hello tumblr !! ♡
i guess this isnt quite a proper introduction post or at least the start of one.
i’ve been working on my own undertale au for a while now, mostly quietly and kind of just building it up for myself. but recently i started sharing some of it over on instagram, and the feedback i received there was honestly so kind that it made me want to finally bring it over here too.
so… hi. this is me officially introducing kinda my project :] one of the core ideas behind my AU is something i’ve felt about the undertale community for a long time a lot of NPCs tend to get overlooked, or reduced to being weak, forgettable, or just background filler. and while i get why that happens, it always felt like a shame to me.
I believe that even those small characters have potential. they have stories. they could matter. So instead of focusing only on the usual main cast, i decided to build my AU around that exact idea: giving those NPCs a chance to be more. reimagining them, expanding them, and letting them take center stage in their own way.
which leads me to one of the three protagonists of this AU: froggit 🐸✨
in my version, froggit isn’t just a small enemy you encounter at the beginning , he’s a fully developed character with his own importance to the story, his design and personality are heavily inspired by vietnamese culture, especially the symbolism tied to lunar new year, where frogs represent luck and prosperity. That symbolism became a really important foundation for how i approached his character, both visually and narratively.
this is just the beginning, but i’m really excited (and a little nervous) to finally share more of this world here.
(A little bonus of froggit interacting w Xchara)
thank you for reading if you made it this far ♡
