I’ve been seeing a lot of ads for a mobile game called “Episode – Choose Your Story”.
This is a game described by the developers as interactive game, where the player chooses the next path to the story line. This is not a new genre, actually I played something similar back in the 90s when I had my first computer. It was The Hobbit, an interactive text-based game.
Well someone at Episode Interactive LLC decided to run an ad based on this storyline. What’s going on here? I’m talking in terms of social media advertising.
1. Pandering to the LGBT crowd? (Niche advertising)
2. Stirring controversy to get free blog/press coverage? (Any PR is good PR)
3. The good ol'fashioned sex sells? (Sex does sell)
You be the judge!
