There are four constants in the world. The first one you’ll already know but let me tell you anyway. Every generation there is a group of hunters that use their voices to hunt and kill demons. They inspire hope within the general populace which strengthens the Honmoon and traps the demons and their king, Qwi-Ma, in their demon world. What’s the demon world? That’s a complicated question that we can ask again later. The hunters goal is to create the golden Honmoon, it’ll forever seal Qwi-Ma and the demons out. It takes centuries to achieve this and recently the Honmoon broke altogether. The current group “remade” the Honmoon. It’ll take another handful of decades before the world can be free of demons.
The rest of the constants you won’t know, so buckle in. Number two, there will always be more than just demons. Centuries ago some demons became stronger, developed their own powers and broke off from Qwi-Ma’s control. So now we have creatures you’d call, sirens, incubus, succubus, werewolves, vampires and so many more. These creatures aren’t common, but they are here. Living among regular people and having normal lives. Your neighbour could be a werewolf and you’d never know.
Number three, in every timeline there is a Prophet. That’s right, I said timeline. Multiple and parallel worlds exist. Almost every single world has a Prophet. This Prophet is always immortal, in the rare case in which they aren’t, they usually die without ever knowing they were more than a regular person. The Prophet in this world is an acquaintance of mine, he’s been around for the last century or so. The Prophet can see every possibility and option a person can take. They of course don’t go telling people about this but they will contact certain people and figures when it comes to things that could end an entire civilisation. Usually this is the hunters but not limited to them.
Last, and certainly the most unknown, every generation of hunters has at least one or more members fall in love with a vampire. Let me clarify a bit. Every single generation of hunters has at least one member whose soul is linked to a certain vampire. This vampire has been around for as long as the hunters have. They have co-existed since their creations. They are intertwined, interlinked. They are and will always be connected. Sometimes it’s one of them, sometimes it’s all three of them, regardless the hunters will fall in love with the vampire and the vampire will fall in love with them. Why? No fucking clue. When the next generation of hunters reach the age of twenty, any and all previous connection the vampire had with the last generation is snapped. Of course they still love them, but they are no longer tied together. Now their love and soul is connected to the new generation. The vampire is always burdened with explaining the situation and how it works, even though they barely know. Hunters and their vampire always lived happily together. Until now…
I am that vampire and I can tell you with full confidence that it is hell. Loving just to lose again, what’s the point? That’s exactly why I bid farewell to Mi-Yeong, my best friend and Jae, my lover or I suppose ex lover. They were the hunters for a short time, if you consider ten years to be short. When you’re a vampire that’s been alive for as long as I have ten years may as well be one. Hunters of the past usually get to serve for at least twenty before the title and power is passed on. I heard Mi-Yeong Ryu died, that’s why they stopped performing. A part of me felt guilty, I never reached out to give my condolences but I had cut ties, I couldn’t do it anymore. Watching the person I love die or grow old and push me towards the younger model. It was cruel. It wasn’t good.
So I moved back to France. My home, my original home… It felt different. Nothing is the same, I don’t recognise the people or the places, I don’t even know if I can call it home when I’ve spent nearly a century in Korea. Of course back when I became a vampire it was barely France, we were in the middle of the revolution. Korea wasn’t Korea either, but regardless. None of this is familiar. I’ve spent nearly thirty years here in France and it still feels like this… foreign concept. Why does my own home feel so strange..?
It was only a blip in my life to begin with now that I think about it… It still hurts. Maybe that’s why I caved so easily despite swearing to myself I’d never return. Seeing them… Huntrix. That’s the new hunters. They’re the new souls. Just watching them on my ancient television I could tell that they were all tied to me. The ache, the pull in my chest. It felt like my heart was going to rip itself out of my chest so it could run to them. It’s never been this bad. I let out a wince as I laid down for the night. I didn’t need sleep but it was peaceful at night, calming. Made me think I was asleep even if I wasn’t. A sharp stab pierced through me as I curled up into myself.
It has to be because we’re not in the same country. The distance was actually killing me. Yeah, that’s the only reason I went back, to stop the hurt in my body. To ease the grip on my heart. I wouldn’t make contact. I’d stay away from them, all I need to do is be in the same country. Then the pain will stop. Why else would I be looking up plane tickets? I don’t want to… I can’t see them. No matter what. I will not go anywhere near them.
I am Esme Trembaly. I will not fall. Never again.

Chapter 6 - Knees Weak, Arms Heavy
TW FOR HOMOPHOBIA AND USE OF THE WORD F*G AND D*KE IN THIS CHAPTER!
Lightsticks, shirts, hats. What other merch should we drop for the Saja Boys? The merch company is working on designs, all we have to do is supply what to put the designs on and sign off on the placement. I closed my eyes and leaned back in my chair.
“Darling, we gotta go to the next interview.” Romance shook me gently, causing me to sigh loudly. “Or you can stay here and we’ll do whatever we wan-”
“No. I’m coming.” I groan, standing up and walking ahead of the boy. “If I let you do whatever then you wouldn’t have a career.” I scoff and look at my phone, sending the email through. If we think of more ideas for merch it can be in a second launch.
“We’re not that hopeless.” Baby rolled his eyes and jumped in the limo. Yep, we’re rolling in style now.
I choose to be the bigger person and not say a word, I do shoot him a look though, as we head off to the next location. Minutes passed, not feeling long enough to truly rest as we arrived. The boys stumble out of the limo and I slowly step over them, Ben giggling a bit and helping them out. I led the idiots into the building and did a quick introduction between them and the hosts. The boys obviously did not pay attention and ran off to their makeup chairs as quickly as possible. Yay. I rubbed my eyes and looked back at my phone, scanning the emails. So many offers and proposals. At this point I need an assistant already!
“Eveeeeeeee!” Abs waved me over. I dragged my legs towards him and cocked a brow. “Look!” Abs shoved his phone in my face and on the screen was Zoey doing some solo work, rap battle underway.
“Okay?” I take a step back, staring at the buff man.
“Dude she’s like right next door!” Abs grinned, mischief on his face.
“Okay…?” I repeat but slower, not understanding where he was going with this.
“Go say hi for us.” Abs leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
“Why?” I raise a brow, trying to see where he was going with this.
“Dude, you get hella bored at these things. Go check out the competition!” Abs suggested, shit eating grin on his face.
“No thanks.” I roll my eyes and look away.
“C’mon, sounds fun.” Ben snuck up on me, making me jump.
“Jesus.” I mumble, stepping away from him.
“See! Even Benny bro knows what’s up!” Abs exclaimed, standing up and wrapping his arm around Ben. Ben’s face turned seven shades of pinks in a blink of an eye and smiled at me.
“Yeah, go on.” Ben had this knowing look in his eyes. If Abs wasn’t here he’d say some shit about going on a date with her or something. I know it.
“If it gets you two off my back then fine.” I slowly walked away as the two minute warning was happening. I guess I do have an hour or so before they’re done. I could use a break from staring at my phone. My feet dragged me outside and next door before I could even process it. A massive line of fans was forming, two big beefy dudes at the front. Security. I pushed my way through and waved at the two men.
“Hey, Saja Boys manager here!” I called out, hoping the name drop and my brief appearances on screen would be enough to get me in.
“Ha, nice try.” They pushed their sunglasses up further and kept blocking the crowd. Of course it couldn’t be that easy.
“C’mon guys, I can even give them a ring if you’d really like.” I offered to prove the truth to the guys however they acted like they couldn’t hear me. “Lovely” I roll my eyes and hesitantly turn to leave. It would have been nice to see Zoey again.
“Eve?!” A familiar voice calls out from behind me before being drowned out by adoring fans. I snap my head around and wave at Zoey. She bounced towards the security and whispered something in their ear. Within seconds I was being dragged inside by Zoey as the men blocked the crowd. Zoey looped our arms and skipped off with me towards the backstage. “What’re you doing here?” Zoey smiled brightly at me, stars in her eyes.
“Uh, I’m actually here to see you!” I nudged her a little, ducking my head so she couldn’t see the blush spreading.
“Really?!” Zoey squeaked out, squeezing my arm tightly.
“Yeah! Thought we could talk business…”
“Oh…” Zoey’s smile turned into a pout, her shoulders slumping.
“Or we can just hang out!” I quickly add, not wanting to see such a cute face so sad.
“Really?” Zoey looked up at me with her big, wide, brown puppy dog eyes. Like looking into a chocolate fountain…
“Um, yeah.” I awkwardly look away, embarrassed at how easily I’m falling for these girls…
“Perfect!” Zoey kept dragging me until we reached the dressing room.
I sat on the couch and leaned back, looking up at Zoey.
“So, what’re you doing here?” I raise a brow at her as she plops down next to me.
“Rap battle.” Zoey furrowed her brows and slammed her fist into her other hand.
“Right. Freestyle?”
“Yeah!” Zoey’s grin was so wide it looked like it hurt. “I get to do solo events like this sometimes.” Zoey crossed her legs, shoving her hands into her lap.
“Really? I’m surprised.” I laugh a bit.
“Why?” Zoey tilted her head. Oh god she’s just like the most adorable version of a puppy ever.
“Well, idol life is super strict.” I shrug, not seeing how it needs to be a question.
“True, but I guess as the most famous one we have a bit of leniency.” Zoey flopped back, melting into the couch. “Plus it’s so relaxing to not worry about idol stuff. Y’know, when I’m out here doing solo events, it feels less stressful.” Zoey shifted around until her head was in my lap, staring up at me. “Does that make sense?”
“Uh… y-yeah…” I mumble, mindlessly nodding. Mira was sexy, Zoey is so stinking adorable I think I’m getting cuteness aggression. “I guess everyone needs to relax, in their own ways.” I nervously smile at the idol, my heart beating out of my chest.
“Exactly. I can’t exactly go to a movie or theme park or anything. Gotta get creative.” Zoey scrunched her nose, thinking. “I love Mira and Rumi but sometimes it’s nice to get away.”
“Yeah. I get that. I love Ben and I like the Saja Boys but being around them all the time is draining. Social battery doesn’t last forever.” I nod along.
“It’s not even that. I just like to be able to leave and come back to them. We don’t need to be glued to the hip.” Zoey beamed up at me.
“Mm, I get where you’re coming from.” I slowly reach my hand up, pushing a stray hair out of Zoey’s face. “Having that level of trust and comfort. Knowing no matter how many mistakes you make they’ll always be there. Knowing you can go out, be your own people but at the end of the day they’re there to help you pick up the pieces of yourself, if you need.”
Zoey’s face went red as Eve’s gentle hand caressed her face. Eve’s eyes met hers and it was like the world stopped. Zoey couldn’t breath, couldn’t think. All Zoey could do was somehow, someway take in the beauty that is Eve. How anyone could hate this gorgeous woman was beyond Zoey’s comprehension. She was beautiful, her freckles like looking at a million constellations and Zoey wanted to study them all.
“Sorry.” I chuckled a bit, realising I was getting carried away as I took my hand away. Zoey was staring, blinking at me.
“It’s okay.” Zoey whispered, sitting up a bit. Our faces close, almost touching. I could feel her breath on my lips. Could practically taste the lip gloss she was wearing. My breath hitched. As if we were magnets, drawn to each other forever, we slowly started to lean in.
“You’re on in five!” A voice cut through the air, a loud knock on the door. I tore myself away from Zoey, leaning my head against the back of the couch. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in.
“Sorry…” Zoey mumbled, scrambling to stand up. “I… should, y’know.” Zoey fiddled with her hands as I looked at her.
“Yeah…” I slowly nod my head, standing up. “Of course.” I must have been imagining things. There’s no way she wanted to kiss me.
“I’ll see you later?” Zoey asked, hope in her eyes.
“Yeah! Sure.” I nod more firmly and walk to the door. I hold it open for her. She nervously smiled and started walking to the stage, I quietly tried to head out the back. Key word tried.
“Wait! You aren’t gonna stay?” Zoey pouted at me, having turned around to look at me.
“Oh! Uh…” I pulled out my phone, the boys should still be in their interview. “Sure, I’ll stay.”
“Watch offstage! Cause, it’d be closer and stuff…” Zoey stuttered out, rubbing the back of her neck.
“Right! Sure!” I slowly followed her, keeping a healthy distance between us. “Break a leg!” I call out as she rushes on stage. She turned around and gave me a small wave.
Zoey and some guy named Beatmaster were going head to head. Beatmaster is a stupid name. I rolled my eyes at the announcement. Zoey quickly glanced back at me, I shot her a thumbs up.
“You got this.” I mouthed to her, rocking on my feet. The music started, blasting through the area. Within seconds Zoey starts rapping, her flow incredible, her rhymes fantastic. She was eating this man alive and it was one of the hottest things I’ve seen. The way the music flowed through her was incredible. To think of rhymes that quickly took a lot of skill. She made it look like it was easy.
