“NO, I-” SILENCE WAS HEARD AS MAISYN LISTENED
intently to the person on the other line. Inhaling a bit she closed her eyes, her body language indicating that this was just one more thing in her morning to go south. “The red one with the-?” she paused again, taking a couple of steps forwards as it was evident the person on the other end was still letting Maisyn have it. Sighing, she nodded though she knew no one could see her and she rested her phone in between her ear and her shoulder, her other hand holding her now cold coffee as she dug through her bag to find paper. “Okay, what’s the address..” she spoke, her voice growing alarmed as she realized the coffee was now toppling out of her hand and landing on the feet of the person moving her direction. Looking up with a slight plea to keep them from yelling at her, Maisyn closed her eyes, swallowing as the other gave her the address and she quickly jotted it down before hanging up. “I am so sorry! Are you alright?”
Iris was quick to pick up Lizbeth as the coffee splattered the pavement in front of them. She was prepared to say something to the person about being more careful. However, the woman looked frazzled enough and the lack of burns on her leg meant the coffee must already be cold. So she finds herself offering up a warm smile and a dismissive hand wave. No one was hurt after all. She could get the coffee stains out of her pants and Lizbeth wasn’t aware of anything. The little girl seemed to think it had been a fin game and was giggling at being picked up so quickly.
“I’m fine. Are you alright?”
