Heaven Gaia Spring 2019 Haute Couture Collection
The first thing you noticed when you awoke, was the clear blue sky, and the feeling of rain pattering gently against your face.
Blinking blearily, you tried to make sense of your surroundings, the whole world feeling off kilter as you sluggishly tilted your head. Soon enough, a face came into view, and instantly you frowned, noticing the tears and the expression of pure anguish on their face.
Much to your dismay, you found yourself unable to comfort them, your body feeling like lead, and your hands strangely slick as they opened and closed uselessly. With frustration and confusion fuelling you, you let your head loll to the side clumsily, only realising you were in the persons arms when they instantly shifted their hold on you in response and drew you closer to their chest, unintentionally allowing you a proper view of yourself and the world around you.
“There’s so much red…”
Was your slightly distant thought, your gaze roaming over the area dazedly until it finally locked on the object jutting out of your chest, your mind struggling to connect the dots as the pain gradually started trickling back in. The sound of muffled begging and feeling of light rain, barely even registered as you finally gave up trying to make sense of everything, letting your gaze shift back up to the bright sky overhead.
“What a beautiful day…”
Person A: “I think my house may be haunted…”
Person B: “What gave it away? The claw marks on the ceiling or the messages written in blood?”
You’d never understood why people were so afraid of the house that sat on the corner of your street, even if it was supposedly where some kind of witch lived. Sure it was a little gloomy and eccentric looking, and it did have quite an unsettling air to it, but in all honesty, you’d always been far too distracted to properly notice.
Though you’d sensed the unnerving air that surrounded the property, when you first moved here, you hadn’t paid all that much attention to it, not after you’d seen the cute black cat that was resting on the mailbox that day.
It had ended up taking quite a long time, but with handfuls of handmade treats, sweet words, and a hell of a lot of patience, you’d eventually gotten the cat to warm up to you and allow itself to be pet, even choosing to leave home early of a morning, so that you could spend more time talking to them and smothering them in affection, never even noticing as that faint unsettling feeling, faded away completely.
Much to your surprise and delight, the “witch” seemed to have all kinds of animals on the property, though you never saw more than one at a time. Over the months you had been living here, you’d seen and befriended a cat, a dog, a horse, a goat, and even a fox and a raven! Though you weren’t entirely sure if the last two actually lived there, or if they’d just been drawn by the temptation of treats.
Despite all of this however, you’d never seen even a hint of the so called “witch” that lived there, and after a while you couldn’t help but start to worry that you were bothering them by lingering outside their front gate so often. Which was why you took more than just animal treats with you one morning, carefully depositing the neatly wrapped package into the mailbox, along with a sheepish apology letter, smiling and petting the cat as it sniffed at it curiously
Hopefully they enjoyed your cooking as much as their pets did.
Writing Prompt #1249
“Stay in my chambers tonight.” The princess smoothed plush sheets and blankets around her. She offered a smile to her handmaiden. “It’s cold in the quarters they give you, is it not? I assure you, I have ample room to share.”
Writing Prompt #1271
I was never meant to be the protagonist. I’m a coward, lazy, and motivated by selfish means.
…the problem is that I am also very bad at saying no to things.
Writing Prompt #1266
Life was full of mysteries, and my mother always said that’s what made it interesting. Of course, my mother left when I was fourteen and made herself a mystery, so I don’t know if she was the best source of inspiration.

Kipo & friends watch the sunset from a flower shop
Quiet whispers and giggles, drifted on the breeze as you sat kneeling before your rather bountiful vegetable patch, the sounds almost akin to that of windchimes. In clear view before you, the source of said sounds, happily flitted about and danced to unheard tunes as they watched you tend to the garden, occasionally perching on your shoulders to chatter softly in your ear, or tuck flowers in your hair.
Though you knew you were meant to be more wary of their kind, their presence had honestly never failed to bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart, even when you were still a child and living a rather unfortunate life.
Despite the memories this town held, it had truly been a dream come true when you had finally managed to come back here as an adult, though the unexpected sight of the burnt remains of your childhood home, had surprisingly helped soothe some of those old wounds, quite a bit. Rather luckily, you’d been able to save up just enough to buy a small little rundown cottage, right on the outskirts of town, its proximity to the forest having meant that it went for surprisingly cheap, as no one else dared to buy it.
You’d been worried that your old friends wouldn’t be there, at first, or that perhaps they simply wouldn’t want to interact with you anymore, after having been away so long and grown so much. Much to your relief however, your fears had been completely unfounded, every single one of them having been delighted, seemingly recognising you the instant you stepped foot in the overgrown garden.
Whilst you had learnt rather quickly that you would get nothing done if you tried to work while you were outside, whenever you weren’t working, you spent almost all of your time outdoors, using your need to fix up the cottage and tend to the garden as an excuse to do so.
When you had woken today however, something had felt… different, as though something big was going to happen. A feeling that only increased when you noticed how different your friends were acting.
As the day went on, that feeling grew stronger and stronger, until finally it all came to a head.
Freezing as everything suddenly fell silent, you lifted your head slowly, somewhat alarmed to see that all of your friends had backed off slightly, their expressions torn between a mix of hopeful excitement and nervousness as they eagerly waited to see what would come next. With a pounding heart, you carefully followed their line of sight, your breath hitching as your eyes landed upon the ethereal being standing on the edge of the forest, their intense gaze making you shiver.
It took only a glance for you to understand that you were in the presence of someone, not only of high status, but most likely of an incredibly high rank amongst one of the courts, as well.
To say that you were nervous, would have been a grave understatement.
Person A: “Fucking hell, you look like someone just tried to kill you or something.”
Person B: “Funny you should mention it.”
To say that you were entranced by the creature before you, would be an understatement, as not even the reality of your situation seemed to dull the somewhat terrifyingly level of interest that had formed within you. From the moment you had been shoved into this dank cell and caught a glimpse of it pacing in the one opposite your own, your mystified expression of wonder hadn’t once left your face, nor had your eyes managed to stray.
Much to your sincere surprise, it was an interest that appeared to go both ways. At least if the creatures current behaviour was anything to go by.
When you had first been thrown in here, it had been far too focused on the visibly uneasy guards, to pay you any notice, all of its attention having been directed entirely towards them, as it paced the confines of its heavily fortified cell in agitation, occasionally snapping its teeth at them from behind the enchanted bars. In fact, it wasn’t until the guards had bid their hasty retreat and disappeared completely from view, that the creature had even seemed to realise you were there at all.
Rather swiftly it had made its displeasure known, its teeth bared in a terrifying snarl as it glared at you with glowing eyes, returning to its agitated pacing. Thankfully however, that had steadily changed, the hatred in the creatures eyes, slowly turning to curiosity instead, most likely due to your lack of fear or disgust, given its rather dark and terrifying appearance.
Eventually, the two of you had fallen into the state you were in now, both of your bodies pressed as close as the bars would allow, simply so that you could take the sight of each other in, a little easier. Though privately you wished there was no distance or barriers at all, something instinctively urging you to draw nearer, despite the danger such an action would no doubt put you in.
Surprisingly, the silence that had settled between you, was quite a comfortable one, the two of you now locked in a somewhat dazed staring match, with none of the hostility one would expect between such differing beings. Especially when one of them looked as they did.
Distantly, you wondered if it too, could feel the strange connection that seemed to be forming.
Person A: “You really put aside everything and came all this way, for me? How did you even get here so fast?”
Person B: “Several traffic violations, three counts of resisting arrest, and roughly thirteen cans of energy drink…. Also that’s not my car.”