“Everyone give it up for Zoey!” The announcer called out, pointing to Zoey who was waving at the crowd. Oh, the round’s over already. I clapped loudly for her, grinning. Zoey’s gaze found me, like she was making sure I was still watching.
“Thank you!” Zoey called out to everyone before the music started back up for the other guy to start. The difference in their music choices was night and day, Zoey’s had a good steady beat, on the faster side, wasn’t anything too special because her words are the thing that makes her raps good. His music was fast, aggressive and loud. He smirked at Zoey, before looking past her to me. Why was he looking at me? The guy snatched the mic from the host and started his rap. He had a good flow but his rhymes weren’t nearly as good. It was noticeable by how the crowd was reacting, he didn’t have the same heat Zoey does. I could see his face getting red from anger, his brows furrowing and glaring at Zoey. His smirked twisted into downright evil as he let out his next line,
“Tryna rap like the master? You can’t even take dick that’s not plastic. I’m killing these flows, this dyke is gonna have a taste of real dic-” He was cut off by the music shutting down and the host snatching his mic and the crowd booing.
“We don’t tolerate hate speech here. You’re disqualified!” The host called out, making everyone in the room cheer. I glared at the dickwad and crossed my arms.
“C’mon! What? Is she too much of a prissy princess to handle it?” ‘Beatmaster’ called out, laughing.
“Enough.” The host placed a hand on the guy’s chest.
“Don’t touch me! C’mon, you guys really gonna vote a fag over a man?” He turned and addressed the audience. Everyone started booing and throwing their trash at the guy. Zoey turned away from the stage, tears in her eyes. Oh that’s it. Before I could even register it I marched on stage towards the guy. “Look! Zoey the princess needs her dyke girlfriend to save he-” He couldn’t get out another word before my fist slammed into the side of his jaw.
“Say that shit again. I dare you.” I glared up at him, my height not working in my favour to try and intimidate him. The crowd went silent.
“Say what? Dy-” Within a blink of an eye I swiftly lifted my leg and kicked him in the balls. He collapsed on the ground, holding his package.
“Sorry, what was that? I can’t hear you from down there.” I bend down, hands resting on my knees. I smirked at him and whispered, “Leave before this dyke cuts your dick off.” He stared up at me in horror and crawled off the stage. There was a beat, complete silence filled the venue, I could hear my heart racing. Suddenly cheers surrounded the area, excitement growing. I stood up properly and turned my head away from the stage, doing my best to avoid the spotlight following me.
“Eve?” Zoey mumbled, staring at me in shock, tears still in her eyes.
“Wanna stay or go?” I quietly ask her, turning my back to the audience, blocking her from the fans. I tilt my head and look down slightly, our eyes connecting. Her face was pink and a few tears fell down her cheeks.
“Go, please…” Zoey mumbled, reaching for my hand. I quickly grabbed hers and dragged her off stage, I didn’t stop until we were in her dressing room.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause drama.” I quickly apologised. “I shouldn’t have hit that guy, it was completely unprofessional of me and I’m sure you don’t need me to fight your battles.” I started rambling on and on, gripping Zoey’s hand tight. “Not to mention the news outlets and gossip podcasts are going to go crazy! I didn’t mean to make it worse for you or for people to think you’re gay or for people to think you’d date someone like me-”
“I like girls.” Zoey cut me off. “Well, guys and girls and anyone really. I’m pan. I haven't told the fans yet. I thought they’d hate me but it seems the opposite…” Zoey took a step forward. “Thank you. I… I froze.” Zoey mumbled, tears building up again. Instinctively I reached forward and wiped the few tears that fell.
“I hate people like that. They boil my blood. I shouldn’t have hit him. It’ll have a lot of repercussions on both of us and our groups.” I whisper, not trusting my voice.
“I don’t care. I can’t thank you enough. I’m glad you hit him.” Zoey rushed forward and buried her face in my chest.
“I’d do it again.” I hold her tightly against me, not wanting to let go.
“I know if I ever do tell the fans I’ll have to get used to this-”
“You never have to get used to it. Never. You don’t deserve to be treated like shit.” I furrowed my brows and pulled her closer.
“Thank you.” Zoey softly cried into my chest. “Stay, for a bit…” It was meant to be a question but it sounded more like a plea.
“Of course.” Anything for her…
We eventually found our way to the couch, staying like that until I got called away by the boys. We said our goodbyes and Zoey wrote her number on my hand, promising to help deal with any repercussions.
“Dude, you’re famous.” Ben chuckled as he turned his phone to me. I groaned as I walked up to them.
“Don’t. It’s going to be a nightmare to deal with. I don’t need any of you making me feel bad for it.” I sighed and quickly pulled my own phone out to go through a few emails and contacts that could help.
“Why would we make you feel bad? We should celebrate.” Romance mentioned, flicking his hair back.
“I’m glad you guys see it that way, but I’ve hurt your reputation here. I need to fix it.” I nervously bit my lip.
“Do that later. Right now we celebrate.” Jinu wrapped an arm around me and started dragging me out.
“Let’s get drunk as hell!” Abs cheered, racing to the car.
“We have shit to do tomorrow, let’s just have dinner.” Baby scoffed, leaning against Ben.
“Lame.” Abs rolled his eyes.
“Thanks guys.” I mumbled as we hopped into the limo. Despite how shit this day has been because of bigotmaster there’s also been plenty of ups. Plus, maybe I have a chance with Zoey? No, just cause she’s not straight doesn’t mean she’ll want me. Why would she? Fuck I’m falling hard.
I take requests!

Question for the polytrix x oc fic im working on. OC is a vampire and is essentially soulmates with 1 or more of the hunters (in this case all of huntrix) but would you consider it weird that she knew Rumi's mother (as a friend) just to then date her later in life.
The OC is mentally stuck at 22 but has the knowledge of someone that's been alive for 100 years. I don't find it weird but maybe yall do?
A WIP of a new polytrix X oc idea I had. Vampire OC and a story full of angst.

“I already gave you ten. We gotta eat then we can go. Okay?” Ben chuckled, shaking my tired form.
“Ugh, fine.” I sit up, rubbing my eyes. “Shower, then food.” I mumble, dragging myself to the bathroom.
“Don’t take long!”
I let the hot water sink into my skin. It burned a bit, I didn’t mind though. Reminds me I’m alive. Plus it wakes me up. I run a hand down my face and look at the shower floor. How’d my life flip so drastically? Went from being a miserable, unemployed, lazy motherfucker, to someone that is busy 24/7, employed, and has no time to relax. One small thing changed the course of my life forever. Call that shit the butterfly effect. What would happen if I didn't go to that interview? Only God knows, if he exists.
Stepping out I dry my hair in a rush and run the towel down my body. Stepping out of the bathroom I throw some clothes on and head for the kitchen.
“Is that bacon? God I could kiss you.” I giggle, sitting down, grabbing a large portion of bacon.
“I know. I’m irresistible.” Ben placed pancakes on the table and sat across from me. “You passed out so quickly I couldn’t even ask. What do you mean Huntrix is crushing on Saja?” Ben raised a brow, helping himself to a larger portion than me. His stomach was a bottomless pit.
“They’re totally crushing.”
“You say that. How?” Ben chuckled a bit, worry in his eyes.
“Well, I didn’t actually invite them to that game show. Their outfits? Yeah they looked sexy. I’m sure the Saja Boys noticed.” I stuff some bacon in my mouth, looking up at Ben. “And-”
“Don’t speak with your mouth full.” Ben cringed, looking away. I quickly finished my mouthful and started again,
“And I think they want me to be their wingman. I’ll find out tonight.” Ben looked sad. Upset. “Uh, don’t worry. I’m not gonna do it.” Ben lit up a bit at that. “It’d feel wrong. Like I’m selling my boys. Also, I know you like them.” I gently continue. “I’m not going to give them a chance to snatch them away from you.”
“They’re straight. I wouldn’t stand a chance.” Ben looked dejected.
“Oh, so you’re blind! Like, we need to get you a new prescription.” I tease, rolling my eyes.
“Wha-”
“Dude. Abby is at least bisexual, probably pan. He’ll fuck anything. Romance? Gay twink. Jinu? Confused, but bi. Mystery is hella gay. Baby is the only one I can’t tell with.” I reach for a pancake.
“I, what?” Ben stared at me in shock.
“What? I pay attention. Gotta be the best manager.” I smirk.
“Well, your gaydar is wrong.” Ben blushed and looked away. “Besides, what if Huntrix actually likes you? Hm?”
“Ha! Oh-” I start choking on my food and slap my chest. “Funny. No way.” I roll my eyes. I grab my plate, placing it in the sink. A problem for later.
“No way? You’re hot.” Ben stood, putting the other plates away as well.
“Nope.” I quickly say, grabbing the car keys and leaving before Ben could argue. This is gonna be one long day.
Disaster after disaster. Mystery couldn’t get his hair to stay down, causing a nosebleed from Ben and me needing to buy a tub of gel so he keeps his allure. Jinu disappeared after an interview, he was almost late to the next one. Ben’s nosebleed from earlier got on Romance’s shirt so he refused to wear it, leading me to cleaning it and him still refusing, leading me to buy a new one. Abs fell face first while walking out for an interview, the fans saw it all, it’s viral. To top off this hellish day Baby called a fan stupid. Stupid! Who is he?! Ugh! Then we had to do an emergency live stream apologising and saying it was some new slang. Fuck ridiculous. All I wanted to do was lay down.
As I lay down on the couch a knock came from the door. I let out a loud groan and rubbed my face. I quickly got up and swung the door up.
“What?” I hissed, glaring at whoever was ruining my night.
“Damn. What crawled up your pussy and died?” Mira smirked, folding her arms. I quickly fixed my posture and looked up at her.
“Oh! Sorry.” Why was she here?
“You ready?” Mira raised a brow, looking down at me.
“Huh?” I furrowed my brows at her before my eyes widened. “Oh! Uh…” I look down at my pajamas. No, oh god. I’m wearing the Huntrix ones!
“Cute outfit.” Mira chuckled a bit, leaning against the doorway. “Long day? You looked exhausted.” Mira’s expression softened a bit.
“Uh, yeah. Sorry, I totally forgot. Just give me a minute?” I ask, hoping she doesn’t think I’m a total loser.
“We don’t have to go out tonight.” Mira suggested. She looked so fancy! Oh god! Is she taking me to a fancy place?!
“No! I, uh, I wouldn’t make you waste all this time coming down here then we don’t even go. I’ll be done in a few. Come in.” I quickly stepped aside and backed up. Mira carefully stepped in, she was wearing a long black dress that hugged her figure so fucking well. My face heated up, becoming red.
“Cat got your tongue?” Mira teased, smirking at me.
“No, I’m going to get ready!” I stuttered out, rushing into my bedroom. What the fuck do I wear?!
Mira looked around the place, it was small but cozy. Walking over to the kitchen there were documents of Saja Boys' next interviews and deals laid out. Mira hummed, looking around to make sure the place was clear, she picked up a paper and read it. Nothing special but it could prove helpful to be in the area so no demons appear, well besides those Saja freaks. Mira snapped a pic and sent it to her girls. She quickly dropped the paper as footsteps approached.
“Yo, Eve! When’s that date of yours coming? Or do you still think it’s totally platonic?” A male voice called out, a small chuckle escaping him at the end of his sentence. Turning the corner was a half naked man, only in a towel, walking into the living space. “Eve- Oh fuck!” The man stumbled back, falling on the ground.
“Hey.” Mira smirked, holding back a laugh.
“Hi! Sorry!” The man quickly got up and rushed out. Mira could hear the sounds of fighting coming from the next room. “Why didn’t you tell me she was here?!”
“You normally take five years in the shower! I thought we’d be gone by the time you got out!” Eve’s voice rings out from her, their(?), room.
“She gave me a fucking heart attack!”
“I’m sorry! I fucking forgot it was tonight! I wasn’t ready! I’m still not ready because you're here distracting me!” Eve whined, followed by a thud.
“Everything okay?” Mira took a step closer. Rumi had told her and Zoey that Eve grew up in America and has known this Ben guy since they were kids. However it was hard for Mira to rule “Ben” out as a demon.
“Yes!” Eve’s voice squeaked out, followed by a more hushed tone, “Ben either get the fuck out or help me decide what to wear.” Mira continued snooping in the living area. Magazines, old photos, receipts. Not much of interest. Mira picked up a photo, it showed a young Eve and Ben hugging, on the back there was a note. Mira sat down on the couch and started to read.
Dear Evelyn, I send you this photo in hopes you and Ben return to America. Your marriage with Jacob was meant to be 2 months ago.
Mira paused, eyes widening. Was her English failing her? Does that actually say Eve was meant to be married?
