
(edit: is this my sign to actually prioritize?)