You need to forget this sinful life you two are living and return home. Stop dragging Ben down with you. He was the perfect boy until you started putting ideas in his head. His parents are furious. Come back or we will find you. We already found your address. This is your only warning.
Was that a threat? Mira quickly snapped a picture to show to Zoey. Her English was better, hopefully Mira was just reading this whole thing wrong. Mira quickly placed the photo where it came from as Eve exited her room. Standing up, Mira smiled down at the girl.
“Um, is it good?” Eve chuckled, looking down at herself with a nervous glance. She was wearing a black buttons up shirt, red tie, black dress pants and her hair was slicked back. Mira could feel her heart skip a beat. Eve had a more masculine style, it wasn’t hard to tell. It suited her perfectly.
“Perfect.” Mira mumbled, walking up to me. “Except for this.” Mira grabbed my wrist and started rolling up the sleeve. My face flushed red at the gesture.
“Ah, sorry. It’s a little long on the arms.” I tried to force out a laugh but it got caught in my throat.
“Should get it tailored, have the arms shortened. Bring the shirt in a bit.” Mira fixed both sleeves and started pulling at my shirt, making it tighter against me. “Hug your figure better.” Mira was still mumbling, almost like she was in her own world.
“Uh, I’ll think about it.” I took a step back and rubbed my neck. There was a reason it was baggy, no one needs to see every roll in my body.
“Sorry.” Mira seemed to have finally snapped out of it and offered a hand. “You ready?”
“Yeah.” I smiled at her. Her eyes were a similar brown colour to Rumi however they were darker. Almost black. Like staring into a forest at night. “Don’t wait up.” I quickly yelled out to Ben as Mira dragged me out. Sitting in front of my place was none other than a limo.
“After you.” Mira opened the door, waiting for me.
“So fancy.” I teased, sliding inside.
“Only the best,” Mira joked, “for you…” The last part was muttered under her breath, I could barely catch it.
“Well, where to?”
“You’ll see.”
The light was low, I could only really see the table in front of me and Mira. We were directed to a secluded place, there was no one else around besides various different staff. This was really fancy, too fancy.
“S-so…” I cleared my throat and took a sip of water. “This is… nice.” I tried to make some sort of conversation but honestly I was too nervous.
“Yeah? It’s my favourite place to eat out.” Mira casually mentioned, not even looking at the menu. “Wine?” Mira tilted her head a bit, staring me down. Damn she was scary.
“Oh, uh, no thanks.” I buried my head in the menu, trying to find the cheapest thing on the menu so I don’t break my pockets. I could feel Mira’s intense gaze on me, my hands started to shake. I bit down on my bottom lip, taking it into my mouth, anxiously chewing on it.
“We can leave. If you don’t like it.”
“No! Just, I wasn't expecting something this fancy!” I quickly stopped her from finishing her thought. “I’m so broke.” I mumble under my breath. Why is a salad forty bucks?!
“I’m paying, don’t stress.” Mira waved a waiter over. “Get us the dessert menu as well please. We’ll order all at once.” The waiter bowed and ran off. There’s not even dessert here! I feel like there’s a million options already!
“No, you don’t-”
“I’m paying.” Mira left no room for arguing. I could feel my face get red, god is this the princess treatment I’ve been begging you for? Thank you!
“Okay…” I’m barely able to squeak out an answer. “I’ll just have whatever you get. There’s way too many options.” I chuckled, sitting the menu down, not wanting to make any more decisions after this awful day.
“Okay.” Mira smirked, as the waiter walked over I leaned back and took a sip of water. “We’ll have the couples special please.” The water caught in my throat as I started choking. I quickly brought a napkin to my face and started coughing. Mira quickly glanced over at the dessert menu that was brought, “after that we’ll have the cake of the day.” Mira handed the menus back over and smirked at me.
I looked away and patted my chest. This woman was trying to kill me. Looking back at her, she was already staring at me. Her eyes could see into my soul, or at all my insecurities. Mira opted out of her usual hairstyle and went with a single ponytail this time. She looked like she just walked out of a photoshoot.
“So, was there something you wanted to talk about?” I hesitantly asked, not wanting to ruin the moment. More so wanting to stay in the ignorant bliss before she asks me something Saja related.
“You.”
“Oh…” I looked away, embarrassed. “Sorry, you just seemed so interested in Saja.”
“More interested in you. Rumi said you’re from America?” Mira leaned back in her seat, staring at me.
“Yeah, some nowhere town. Not that important.” I shrug, looking around.
“Close with your family?”
“Nah. They don’t like me much.” I look down at the table feeling heavy weight on my chest.
“Me too.”
“Guess we have something in common.” I glanced up at her, she looked deep in thought. Her mind was elsewhere. Before I had a chance to say something the food started pouring out of the kitchen.
I chuckled at a story Mira told me about Zoey falling into a zoo enclosure.
“Why was she that close?” I asked, laughter tearing through me.
“She really wanted to see the turtles. She was soaked when she got out, it was hilarious.” Mira giggled a bit before being interrupted by dessert.
“Gosh, I’m so full. I don’t know if I can even stomach cake.” I looked away and cringed.
“C’mon, everyone has room for dessert.” Mira made an excellent argument.
“Fine, only a bit though.” I roll my eyes and reach for a fork. It was a delicious looking buttermilk slice, simple and classic. Hopefully it tastes as good as it looks. Before I could dig in Mira took the fork from me and got a big bite. She hovered the fork by my face.
“Say, ah.” Mira’s eyes flickered down to my lips, my face returning to its red state. I blinked, not believing this.
“Mira, I’m a big girl, I can use a fork.” I roll my eyes again. Mira says nothing, just slowly swaying the fork back and forth. “Really?” I ask, not understanding what she was doing. Mira hummed and looked up at me, eyes narrowed, focusing on me. On my eyes, my movements. My heart raced. Her eyes, god her eyes. They had this almost sultry look to them. Why would she look at me like that? With absolute desire and need. Yearning.
“C’mon, cutie. My arm is getting tired.” A lie. She was an idol, they have incredible arm strength to hold their mics for long performances.
“Ah…” I slowly opened my mouth, keeping her gaze. Her pupils dilated. The inner black unable to be distinguished from her brown iris. The cake touched my lips before entering my mouth. It was sweet, not sickly. The perfect balance. I wrap my lips around the fork, making sure that nothing will spill as she pulls away. Mira stared at my lips as I chewed. My face is hot, red. I felt like I was burning alive. I nodded slowly. “Good.” I mumble through the cake.
Mira smirked, reaching down to grab more cake. Slowly she brought the cake to her own lips, an indirect kiss. A moment of intimacy exchanged between us. She softly moaned and nodded her head, agreeing with me. Following that was silence. Not awkward, comfortable yet filled with tension. Green eyes meeting brown. The emptiness in my eyes felt like they were filled with her warmth. Her darkness somehow provided a light to me.
“Your bill?” We both snapped out of it as the waiter tried to hand it to Mira. Mira snatched it, the waiter running off.
“Uh, it’s good… cake…” I awkwardly mutter, not sure how to break the tension in the air.
“It is.” Mira mumbled, her eyes still staring me down. I quickly glanced at my phone.
“Shit. It’s late. We should… go.” My hurried exclamation dying out as I realise I don’t want to leave this moment.
“Yeah, I guess we should.” Mira stood, offering me a hand. I took it in mine, her hands were soft. Her long fingers intertwined with mine, locking us together. We walked slowly, not wanting this night to end. Mira paid and drove me back home. I stand at my front door, not wanting to say goodbye yet, but having to.
“Goodnight.” I stare up at her, reaching behind me for the doorknob.
“Goodnight. Sleep well.” Mira smiled softly at me. A stark contrast compared to her normal look. I wait a moment, for something, anything to happen. For her to prove this tension wasn’t in my head. She slowly backs up, waiting to see me go inside but not confirming a thing for me.
I smile and walk in, as soon the door shuts I lean against it. My body sliding down, my back against the door as I sit there. How silly of me to think Mira would want to kiss me. I throw my head back, staring at the ceiling, tears forming.
“Eve? How’d it go?” Ben called out, still in his room. I took a shaky breath in and wiped my face.
“Went well! I’ll tell you about it later.” It’s a struggle to keep my voice steady but I’m able to. I let out a deep sigh, standing. I chewed on my lip, slowly walking to my room. The taste of iron filled my mouth. I have things to do. Mira and whatever just happened can wait.

This is short compared to my other works but I wanted to write something down for Mira's bday even if I'm in a writing rut! Enjoy <33

“Wakey, wakey!” Zoey shook Mira’s shaking form, Rumi and I stood at the door. Rumi had a big plate of chocolate chip pancakes, Mira’s favourite. I held the recording phone. It wasn’t for the fans or the media, it was just for us. To remember this day.
“Five more minutes.” Mira mumbled, rolling over to bury her face into the pillow.
“C’mon, my love.” I called out. Mira sighed and sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
“Happy birthday!” The three of us called out as the pink haired beauty queen stared at us all.
“You’re all dorks.” Mira hid her blushing face in her hands, shaking her head.
“We’re your dorks.” Zoey giggled, crushing Mira in a hug. Mira pried Zoey off, much to Zoey’s complaint. Mira gave the short girl a kiss as an apology before approaching us.
“Thank you.” She whispered, bending down to give Rumi and I a peck.
“Of course. You deserve it.” Rumi smiled, pushing the plate a little closer.
“There’s no way I’m eating all those by myself.” Mira grabbed the plate and left the room.
“We’ll help!” Zoey bounced after her. I pressed stop on the recording, smiling down at the phone. Today’s gonna be the best day.
Best day indeed. We ate, we napped, we suffocated Mira in cuddles. The sun was setting and the moon slowly rose as we flicked the lights off and lit the candles.
“Happy birthday.” Rumi placed the cake in front of Mira carefully. Mira’s face was illuminated by the candles, the flame casting highlights onto her sharp features. Mira sniffed, tears welling up.
“Mira?” I asked, leaning forward to wipe the tears before they had a chance to fall. “What’s wrong?” I mumbled, putting my phone down to focus on her.
“Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It’s perfect.” Mira weakly smiled.
“But-” Zoey had no chance to speak as Mira cut her off.
“I never thought I could have a birthday that didn’t end with screaming. Today has been… So perfect.” Mira smiled at us, letting a few tears fall.
“Aw.” Zoey couldn’t help but tear up as well.
“All of your birthdays will be like this now.” Rumi leaned into Mira’s side, giving her a tight squeeze.
“Not getting rid of us anytime soon.” I chuckle, taking a step back to capture the moment. “Now, say cheese.” I watched Mira lean forward and Rumi lean back, giving our birthday princess the spotlight.
Mira smiled for the camera, I quickly took a photo. It was perfect, just like today. The flames lit Mira up like she was a goddess. The focus was on her, but you could still see Zoey and Rumi by her sides. Her girls, not leaving her ever. I quickly set up the phone and rushed to sit next to them, wanting to be able to look back and see that I was here for her too. Zoey giggled as she rushed forward, kissing Mira all over her face. Rumi was laughing and I just sat there. Taking in the moment as the phone clicked, at the same time Mira blew out the candles, closing this chapter of her life and starting a new one. A better one.
Hey guys, not dead. Just been super busy <//3 Im tryna get back into the swing of writing.
Send in your requests and ill tackle those first to get the motivation <33
Another year of being unclaimed. Yay! So glad. What’s the point of knowing you have a godly parent if they’re never going to claim you? Seems stupid to me. Other than that, camp is really fun! I have my best friend here. Collin, he’s an Aphrodite kid and my age. No, I don't have a crush on him. I like girls. I think. Some days guys are cool, most days girls are cool. Whatever, not important. What is important is that Collin is approaching me quickly.
“Kali!” Collin waved at me, rushing forward. Collin had soft features, although you could say that’s because he’s twelve. Regardless he was cute, these striking blue eyes and sadly a very poorly cut bowlcut. One day he’ll ditch it and be unstoppable. He’s about 5’2, hasn’t hit his growth spurt yet he claims. He was scrawny, no muscles. He hates sports and training, he gets it from his mother. He’s wearing the obnoxiously bright orange shirt we all wear, blue jeans and he had his camp necklace on as well. He has three beads, his beads start with the Greek trireme on fire, then moves to a winged shoe and his last one for now is a bow and arrow. “How was the trip?” His voice was on the softer side, he never really spoke too loud unless he’s trying to get my attention.
“It always sucks.” I scoff, looking away. “It sucks travelling from Cali to here.” Collin snickered, he always found it funny that my name is Kali and I’m from Cali. I rolled my blue eyes, they were also bright but Collin had a certain piercing look to his eyes. I also had soft features but once again, it’s mostly due to us being twelve. My hair reaches down to my back, a nice auburn colour. I usually wore it down unless I was training, then I’d put it in a pony. I hate doing it sometimes. Clarisse likes to call me Dumbo cause she thinks my ears are big. I was 5’3, a single inch taller than Collin and something I’ll brag about forever. My voice was rougher than most girls my age, but I never really cared for those things. I was wearing the same stupid shirt but had overall’s on, thankfully covered most of the brightness. The shirt drowned me, I was wearing a size too big and was very thin. I had two extra beads on my necklace. I joined two years prior, so I also had a pine tree, don’t ask, and a centaur in a dress. They each had meaning but I don’t care enough to relive memories right now.
“Maybe don’t live so far away.” Collin teased, nudging my shoulder.
“Yet I’m always here before you.” I smirk, looking back at him.
“Rude.” He pouts, walking away.
“Don’t be a baby.” I laugh, following behind him. The summer had just started, there was no quest yet, no real training either. Just kids being kids.
“Kali! Wanna train that sword swing later?” Luke, the oldest camper here, called out.
“I hate swords!” I groan. If I had to fight I much preferred a blunt object, or even my fists.
“C’mon!” He chuckled at me, he knew how I felt and he told me several times it’s too dangerous.
“Maybe.” I scoff, throwing my arm around Collin as I let him guide us wherever he wanted.
“Mother, thank you for this meal.” It was dinner, time was flying past. That’s what happens when you’re having fun or whatever. Collin was currently giving up some of his food before he could eat. Oh, I didn’t mention the creepy ritual we do at every meal? Yeah we have to give a portion of our meals to our godly parents. What if we don’t know our parents? Pick one. Well, that’s what I do. I usually thank Hermes for welcoming the unclaimed kids, but sometimes I pick a random god and have fun. Collin walked off to the Aphrodite table. Oh, I didn’t mention we were segregated into different tables and cabins based on our godly parents? Yeah, all the unclaimed and Hermes kids have to share a cramped cabin due to the ever rising number of unclaimed campers. Once again, yay!
“Thanks Hera, for being the only reasonable one and not having demigod kids.” I scraped some food off and went to join one of the two Hermes tables. Yeah, that’s how many kids there are and these aren’t small tables, they’re meant to sit at least fifty campers at one. Yet we share two cramped tables. I always hated sitting here, the twins tried to steal my food, despite having enough on their plates. Who are the twins? The Stoll twins, Conner and Travis. They’re famous for their pranks, classic Hermes kids. Luke’s the counselor of the Hermes cabin though. He’s been here for a while and he’s the oldest. It’s not always by age though, the Athena cabin has a counsellor that’s my age. I couldn’t imagine being in charge of a bunch of snotty brats. Maybe I just hate kids…
After dinner we have the campfire. Everyone gathers around to sing and talk and just hang out. So thankfully I get to rejoin Collin as we laugh at Luke’s terrible singing. The Apollo kids lead the songs but a lot of people join in. It’s fun I guess? I’m not really a singer, so I don’t find it that enjoyable. No speakers by the way. Just guitars and voices. The only speakers at camp are the overhead ones that announce food times. Technology is strictly banned. Well, that’s what they say but I’ve seen just about every Hermes kid on a phone. Me too, though. As if I’m not gonna keep a phone on me for emergencies. I try not to use it, I have seen the effects of it first hand. Aka, a giant monster crashed into my school and tried to kill me. Never again.
My mother had to transfer me out after that. Oh, I didn’t mention her. My mother is a saint. She donates to charity, runs fundraisers for the less fortunate. I strive to be like her every day. She’s the type of person to give a homeless guy a hundred bucks without worrying if they’re gonna buy drugs. She will then return the next day and hand out food, clothes and water. Like I said, a saint. I sadly look nothing like her. She has black hair, sharp features, and is tall and muscular. I asked her once how she got all those muscles and she laughed and said it’s because she’s a superhero. Okay, yeah, I asked her when I was like six and didn’t bother to again. Maybe when I get back I will?
The first few days passed by quickly, I had training with Luke, hung out with Collin, got yelled at by Clarisse. A typical summer! Until last night. A boy had come carried through the barrier in the rain. It didn’t rain in here, the barrier prevented it. The rain persisted outside though. Drenched and with a crying Grover, local Satyr and the coolest one, they were dragged to the infirmary and Collin had snuck in to look at the new kid.
“That’s creepy.” I mumble, staring at my best friend.
“I know! How was he able to break the minotaur horn so easily-”
“No, no. You’re the creepy one.” I clarify, chuckling a bit.
“What?” He stuttered, looking at me in shock.
“You snuck in, watched him sleep, then spoke to him as soon as he woke up!” I can’t contain the laughter anymore as I double over, wiping away fake tears.
“I’m not creepy.” He stammered, looking around to hide his embarrassment. “Besides, he was awake for like two seconds!”
“You totally are if you’re stalking people!” I nudged him.
“Whatever. We have capture the flag soon, excited?” He smirked at me, he knew I loved hitting people and winning.
“Duh! This year I’m going to be the reason we win.” I giggle, looking around. My gaze stopped on the Athena counselor, she was currently walking to the infirmary. Looks like everyone knows about him already.
“If we’re on the same team.” He pouts, walking off towards the training grounds.
“Well, it’s always a coin flip on which side gets the Hermes and unclaimed kids. Just cross your fingers.” Collin stuck his tongue out at me. I faked a gasp and walked faster towards him. Within moments he runs off. “Get back!” I laugh, chasing down my best friend and potential team mate. Before we could run too far Luke stopped me.
“You’re not ditching me are you?” He raised a brow at me, looking between me and Collin.
“C’mon, let me hit something with my fists!” I complained, throwing my head back and groaning.
“Not gonna happen! It’s too dangerous.” Luke scoffed, looking over at Collin. “Tell her!”
“Getting into that close range is really dangerous.” Collin shrugged, going to sit on the benches.
“Well, what’s her face uses a dagger! How is that so different!” I stomped to the field, grabbing “my” sword. They never feel right in my hands. The weight was off or I couldn’t grip it properly.
“Annabeth has been training with that since she was a kid.” Luke grabs his sword and swings it effortlessly.
“Well, I’ve been using my fists to beat bullies since I was a kid!” I grabbed the shield, getting into place.
“Yeah, bullies. Mortals. Not monsters.” Luke gestured for me to come at him.
“Well maybe if a certain someone let me practice more I could do so against monsters as well!” I rush forward, swinging wildly. Luke easily dodged. He swiped at my legs, I quickly jumped and went over his sword.
“Doesn’t work like that.” Luke shrugged, pushing forward to blitz me. I throw my shield up, blocking the attack and then push off, sending him back. I wasn’t bad, my techniques for dodging, blocking and maneuvering are good. I rival Luke in these aspects. However I can’t use a sword like everyone else. It wasn’t like I was terrible, it was just barely passing average. We tried bows but that went way worse. Almost shot Grover in the eye.
“Maybe I’m like, a kid of whatever god is in charge of hand to hand combat!” I laugh, running forward and jumping, aiming for a slam attack. Luke quickly rolls out of the way and aims his sword at the back of my neck.
“Sorry Kali, not today.” Luke jabs my neck slightly, no real pain but a win for him.
“Maybe I’m just cursed.” I shrug, not really caring.
“Yeah right.” Luke throws an arm around my shoulders. “Keep practicing, you’re good.”
“Not great.” I mumble, looking anywhere else.
“No, but with practice you’ll get there.” Luke shakes my shoulders gently. Collin strolled up, grin wide.
“Why does it matter? Don’t see me use a sword.” He had that cheeky look on his face.
“Oh, I’m a kid of Aphrodite! I can just bat my eyelashes at people and they’ll stop!” I mock him, shaking my head.
“You’re just jealous.” He poked me in the shoulder. I stifled a laugh.
“Totally!” Collin frowned as Luke bursted into laughter.
It’s been two days since that kid got here. Everyone is getting curious, he hasn’t left the infirmary the entire time. Collin keeps sneaking in to visit him, whenever I ask Colling just claims he’s curious. He’s not the only one though, that Athena girl keeps wandering in as well. Man, am I missing something? Maybe he makes the best s’mores in his sleep. As if on cue, the kid finally left the infirmary. Awake at last. Now I can get a good look at him! He’s tan, looks kinda like a surfer boy but with black hair. His hair was wavy, he had green eyes. Green like sea foam almost? He looks like a troublemaker honestly. That intrigued me. I think he’s 5’3, like me. Hard to tell at this distance.
He walked with Grover to the big house, Chiron and Mr. D wanted to talk to him, if I had to guess. He spent almost an hour there. Collin was stalking but “not” as he claims. Following close behind, which left me with nothing to do but wait for mystery boy and Collin’s return. New kid and Chiron step out of the house, he’s looking at us all, trying to figure out what this place is. I think he might be my age? Close to it at least. Chiron started walking the kid around, giving him a tour. He disappears from my sight and Collins enters it.
“Hey!”
“Jesus! Way to scare me!” I shove him, maybe a little too hard as he falls to the ground.
“Rude. Was coming over to say I lost him.” Collin frowned.
“Yeah, Chiron is giving him a tour. He’ll show him the cabins soon, wanna wait there, stalker?” I smirk at his blushing face and drag him along. As if I’m the oracle and he fulfilled the prophecy, he appeared at the cabins not long later. Unfortunately he seems to have caught Clarisse’s gaze, people have been saying Clarisse doesn’t believe he took the Minotaur down. Which is fair, he’s around twelve and doesn’t look that impressive, physically. Finally Chiron stopped in front of Athena chick and looked around.
“Kali! Collin!” Chiron called us over. Collin very excitedly dragged me that way. “You’re all around the same age, make friends.” His gaze was pointed at me as he said that.
“I have friends.” I mutter, looking away.
“I have master’ archery class. Will you three conclude the tour?” Chiron gestured to the cabin behind him. “Make yourself at home.” Right, Hermes cabin.
“C’mere new kid. I know this place by heart.” I stamped forward and threw the door open, ignoring the paper planes flying by my head. The place was filled with bunks and sleeping bags. “Sorry, since you’re new you’ll be getting a sleeping bag! Seniority rules for beds.” I walk further in, avoiding the mess like it was second nature. “Maybe you’ll get lucky and some other kids will be claimed and you can have a bed! Or even luckier, you get claimed! Don’t hold your breath though.” I scoff, standing in the middle of the room. Yep, he’s 5’3. Good eyes, Kali.
“Unclaimed then?” A camper groaned, flopping to the ground.
“Be nice!” I scowled, looking at the twerp.
“Luke?” Dagger girl called out. Luke strolled forward and led new kid to the end of the room.
“We accept everyone here!” Luke looks pointedly at everyone. “You can sleep here.” Luke points at a sleeping bag.
“This is Luke. He’s your counselor for now.” Dagger smiled up at Luke.
“For now?” That’s the first time new kid has spoken.
“You’re unclaimed. All unclaimed kids come here, we accept everyone. It only makes sense, this cabin is Hermes, the god of travelers." Luke patted him on the shoulder, shooting a sympathetic look.
“Yeah, get used to that look.” I chuckle, crossing my arms.
“How long will I be here?” He looked around, clearly not impressed.
“Until you’re claimed.” Luke shrugged.
“How long does that take?”
“Ha!” I bent over laughing, he looked at me like I grew a head. “Oh my god.” Everyone laughed with me.
“C’mon, I’ll show you the volleyball court.” Annabeth, yes I know her name I just don’t care to use it., spoke.
“Already saw it.” He frowned, looking at me.
“Come on.” She grabbed his wrist and started to walk out.
“Leaving without us?” Collin pouted, giving Annabeth puppy dog eyes. She froze, sighed and motioned for us to follow. Right, now would be a good time to tell you what she looks like. She was taller than us, around 5’4. She had curly blonde hair, like the princess type of curls. Really elegant yet effortless. She usually wears her hair up in a ponytail, probably finds it more efficient or some crap like that. She’s also tan. Total Cali girl. I should know, I am one. Although, as far as I’m aware, Annabeth stays at camp year round.
“You have to do better than that.” Annabeth was already scolding the new kid. Poor boy.
“What?” He looked shocked and confused.
“Can’t believe I thought you were it.” Blondie mutters.
“What do you mean by that?” I raise a brow at her and throw an arm around the newbie. “He seems perfectly fine! Although if you thought he’d be your boyfriend maybe wait until you get to know him next time?” I teased, hanging off the boy. His face went red and so did Blondie’s.
“Shut it! I swear you’re as bad as Clarisse!” She tried and failed to cover her face.
“Don’t compare me to that bitch! At least I have feelings other than rage!” I glare at her, tightening my grip on the boy.
“Look! All I know is that I killed some random bull-”
“Don’t speak like that! People at camp would kill to be in your spot.” Annabeth scolded him.
“I have to agree with Blondie.” I shrug.
“To get killed?” He looked at us like we were crazy. Collin giggled.
“No, no. To fight the Minotaur. Lots of campers train to do things like that but never get the chance.” Collin shrugged, staring at the boy. “I don’t really get the fuss. Why risk my life?”
“If that one is the same as the stories, isn’t there only one?” He pulled away from my grip, scratching his head.
“Yes.” Annabeth and I spoke simultaneously. We shot glares at each other.
“Didn’t Theseus kill him already?”
“It’s complicated. Monsters don’t stay dead.” Collin tried his best to be a friendly, welcoming face to the newbie but he was so stressed he didn’t appreciate it.
“Oh boy, that really clears it up!” He scoffed, shaking his head.
“They can be killed, but they don’t stay dead.” Collin gently explained, knowing this was a lot of information to absorb at once.
“They don’t have souls like we do. You can dispel them for a while, maybe even a lifetime if you’re really lucky. But they’re primal forces. Chiron calls them archetypes. Eventually they reform.” Annabeth went all logical and overexplaining to the poor new kid.
“Nerd.” I mumble. Annabeth shoots me a look. Whoops, looks like she heard.
“If I accidentally killed on-?” He looked at us, tilting his head to the side.
“The Fu- Your teacher isn’t dead.” Annabeth turned to look at him, stopping in her tracks.
“You just made her really mad.” Collin winced. “Teachers are the worst.”
“How’d you know about Mrs. Dodds?” How did they know? Wait. Stalkers.
“You talk in your sleep.” Annabeth and Collin spoke at the same time, looking at each other with confusion.
“You also?” He asked, seemingly surprised. How is this surprising? You could see her try and sneak in there?!
“You almost said… The Furies, they’re Hades torturers, yeah?” Wow, this kid is smarter than he looks.
“Yeah, they are.” I smile at him.
“You shouldn’t call them by their names.” Annabeth looked at the ground. “Call them the Kindly Ones. If you need to speak of them.”
“Which is stupid, they certainly aren’t kind.” I smirked at Annabeth’s annoyed face.
“Is there anything I can say without it thundering?” He whined, throwing his head back. “Why do I have to stay in cabin eleven anyways? Why is it so crowded? There’s plenty of bunks over there!” He pointed towards the first cabins.
“Look, it sucks ass. However, you'll probably be smited for sleeping in one of those.” I frowned. Unfortunately speaking from experience. I slept in the Hera cabin once and the next year I had the worst luck. It had to be her.
“You don’t get to choose a cabin, Percy.” Finally a name for him! “It depends on who your parents are… or your parent.” Annabeth stared at Percy, waiting for him to understand.
“My mom is Sally Jackson. She works at a candy store in Grand Central Station. At least, she used to.” He looked down, as if remembering something terrible.
“Cute. No. Blondie means your godly parent. So in your case, your father.” I look him up and down. “Well, it could still be Aphrodite. She’s been known to have sapphic relationships.” I smirk, watching the life leave Collin.
“No! I mean… No way.” Collin is so easy to read, crushing so hard on the new boy.
“Or Athena! She doesn’t give birth the same way as others. They just appear from her mind. Totally possible.” I watched as Annabeth cringed at the idea.
“No. He would have gray eyes. Are you done?” She raised a brow at me. Before I had the chance to speak, Percy cut in.
“No, it’d have to be a man. My mum never talked about him much but did tell me he’s dead.” Percy narrowed his eyes, trying to remember anything else.
“He’s not dead.” Collin sighed, placing a hand on Percy’s shoulder.
“How do you know? You know him?” Percy snapped at him. We didn’t take it personally. It was hard to process everything.
“No.”
“Then how do you-”
“Cause you’re here.” Collin moved to stand in front of him, looking him directly in the eyes. “We don’t make mistakes like this, plus if you weren’t like us you never could have made it pass the barrier.” Collin was patient, more so than me. He wanted to help Percy understand what this is. I just wanted to ignore his questions and tell him to listen.
“You don’t know anything about me.” Percy pulled away, looking at me.
“You move around a lot as a kid?” I raised a brow, watching his expression. Bingo.
“You were probably kicked out of a lot of them.” Collin added, nervously playing with his hands.
“How’d-”
“You’ve been diagnosed with Dyslexia and probably ADHD as well.” Annabeth spoke up. These were all signs of a Demigod. I’ll let Annabeth explain, I can see that eagerness to nerd out on her.
“What does that have to do with anything?” Percy blushed, probably embarrassed.
“Taken together, it’s almost a sure sign. The letters float off the page when you read. That’s because your brain is hardwired for ancient Greek. And the ADHD! You’re impulsive, can’t sit still. That’s your battle reflexes. In a real fight, they’d keep you alive. As for the attention problems, that’s because you see too much, not too little. Percy, your senses are better than a regular mortal’s. Of course the teachers want you medicated. They don’t want you seeing them for what they really are.” Annabeth finished her rant with a sigh.
“You… You sound like you went through the same.” He stares at her, wide eyed. Shocked that Blondie clocked him so fast.
“We all did! Welcome to the club!” I laugh softly, watching him process that there are others like him.
“Most kids.” Annabeth corrected me. “You wouldn’t have been able to survive the Minotaur or the Ambrosia and Nectar if you weren’t one of us.”
“Ambrosia and Nectar?” He cocked a brow.
“The food and drink we gave you.” Collin steps in, not letting Annabeth nerd out more. “Makes half-bloods feel better, kills mortals.”
“That’s the simple explanation.” Annabeth muttered. Percy had a million questions but not enough time to ask them as Clarisse sauntered over.
“Well! A newbie!” Clarisse was bigger than us, older too. She wasn’t too much taller though. Only 5’7. Which is roughly average, though she was anything but that. She had muscles the size of our heads. Looked like a rugby player. She had a small scar on her face, plus a lot more on her arms. She had skin like mocha, and really curly hair. She usually has braids in but right now it is down. Her necklace had the same amount of beads as Collin. Her voice was harsh, raspy.
“Clarisse.” Annabeth sighed. “Go polish your spear, or something.” She mumbled, looking away. Clarisse is the queen of mean. Biggest bully at camp. Her father is Ares, so I suppose it makes sense.
“Sure, Miss Princess. So I can run it through you on Friday!” She laughed and her little minions behind her cackled.
“You don’t stand a chance.” Annabeth crossed her arms, glaring daggers into the older girl.
“We’ll destroy you.” Clarisse turned to look at Percy. “Who’s the runt?”
“Nunya.” I smirked. Clarisse didn’t fall for it but a minion did.
“Nunya?”
“Nunya fucking business.” I took a step in front of Percy. Collin took a big step back. He always hated that I would challenge Clarisse. I was one of the only campers, that’s not an Ares kid, that would. Clarisse took a step forward, towering over me as she glared down.
“Watch it punk. I’ll cave your skull in.” Clarisse grabbed the front of my shirt, pulling my towards her.
“Ha! I’d like to see you try! What was the score between us? Oh, right! Five to four. Last I checked I’m winning.” I laughed in her face, watching her turn red.
“Not for long. Watch your back.” Clarisse threw me back, causing me to bump into Percy. Percy grabbed me, holding on tight.
“Percy Jackson, meet Clarisse. Daughter of Ares.” Annabeth introduced the two and I could already tell Percy was glaring at her.
“Like the war god?” He asked, moving me to the side.
“Got a problem with that?”
“No. Explains the bad smell.” He smirked looking up at her.
“Oh, I like you already, Perce.” I chuckled, standing beside him.
“We got an initiation for newbies, Prissy.” Clarisse growled
“Percy.”
“Whatever. Come on, I’ll show you.” Clarisse reached forward and grabbed Percy’s arm.
“Clarisse!” Annabeth tried to stop her but the older girl gave her a look.
“Stay outta it, wise girl!”
“Let him go. Before I burn your eyebrows off again.” I smirked, pushing her off him. Percy handed Annabeth something, I didn’t even realise he was holding it. Before I could do anything Clarisse grabbed me and Percy by the back of our necks. “Ow! You bitch!” I thrashed in her grasp. If she was gonna take me down, I’ll go down fighting. Percy kicked and thrashed as well. It just wasn’t enough. Clarisse threw me into the arms of two other Ares kids so she could focus on Percy. They dragged us into the bathrooms. Fuck.
“Like he’s big three material!” Clarisse and her lackeys laughed as she pushed him towards the toilets. “The Minotaur problem fell over laughing at him!”
“Is that what this is?! Jealous a twelve year old took down one of the most infamous and dangerous monsters and you can’t? Grow up!” I sneered, throwing my head back into one of the lackeys. They let go immediately, holding their now broken nose and glaring at me. Another lackey replaced them within seconds. “I’ll break everyone’s nose here!” I thrashed harder, trying my best to get out. Annabeth and Collin followed us, they watched. They knew better than to piss her off. They’d be right here with us. It still hurts to see no one stand up for me, and Percy.
Clarisse pushed Percy’s head towards the toilet bowl. Laughing the whole time. A low rumble sounded out through the room. The laughter stopped, everyone looked around. Suddenly the water from the toilet flew out, past Percy and into Clarisse’s face. More pipes burst, more Ares kids being hit with toilet water. All of the water avoided Percy and I. Holy shit, is he actually a kid of the… the Ares kids gagged and dragged Clarisse out, running away from this mess. Leaving us in a wet room, completely dry.
“Woah…” Collin walked over, helped Percy up, stars in his eyes.
“How’d you…” Annabeth stopped next to me, staring at the dry circles around us.
“I don’t know.” Percy looked shocked, looking down at him. From outside of the voice of clarisse called out,
“You’re dead! Absolutely dead, new kid!” We all strolled outside, watching the Ares kids catch their breaths and desperately try and wipe the toilet water off themselves.
“Wanna gargle toilet water again? Close your mouth.” Percy glared down at them, clenching his fists. Clarisse lunged before stopping mid air. The other Ares kids caught and dragged her away, she screamed profanities at us the entire time.
“I’m in love.” I laugh, wrapping Percy in a hug and lifting him up. “Percy Jackson! You are the best person alive!” I spun him around, giddy.
“Woah!” He tapped me, wanting down. I slowly lowered him and smiled wildly.
“What?” He looked at us all, stopping on Collin.
“No one besides Kali has been able to stop Clarisse like that.” Collin reached forward and brushed some of Percy’s hair out of his face. “Good job, new kid.”
“I think…” Annabeth smirked, looking him up and down. “I want you on my team for capture the flag.”
“Really?! Yes! Wait, he would have been anyway-”
“Shush.” Annabeth looked at me.
“Yes, boss.” I giggled, slinging an arm around Percy. “You’re gonna love capture the flag.”
“Wait, I don’t get any of you on my team.” Collin whined, stomping his foot.
“Have fun with the bitch!” I cackle, reaching forward to mess up his hair.
“Let’s go. He still needs a tour.” Annabeth tried to hide her smile and laugh but failed.
“Is THE wise girl laughing at something I said?” I teased, dragging Percy with us to see the rest of camp.
“Don’t get a big head.” She scoffed, leading the way to our next location.
“What’s the deal with capture the flag? Isn’t it just a game?” Percy muttered, looking confused.
“Trust me, Jackson. It’s anything but a game here.” Collin giggled, shaking his head.
I'm currently working on a PJO story. It's gonna be an Annabeth X Fem Oc. Now I thought to myself "Well percy cant be alone, hmmmm"
So the reasonable option was to make another OC and have it also be a Percy X Male OC. yesyes, much logic.
It's gonna be Athena Kid X Ares Kid and Poseidon Kid X Aphrodite Kid. Much excited to start writing it.
Speaking of which I will be taking PJO writing requests if anyone is interested.
This is your friendly neighborhood writer peacing out for now tho xoxo
Eiko has made it in. Now she's tasked with proving she can be here. Will she be able to?
Chapter 3 - The First Day
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
April. The start of the school year. The start of my journey at UA. I stand at the gates, staring at the massive building. I feel like I’m dreaming, like one wrong move I’ll wake up and my acceptance into UA never happened. However as I feel a familiar hand on my shoulder I’m snapped from it, and I know this is real.
“Ready?” Fumi asked, now wearing the UA uniform.
“As much as I can be.” I mutter as we walk into the building. “We’re in different classes.” I point out as we find our lockers to switch out our shoes.
“Yeah, but there’s always lunch.” Fumi suggested as she looked around. “Besides, in a school full of future heroes there shouldn’t be any bullies, right?”
“Guess not. Still don’t like it.” I complain as we headed down the long hallways.
“I’ll miss you too.” Fumi teased as she started the climb up the stairs.
“Haha, very funny.” I sarcastically reply as I follow her. We remain in silence as we make our way to the classrooms. I’m in 1-A, she’s in 1-B. These next few years are going to be tough without her to complain to in class.
“See you at lunch.” Fumi waves me off as she hurries into her class. She had this habit of being early, there’s still five minutes to class. If I had it my way I’d be walking in as the bell was ringing, but I’m already here so I might as well try head in.
As I approach the door I notice just how big it is, as well as how high the ceilings are. I guess it’s to accommodate anyone with a quirk that makes them big? Whatever. As I enter the classroom I’m met with a decent amount of people, most notably is that guy with the stick up his ass. He looks like a robot with how stiff he is.
“Oh, hey!” A familiar voice calls out from further into the room and as I turn to look in that direction I’m met with none other than Jirou.
“Uh, hey.” I wave awkwardly at her as I make my way into the class, she meets me halfway and scratches the back of her neck.
“Guess we both got in.”
“Yeah.” I look around at some of the other people here, No one else I know, of course.
“Sorry I didn’t wait with you after the exam, Midnight ushered me away.” Jirou explains as she twirls an ear jack.
“Huh? Oh, yeah. It’s fine, don’t worry.” I don’t know why she was apologising, it's not like I was expecting her to stay. We’re strangers.
“I’m glad I know one person in here, it would have been hell getting through the school year without company.” Jirou states, folding her arms.
“Uh, yeah. Likewise.” Is now a bad time to mention I don’t know how to talk to people? Before I could fumble my way through more conversation a voice from behind me calls out.
“Take your feet of that desk now!” The walking rule book cried out at some blonde kid.
“Huh?” The blonde boy taunted as he, without a doubt, had his feet on the desk.
“It’s the first day and you’re already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin!”
“You’re kidding me, right? Your old school shove a stick up your ass? Or were you born with it?” The blonde questioned, causing me to let out a chuckle. Unfortunately Mr. Roboto has super hearing so he whipped his head to look at me in shock.
“Uh- Let’s start over.” He turns to face the blonde again. “I’m Tenya Iida from the Somei Private Academy.” He introduced himself, trying to be friendly.
“Somei, huh? So you must think you’re better than me. I’m gonna have fun tearin’ you a new one.” The blonde had the kind of voice were he sounded like he was borderline yelling all the time. Also I guess heroes can be bullies, cause that sounds exactly like some McBitchface would have said.
“You would threaten me?” The robot gasped. “Your own classmate? Are you sure you’re in the right place?”
“If he wants to be a hero let him, teachers won’t let him act like an ass for long.” I spit, really disliking both of the boys. I turn around to go find a seat at the back.
“Ha!” The blonde scoffs. As I sit I see Iida and him look at the doorway, staring someone down. Oh, the unkempt hair kid.
“It’s him.” Iida mumbles as everyone turns to look at one of the last to arrive.
“Uh, hi!” The green haired boy calls out.
“Good morning.” Iida formally greets, just like a robot. “My name is Tenya Iida fro-” He’s marching towards the nervous kid.
“Y-yeah I know!” The kid stutters as he waves his hands about. “I’m Izuku Midoriya. It’s super nice to meet you.” He introduces himself.
“Midoriya. You realised that there was something more to the practical exam, didn’t you?” Iida questions, staring the boy down. “You must be very perceptive. And I completely misjudged you, I admit. As a student, you are far superior to me.” He starts to shake as he speaks, like it physically hurts him to say. A voice calls out from behind Midoriya.
“Hey! I recoginse that messed up hair! Falling boy!” Midoriya turns around to see a girl with pink cheeks smiling at him brightly. She starts to rant about what happened in their exam but I can’t hear what exactly was said, something about a good punch. Man I hope class starts soon, I’m done with talking already.
“It took eight seconds for you all to shut up. That’s not going to work. Time is precious. Rational students would understand that.” I hear an older voice call out from the hallway. He walks a little further in to be in the doorway. Man he looks homeless! Don’t tell- “Hello I’m Shota Aizawa. Your teacher.” Oh no. Everyone gasps as we stare at him in shock. He reaches into his… sleeping bag? And pulls out a gym uniform. “Right, let’s get to it. Put these on and head outside.” Everyone looked around confused. We’re meant to have an assembly or something, right? This guy’s weird. Everyone slowly stands and heads to grab a uniform and change in the locker rooms.
As we all stand outside on a field Aizawa speaks up again.
“You’ll be doing a quirk assessment test.”
“What? A quirk assessment test?” Everyone asked in unison. Seems like none of us understand a damn thing right now.
“But orientation! We’re gonna miss it!” Pink Checks calls out.
“If you really want to make the big leagues, you can’t waste time on pointless ceremonies.” He explains, back to us. Everyone lets out various sounds of shock, none of us were ready for this. “Here at UA we’re not tethered to traditions. That means I get to run my class how I see fit.” He turns to face us, his eyes were bloodshot. Man, maybe I should sleep more if that’s how bad my eyebags can get. “You’ve been taking standardised tests most of your lives. But you’ve never been able to use your quirks in physical exams before.” He holds up a device, a list of physical tests we have all done before was on it. “The country is still trying to pretend we are all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It’s not rational. One day the Ministry of Education will understand.” He turns to face the blonde bully, wait am I going to have to learn everyone’s names? Shit.
“Bakugo.” He turns to face me. “Eiko. You both scored the most points on the entrance exam. What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in junior high?” I glanced over at the newly named Bakugo. I'm hoping he’ll start talking, I’m not big on speaking in front of groups.
“Sixty-seven metres, I think.” He glanced over at me, glaring. I don’t think he likes knowing I did just as well as him.
“Uh, sixty metres? Around that ballpark anyway.” I half mumbled out, clearing my throat at the end.
“Right, one of you try doing it with your quirk.” Aizawa directed, looking between us. Bakugo glares at me as he hurries over to be the one to do it. Guess he likes to show off. He stood in the center as Aizawa tossed a ball towards him, “Anything goes, just stay in the circle.” Bakugo is still blankly staring at Aizawa. “Go on, you’re wasting our time.” Bakugo started to stretch as he watched Aizawa.
“All right, man. You asked for it.” Bakugo continued his stretches as he stared at the field ahead of him. He pulls his arms up above his head and swings it forward as fast as he can. He had a big grin on his face as he launched it through the air with an explosion as he does he yells out, “Die!” The ball soars through the air as it eventually disappears from sight. Impressive, no wonder he got the top points.
“All you of need to know your maximum capabilities.” The ball lands with a soft thud and a beep from the device signals it’s finished reading the distance. “It’s the most rational way of determining your potential as a pro hero.” He holds up the device. 705.2 almost twelve times stronger than without his quirk. Everyone around me gasped as they saw the results.
“Woah! 705 metres, are you kidding me?” A boy with blonde hair and a lighting streak through it speaks up.
“I wanna go! Looks fun!” A pink girl exclaims. I wonder why she’s pink, is it a side effect of her quirk?
“This is what I’m talking about, usin’ our quirks as much as we want!” A guy with weird elbows said. Okay seriously? His quirk is somehow so good to get into the most prestigious school in the country? What does his elbows do? Deliver sweet elbow drops? That’s not me saying he can’t be a hero, he can. I’m just confused as to how he made it into the top school.
“So this looks fun, huh?” Aizawa spoke up. “You have three years here to become a hero. You think it’s all gonna be games and play time? Idiots.” For the first time he cracks a smile, a very unsettling one at that. “Today you will compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none, therefore will be expelled.” Everyone looks around in shock and horror. Expelled? On the first day. I don’t care who it is, as long as it’s not me. “Like I said, I get to decide how to run this class. Understand?” Everyone nods slowly as we prepare for the worst eight tests in our lives. This has nothing on the entrance exams, that was just to get in. This? Being expelled after already making it? That’s the worst case scenario. “If that’s a problem then you can head home now.”
“You can’t send one of us home! It’s the first day! Even if it wasn’t the first day it’s not fair!” Pink Cheeks exclaimed, apparently not cool with this.
“Did you not hear him? Said he can run this class how he wants, pretty sure he can.” I mutter as I decide to start stretching and warming up.
“Oh? And you think natural disasters are? Or power hungry villains? Or catastrophic accidents that whip out cities? No. The world is full of unfairness. It’s a hero’s job to try and combat the unfairness. If you want to be a pro you have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years UA will throw one hardship after another at you. So, go beyond. Plus ultra style. Show me it’s not a mistake that you’re here.” Aizawa explained, and it seems like any students that had their doubts were now swayed. I don’t need first. Just anything but last. Hell, I'll steer clear of the bottom five in case he changes his mind. “We’re wasting time talking. Let the games begin.”
Everyone took time to warm up and stretch as Aizawa set up the bot for the 50m dash. There’s twenty two students in a class, so there will be two people at a time. I’m going last with some other girl. I watch as Iida flies through, he seems to have some kind of engine on his legs. Pink girl and some dude speaking with a french accent are against each other, and even though he talked a big game he fell short and landed on his ass near the finish line. Bakugo and Midoriya go and blondie uses his quirk to fly. Pretty useful. From the look of it Midoriya didn’t use his quirk? Maybe it’s a mental quirk? Or doesn’t help with speed? Whatever, I’m up now. The bot starts the countdown and as soon as It says go, I touch my hands onto the ground and suck the life out of it. It may have just been dirt but it still works. The nutrients and pure essence of life is drained as I dart towards the finish, leaving behind a dull dead grey mass at the starting line.
“4.29 seconds!” The bot calls out as I cross the line, I skid to a halt to turn and see the girl I’m against using plant life to launch herself over.
AYAME SUZUKI! QUIRK:PLANT CONTROL! SHE CAN SPEAK WITH AND CONTROL PLANT LIFE! TOTALLY GROOVY DUDE!
As she lands she doesn’t seem to be paying attention to the score as she marches over to me.
“You killed it!”
“Uh, thanks?” I didn’t understand why she was talking to me, maybe she’s the friendly type?
“No, not like that! I mean you killed the ground!” Oh, she was angry.
“Uh, yep.” I glance behind her to see the mess I left behind.
“How could you! Our planet is already dying, and you’re making it go faster.” She questioned me and for the first time I actually looked at her. She had darker skin, like mocha, as well as dark green eyes, a mole under the right side of her lip and her left ear had several piercings. Were they even allowed? Whatever.
“It’s my quirk.” I mutter out, I’d rather not get into this to be completely honest.
“So you’re perfectly okay with killing off the planet to be a hero?” She stared at me, wondering how I could do this. At this point we’ve gathered the attention of everyone, they’re all watching. Staring. They’re staring at me. They’re gonna find out what my quirk is and they’re going to try and kick me out. They’re gonna yell at me, say I can’t be a hero with this quirk. I don’t want to get hurt, not again. I raise my hand to the scar over my eye as I turn my head downwards, my breath quickening. No, not right now. I need to prove I can be a hero, Prove that I’m a good person!
“That’s enough gawking. Next test.” Aizawa’s voice cuts through the air as everyone turns to look at him. Everyone except me. When I got accepted I had to tell UA about my quirk, by law I had to tell them what I did. My scar feels like it’s burning, it’s hot and itchy and it won’t stop. I scratch the scar to try and get rid of the searing burning pain, to try and get rid of the scar. It doesn’t work. It never does. I hear everyone start to leave, they’re whispering. They’re whispering about me. I know it. I glance up to see the plant girl looking at me, I expect there to be hatred. It’s worry? She’s looking at me with, worry? Why? Is she pitying me? I don’t need her pity. I just need to prove I’m worthy.
We both slowly make our way inside for the next few tests, next up the grip strength. Aizawa passes out the machines as we all get ready in various ways. There’s no life to get from inside, so I dip out towards the door, looking for a good source. There’s a tree, that’ll do better than the dirt ground. I look around to make sure plant girl isn’t watching and I slowly drain the life from it, as I do the tree starts to dry out, crack and crumble. The leaves falling off and the branches sagging. By the time I’m done the tree stands there, lifeless. I slowly walk back inside, that should hold me for the next few tests. The elbow kid is yelling about how multi-arms hit a high number as I take a deep breath and squeeze as hard as I can.
BEEP!
The machine goes off as I look down at it, 301 kilograms, definitely could have done better but I don’t want to drain the life from all the vegetation nearby. We head back outside for the long jump, some kids use their quirks to practically fly over it, meanwhile Midoriya is still doing bad. How did he make it in? Nepotism? I take a deep breath in as I run and jump in the pit, I land near the end of it. Not the worst, not the best either. Next up are the side steps, some kid that looks like a toddler uses some kind of balls to bounce back and forth. I use the last of the life steal energy to get a decent number of steps. I think I've solidified not the bottom five. The softball throw is up next, Pink Cheeks uses her quirk and the ball literally goes to space. Cool. I’m up next and before I get into the circle I walk over to some bushes and flowers but before I could drain it a voice calls out.
“Hey.” It’s the plant girl. I look over at her.
“What?”
“Sorry, bout before. Look, I think it was meant to be that we’re in the same class!” She walks over to me. “Do your thing.” I glare at her as I slowly drain it, plant girl lets out a wince as I do so. The flowers wilt and die, the bush shrinks up and dries out. I stand as there’s nothing left but a dead bush. As I finish up, the plant girl puts her hands out and the bush immediately comes back to life, a glow as the life comes back, it regains moisture, plumps up and the flowers regrow bigger and better than before.
“Cool quirk.” I mutter out.
“Thanks. See we’re opposites! You take plant life and use it as power right? I grow plant life and use it as power! So, from now on whenever you need to use your quirk I’ll use mine and make them grow back.” She explained as she stands to face me. Is she, not angry anymore?
“Okay, sounds good.” I mumble as I turn back around to head for the circle.
“Hey wait, I’m Ayame Suzuki. My friends call me Aya.” She smiles at me as she walks ahead of me.
“Eiko.” I say, brushing past her to throw the ball. I take a deep breath as I swing my arm back before throwing it as hard as I could. The ball flies from my hand, soaring through the air, for a second it disappears from view before landing with a thud.
“700 metres exactly.” Aizawa notes as he motions for me to move. I take a few steps back as I leave the circle so the next person can go.
“Nice throw! I dunno if we’re gonna make it for lunch but if we do, wanna sit together?” Suzuki asks, a relaxed look on her face.
“Weren’t you yelling at me like twenty minutes ago?” I looked her in the eyes, trying to see if she was up to something.
“Sorry. Shouldn’t judge your quirk, not like you choose it.” She shrugs, seemingly over the whole thing.
“I’m sitting with my friend at lunch.” I mumble as I turn to watch the next person.
“Hey I love making friends! More the merrier I say.” Suzuki seemingly decided on her own to join me anyway. Midoriya stands there, nervously staring at the ball.
“If Midoriya doesn’t shape up soon then he’ll be going home.” Iida informs as we stand and watch.
“No shit, he’s in trouble.” I mumble out.
“Huh? Of course he will. He’s a quirkless loser!” Bakugo shouts. They let quirkless people be heroes? That’s cool I guess.
“He has a quirk.” Iida confusedly says. Wait, so does he or not? “Did you not hear about what he did in the entrance exam?” No, obviously not.
“Huh?” Bakugo seems to be just as, if not more confused than me. Midoriya lets out a yell as he throws the ball. It goes about forty metres. Midoriya mutters something as he stares in shock.
“I erased your quirk.” Aizawa moves ahead a little as his scarf seems to magically start floating. “The judges for this exam were not rational enough. Someone like you should never be allowed to enrol into this school.” Aizawa explains. Someone like him? What does that mean? Whatever it is, I don't like it. I’ve had too many people say I can’t and shouldn’t be a hero.
“Wait, you did what to my-” Midoriya starts before cutting himself off, realising something. “Ah! Those goggles, I know you! You can look at someone and cancel their quirk. The erasure hero: Eraser Head.”
“You’re not ready. You don’t have control over your power.” Aizawa glares at him.
“Isn’t it kind of your job to help him? I mean, y’know, teach him better ways and stuff.” I instinctually ask, everyone looks at me in shock, not expecting someone to back talk Aizawa.
“No. My job is to help you become heroes. Not baby you.” Aizawa doesn’t turn to look at me once.
“Wouldn’t teaching him how to use his quirk properly be making him a better hero?” I raise a brow at the teacher.
“He has no control whatsoever. It would be different if he simply wasn’t using it efficiently.” Aizawa explains. I guess I can’t change his mind. “Now, were you planning to break your bones again?” Break his what now? “Counting on someone else to save your body?”
“No! That’s not what I was trying to do!” MIdoriya cried out. Aizawa’s scarf wraps around the boy and pulls him in close to the teacher.
“No matter what your intentions are, you would be nothing more than a liability in battle.” Aizawa explains. I mean, if he breaks his bones when he uses his quirk then Aizawa might have a point, but this whole situation is far to familiar. Rubs me the wrong way. “You have the same reckless passion as another overzealous hero I know. One who saved a thousand people by himself and became a legend. But even with that drive you’re useless if all you can do is throw a single punch before breaking down. Sorry, Midoriya. With your power there’s no way you can become a hero.”
“Yes he can. He just needs to learn. Obviously he doesn’t know how to use his quirk. I don’t know why. But he doesn’t. If you just hel-” I’m cut off before I can finish my sentence.
“I’m not talking to you Eiko.” Aizawa forcefully says, shutting me down. Aizawa drops Midoriya from his scarf and stares down at him. “I’ve returned your impractical quirk. Take your final throw, hurry up and get it over with.” Aizawa backs up as Midoriya slowly walks back to the circle. He determinedly swings his arm back and throws the ball forward. The ball blasts up as everyone stares in shock. He used his quirk, but he controlled the breakage to just his finger. Smart. Not great or anything. But better than nothing.
“Mr. Aizawa. You see? I’m still standing.” Midoriya shakily grins, his finger properly hurts like all hell. Yet he’s able to smile. Just like All Might.
“Nice! He’s finally showing us his true power!” Pink Cheeks exclaims, hyped about seeing it.
“But his finger seems to be broken now.” Iida pointed out. “Just like in the exam. This quirk is very odd.” It is an odd quirk.
“It wasn’t a very pretty throw.” The guy with the french accent says. Bakugo stares in absolute shock and seems on the verge of a heart attack. His face morphed into one of anger and rage as his hands let off explosions, he sprints at Midoriya.
“Hey! Deku, you bastard! Tell me how you did that or you're dead!” He ran at him, hand out ready to attack. His quirk may be good but he’s a total jerk. He reminds me of pro hero Endeavour. Midoriya lets out a scream as AIzawa’s scarf shoots out and wraps around Bakugou. Holding him in place as he still tries to reach out to ’Deku’. “What? Why the hell is your scarf so strong?” Bakugo asks, straining against the fabric.
“It’s a capture weapon.” Aizawa explained the way his scarf works. Makes sense he’d have some support item to help him, his quirk is good but he’d still need help with defeating naturally strong villains. “Stand down. It’d be wise to avoid making me use my quirk so much. Gives me dry eye.” Aizawa drops the scarf when Bakugo finally gives up. “Your wasting my time now. Who’s up next?” He asked, turning to the rest of the students as Midoriya shuffles past Bakugo’s seething form.
After that we finished up the throw to move on to the rest of the tests. Sit ups was next up, not much I can do for this other than increase my stamina.
“Hey. Need help?” Jirou’s voice calls out as she comes over to help hold my feet down.
“Uh, thanks.” I mumble out as I get ready to start.
“Your quirk’s pretty useful, huh?” She let out a chuckle as she asked me.
“I guess. Can also be dangerous though.” I mutter the second half out. I have to be careful with my quirk.
“Really? How so?” Jirou looked at me confused as I start my sit ups.
“What do you think my quirk is?” I question. They’ve all seen me drain plants, so I’m wondering if they think it’s just that.
“Oh, well. I don’t really know but you get power from the Earth?” Jirou asked, not sure of herself. I shake my head.
“No. Well, yes. My quirks been named Life Steal.” I whisper, making sure no one else could hear me. Jirou’s eyes widen a bit at the name before nodding.
“So, you take the life from things to make yourself stronger?” Jirou asks, watching me.
“Yep. Don’t tell anyone.” I continue my sit ups, deciding I’ve said more than enough.
“I won’t.” Jirou smiled at me and stayed quiet for the rest of the test. I’m not sure why I told her, I just felt like I could.
The rest of the tests went by all without incident and all going well for me. We all stood around, waiting for our results and cooling down. At this point we’ve all missed orientation for sure.
“Here are the results. I’ve ranked you from best to worst.” Aizawa calls out to the class. “I’ll pull up the whole list.” Aizawa clicks a device and a projection shows up, ranking all of the class. I search for my name, fourth place. Not too bad, could have been better but I’m not one to show off. Looking at the bottom I notice Midoriya is in last, despite his efforts. “And I was lying. No one’s going home.” We all stared at him in shock. All that for nothing. “That was just to make sure you gave it your all in the tests.” Aizawa creepily grins.
“Wow, great. So glad we got the creepy guy as our teacher.” I mumble, letting out a sigh.
“I’m surprised the rest of you didn’t figure that out. I’m sorry. I guess I should have said something sooner.” A tall girl mentions, I think she got in by recommendation. Meaning she’s rich and privileged, and also apparently smart.
“Alright. That’s it for the day.” Aizawa speaks back up. “Pick up a syllabus in the classroom, read it over before tomorrow.” Aizawa walks away, leaving us here to digest the information. We all slowly but surely head back to the locker rooms to get back into our uniforms.
“Heyo Eiko!” Suzuki calls out, half dressed. “You’re pretty great with your quirk! How’d you get so good with it?”
“I don’t know. Practice?” I questioned. Shouldn’t that be obvious?
“I mean seriously, you know how much to take without going overboard!” She exclaimed, smiling at me as she changed.
“Practice.” I state once again. I avoid looking at everyone else as I quickly change, not wanting to stick around long.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m finding you at lunch. Can’t escape me that easily.” Suzuki reminds me as I head towards the door, rolling my eyes.
“Whatever.”
We all make it back to class in time to move on with the rest of the school day. Classes go by such as English and Maths before it finally gets to lunch. I bolt out the door in hopes of losing Suzuki in the crowd and make my way to the line for lunch.
“You weren’t at orientation.” Fumi sneaks up on me.
“No, long story. Teacher is kinda crazy.” I laugh looking at Fumi, my face drops as I see the guy from my entrance exam.
“He wants to sit with us. Is that alright?” Fumi asks, tilting her head.
“Uh, I guess.” I clear my throat, going back to face the line.
“Oh, you’re the girl from the exam! I don’t know if you remember me, I’m Ryo Yoshida, but you can call me Ryo. Yoshida is a pretty common last name so I prefer when people call me by my first name.” Yoshida explained, smiling at me.
“Guess you didn’t need your quirk to help you get in?” I ask, remembering his words from the exam. He looks at me shocked before also remembering.
“Oh! Haha, no I barely scraped by. I only got in cause I helped a bunch of people.” Yoshida awkwardly laughs.
“Eiko! Told you I’d find you!” Suzuki comes running up to us, stopping to look at Fumi and Yoshida. “These your friends?” She asked. “Names Ayame Suzuki! My friends call me Aya.” She shoves her hand out in front of her for a handshake which Yoshida accepts.
“Ryo Yoshida. Call me Ryo.” He introduces. “Kimura-”
“Ryo, I said you can call me Fumi.” She interjects.
“Right. Fumi and I are in the same class and I asked if we could have lunch together.” He explained before looking at me. “Eiko and I were in the same group for the practical exam but I wouldn’t say we’re friends yet.”
“Cool. I’m in Eiko’s class. We’re soulmates.” Suzuki teases as she nudges my shoulder.
“Don’t say that.” I roll my eyes, and let out a groan.
“She takes life I give it. Enemies to lovers. That’s what we are. I can feel it!” She dramatically tosses herself onto me causing me to grunt and push her off.
“No way.” I glare at her.
“See! Enemies. Eventual lovers-”
“No!” I cry out, groaning again. Fumi and Ryo start laughing and I can already tell this is going to be a long school year.

Blood on my lips, iron in my mouth. Fuck. Biting them has always been a bad habit but now it’s only gotten worse. I quickly lick away the residue and rub my eyes. It was late, or I guess it’s early? The sun was starting to rise as I sent through one last email. I could maybe get a bit of sleep? Fuck it, too much to do. Looking out my window I see a Huntrix screen turn into Saja Boys.
A part of me feels bad but at the same time Huntrix has plenty of time in the spotlight, it’s our time now. I yawn, slugging my way to the kitchen I start the kettle. I’m not one for coffee so it’ll have to be caffeinated tea. I go to wash my hands but then I see it. Mira’s number. Do I bother? They probably want me to hook them up with the Saja Boys. I let out a deep sigh and stared at it. It was taunting me. Showing me something I could never have…
My phone buzzed and I reached forward, snapping out of it. Another email, how exciting. I roll my eyes and turn around, leaning against the counter as I read it.
Hope you’re not ignoring us xoxo.
What? I blinked, once then twice. Looking at the sender my eyes go wild. Huntrix. Speak of the devil and they shall appear. How’d they get my email? The kettle whistled, steam pouring into the kitchen. I snatched it and placed it down on the counter. Fuck it.
Hello?
Creepy email lol
Had to get your attention somehow.
Also that was Zoey.
Okay, so it was them and they didn’t give me a fake number.
Ur up early
So are you.
Guilty

My hands moved before I could even process it. Great, a date with Mira, what could go wrong?
She’s late. She invited me and she’s late! Who does that? I groan and get up. This was stupid, of course famous idols don’t want to hang out with you.
“Sorry, I’m here!” I snapped my head around.
“Rumi? Thought Mira was meeting me?” I ask, raising a brow at her. She had her casual clothes on, hood up.
“She was! She just got caught up with something else, so here I am! I hope that’s okay.” Rumi smiled softly at me, rubbing her arm.
“Uh, yeah. That’s fine.” I sit back down and offer her the seat across from me. “Not everyday I get to speak to someone as famous as you, what brings you to me?” I smile, looking into her eyes. Her chocolatey brown eyes, dark and mysterious.
“You’re the manager for the Saja Boys, you’re with famous people all the time.” Rumi chuckled a little.
“Not as famous as you.” I emphasise that part and look at the menu.
“Oh, well, get used to it. Those guys are climbing quickly.” Rumi muttered the last part, almost annoyed.
“Riiiight…” I awkwardly chuckled and buried my face in the menu. “So, gonna get anything?” I waved the menu around a bit. Rumi turned red and picked it up.
“Right! Yes!” Rumi hid her face.
“My treat, see it as payback for Jinu stealing one of your juice things.” I smile softly at her, looking around for the line. I’m not that familiar with Korea in general, so to add in a new area I’ve never been? Big yikes.
“You really don’t have to.” Rumi slowly peered over her menu.
“No seriously, it’s eating me alive.” I chuckle, placing my menu down.
“Okay. Green Tea, extra strong.” Rumi placed her menu down and smiled.
“Any food?” I questioned. Tea makes sense, needs to soothe her throat in between press and tours.
“Oh! No thanks.” Rumi slumped back in her chair, pulling her hood closer to her.
“Oh, okay.” I nervously smile and walk to the line. I was going to get this really delicious looking cake but now I’ll just seem big. I can always eat later, right? “One green tea, extra strong. As well as a hot chocolate please.” I slowly ordered. My Korean was not bad by any means but when it comes to ordering or big social events it always seems to slip my mind.
Minutes went by as I waited there, standing. I could have gone back to my seat with Rumi but it was so awkward! It would have been awkward with Mira as well but since I wasn’t even expecting Rumi it feels worse. I slowly pulled out my phone and yawned, looking over the schedules. All the boys got a copy of it, let’s hope they read it. The lady calls my name and I thank her, taking our drinks to the table.
“One tea.” I placed it in front of her and sat.
“Thank you.” Rumi quietly started sipping her tea, face still red. “So, any big plans?”
“Hm? Oh, the boys? Just press things. I’m sure you know how it is.” I smiled softly at her and stirred my drink. “It’s a bit hectic but they’ll get used to it. If their small brains let it.” I mutter the last part, sipping my drink.
“You don't seem to like them that much.” Rumi giggled a bit.
“Ugh, no, I do! I just, they’re boys. All boys suck, including them.” I laugh a bit and roll my eyes.
“Even the choreographer?”
“Nah he’s chill.” I shrug and yawn. “I’ve known him since we were little. He’s the only acceptable one.” I jokingly say as my phone buzzes.
“Where are you guys from? I don’t mean to sound rude but…” Rumi trails off, trying to figure out how to put it nicely.
“I’m as pale as a ghost? Trust me, I know. We’re from some city in America, isn’t important.” I wave her off with a chuckle and look at my phone.
Where are you????
I quickly glance at the time.
“Shit. Uh, I gotta go.” I quickly stand and leave my barely touched drink. “It was nice speaking to you. Have Mira give you my number and we can hang again sometime!”
“Wait! Where are you going?” Rumi stands and grabs my wrist. My face flushed red, staring at her hand.
“Um, work. Boys need me…” I whisper, looking up at her, staring into those big brown eyes. Rumi flushed pink, slowly pulling her hand away.
“Oh! Right… Good luck.” Rumi smiles at me, there’s a hint of disappointment? No, that can’t be right. I don’t know, I don’t have the time to think about it.
“Bye!” I quickly rush out of the cafe and jump into my car.
As I arrived at the studio I was immediately surrounded by fans.
“Eve! When will the Saja boys play next!?!”
“We love Saja!”
“I got a tattoo of the Saja Boys!!”
I quickly pushed through them all into the building. Letting out a sigh I lean against the door. Is this my new life? Listening to screaming fans. Goodbye eardrums.
“Eve!” Ben rushed up to me. “Saja Boys need your help.” Ben slapped his hands onto my shoulders and stared into my eyes.
“What’d they do?”
“They forgot what to say for the interview! They’re talking nonsense! Cute nonsense but still nonsense!” Ben started dragging me to the dressing room.
“Ben. Calm down.”
“Sorry!”
“It’s fine, just chill out.” I push past Ben into the dressing room. Shirtless men, everywhere. Ew. Should have knocked.
“Eep!” Ben hid behind the wall, I could feel his face heating up from here.
“Why is Benny telling me you forgot what to say? How do you forget?! You thank the fans, be nice and professional, tease new music! That’s it!” I stormed into the room and crossed my arms.
“Woah, Eve, babe. Changing here!” Abs scoff and flexed a bit.
“As if I care! Get your asses ready before I hurt you!” The boys quickly started running around the room, finishing their outfits and getting their final touches ready.
“Yes, Ma’am!” They all called out, fear in their eyes. The only way to control a bunch of boys is with a stern attitude and hard resolve. They just won’t listen otherwise.
“Jinu.” I narrowed my eyes at him.
“Um, yes?” His voice went up an octave.
“Take the lead. Don’t let the boys answer any questions unless they are directly asked. Got it?” I glared at him, ready to start fighting if he disagreed.
“Yes! Yes, Ma’am!” Jinu bowed low and started telling off the other boys.
“Seriously. Be yourselves to a degree. Don’t tell the world about your sexual habits, don’t be inappropriate." I side eye Abs. “Do not bring up anything that is unrelated to the question, and for the love of god, please do not ruin your image.” I let out a sigh and walked away. “Fuck me gently with a chainsaw.” I mutter in English, done with this press tour already. I heard Ben chuckle before letting out a squeak from Abs flirting. Abs is such a bisexual and it pains me that he doesn’t even know it. Wait. Fuck I should have told them to be as straight as possible! These boys will get touchy with each other so often it makes me question them. Fuck-
“Saja Boys to the stage. Live in 5!” A voice over the speaker called out, causing the boys to run out and past me. I hear a chorus of thank you’s and similar words.
“Good luck Saja. Lord, do you need it.” I mumble, walking to the stage, hanging out behind the camera.
After a few hours of press the boys are on their way to get their picture taken, again. They’re going to be in a magazine for up and coming KPOP groups. No stress, won’t be too hard.
I said, too hopeful. Abs is insisting on being shirtless! The company is agreeing if ALL the boys go shirtless! Do we really want them to be seen as degenerates already!?
“No, no. Look. My other boys aren’t comfortable with that. Abby does not make decisions for the group. If he wants to go shirtless and you’re okay with that then great! Do NOT force the others to do it! Understood!?” I point in the photographer's face, snarl on my face.
“Y-Yes!” He whimpered out, running away. I sigh and brush off my clothes. Maybe that was a bit harsh, but to be fair I am running on zero hours of sleep and can’t deal with bullshit right now. Looking back at the boys I see Jinu and Baby give me appreciative looks. They’re so lucky to have a manager as amazing as me. I won’t let this industry exploit them. Slowly I walked back up to the boys, a strained smile on my face.
“So! No one else needs to go shirtless. It’s too early in your career to be doing that anyway. We’re trying to build a brand around all of you separately and as a group. Abs, if you want to then great! That will fit your brand amazingly. Do not force your band mates to do the same. Not only is it bad for their image, it makes them uncomfortable, okay?” I weakly smile at the himbo.
“Okayyyy, I get it. Sorry dudes.” Abs wraps them in a hug. They all hug back, some of them slower than others.
“Get back out there guys. You got this.” I encourage them and start to shoo them away. They quickly and naturally pose for the camera. Shouldn’t be here for much longer. Hopefully. Looking at the time we should have time to get the boys lunch. It’s only 1pm.
“Hey, lunch?” I call out to the boys, they start yelling over each other and forget the camera. “One at a time, please.” I chuckle a bit and look at them all.
“Dumplings!” Abs smiled brightly, shaking Mystery.
“Ramyeon.” Mystery quietly muttered.
“Tteokbokki, please.” Romance smirked, quickly going back to posing. Is he mogging?
“Something spicy.” Baby of course gave me nothing else to work with.
“Whatever is easiest, Miss Manager.” Jinu bowed his head a little bit.
Oh Jinu, always the most considerate. Ben walked up to me and wrote down a list of places in the area with those food items.
“How’d you get that so quick?” I smirked.
“Oh! Uh, was also hungry! Yup!” Ben stuttered out.
“Really? Not cause you have a big fat crush and know what the boys like?” I whisper, teasing him.
“No! Uh, bye!” Ben ran off to, well I don’t know, away. I chuckle a bit and look at the list. Okay, sounds doable. I quickly send a text to Ben to have the boys meet in the lounge for lunch when they’re done.
Walking the street wasn’t difficult. Walking the street when your arms are full of scalding hot food? That was difficult. I quickly mutter to the people passing by, hoping they can hear my apologies as I push past. Right as I’m about to enter the building I walk into someone.
“Sorry!” I called out, moving the food in my arms to see if they were okay.
“Eve?” Zoey smiled up at me, taking a step back. “What a coincidence! Funny seeing you here.” Zoey said, not suspicious at all. "What're you doing here?"
“Uh, working?” I smile a bit and walk past her. “Can’t talk, sorry. Boys need food! Text me?” I call out to her as I start to walk away.
“Yeah! Sure!” Zoey cheerfully exclaimed.
Zoey watched the girl walk away. Her heart was racing. She couldn’t let this cute fan get her soul taken by some smelly demons. Zoey frowned and slowly followed her, stopping at the building she had just gone into. Would it be weird if she followed her? Yes. It would. Zoey sighed and pouted. She pulled out her phone and messaged her girls.
“Here we go.” I carefully placed the food down and the second it hit the table the boys rushed forward to get their food. I giggled, handing Ben a bag of food as well. “Eat up!” I called out.
“You gonna eat?” Baby questioned, tearing into his extra spicy food. I had to beg them to make it spicier than normal so Baby could actually feel the kick.
“Huh? Oh…” I looked down at the bags, realising I forgot to get myself something. “Nah, ate a big breakfast!” I smiled at the group, lying.
“Want some of mine?” Ben offered his food and I quickly shook my head.
“Gotta go. Tell the other interviewers that we won’t be answering any questions that aren’t related to their song.” I scoff, earlier some guy was asking them personal questions. Had to cut the interview short, the boys looked super uncomfortable. If they don’t want to talk about their past, they don’t have to.
The rest of the day went smoothly, although around 3pm my stomach started growling up something fierce. Ate a protein bar and moved on, didn’t have time for anything else. I drove behind the boys SUV, arriving at their warehouse slash home. Stepping out I hugged them all one by one.
“We'll do it all again tomorrow guys. Hope you’re ready. Get plenty of sleep.” I sent them off to their place and dragged my feet back to my car. Ben hopped in the driver's seat before I could. “Ben.”
“You’re dead on your feet. Lemme drive.” I sighed and crawled into the passenger’s side, curling up, ready to sleep. “Good work today. Take a nap and I’ll cook dinner when we’re home.”
“Not hungry.” I mumbled, closing my eyes.
“Fine, but you’re eating breakfast with me tomorrow.”
“Deal.” I smile softly. Quickly it disappeared as my phone buzzed.
“Leave it.” Ben drove off, frowning.
“Could be important.” I mumble, blindly reaching for it. I hold it up to my face and squint as it blinds me.
Hope you had a good day.
Dinner?
Feel bad bout this morning
A smile reappeared before I let out a sigh.
Tired.
Raincheck?
Tomorrow.
perfect
Text me your address, i’ll pick you up at 8.
I send through my address and look at Ben.
“Guess who’s got a date.”
“For real?!”
“Nah.” I laugh, swinging my head back.
“Rude.” Ben pouted as we pulled into the driveway.
“Mira invited me to dinner. So don’t worry, I’ll eat plenty for dinner.”
“Oh? Yeah?” Ben smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Not like that!” I blushed and hid my face. Ben roared out in laughter and pulled me into a hug. “Probably wants me to set Huntrix up with the boys. Totes crushing on them.” I mumble, shaking the blush off. Yeah, that’s all it is. They want me to be their wingman. Right?
