To the Touch
Alec says, âIâve never done this before.â
âI know.â Magnus brushes the tip of his nose cross Alecâs. Alec hadnât known there were so many ways to be close.
...
Three weeks after Jace goes missing, Alec takes up Magnus on that drink date. Drinks happen, and so does a lot of kissing.
Plan B
Alec thunks his head back against the floor and starts laughing. Because nothing is going right tonight, and he really has no game, but itâs ended up with Magnus draped over him, so how can he complain.
-
Alec and Magnus go on their second date. Nothing goes as plan, but it still goes wonderfully.
To be Enough
Magnusâ runs his thumbs over Alecâs knuckles, their hands still locked together. âThe fact that youâre sparing a bit of your time, a bit of your heart, for me⌠Thatâs all I ever wanted.â
âThatâs enough?â
âMy darling, those are the most valuable things any of us has.â
âŚ
Simon jokes about the third date rule, Alec panics, Magnus reassures.
Vigil
âIâd let my heart be destroyed by you, Alec Lightwood.â
...
Alec has a near-death experience. Magnus saves the day, but it forces them, as a couple, to confront Alecâs mortality.
It's the Little Things
âEvery blush and fumble, every new kiss always with more confidence than the last, every inch of skin newly revealed, every time Alec trusted him with a new layer of intimacy or a new secret, every time Alec did little things, unconsciously or purposefully, like remembering dinner orders or covering Magnus with a blanket when he fell asleep on the couch... It made Magnus feel young again. As a century old warlock who has seen more than most mortal minds could comprehend, it took a lot to make him feel young.â
Magnus is exhausted; Alec is a good boyfriend. They shower together; Alec washes Magnusâ hair. Thatâs it. Thatâs the plot.
Bared
âYou like it when I tell you what to do,â Magnus says. He doesnât need to specify âduring sexytimes.â
âI trust you,â Alec says.

Magnus and Alec negotiate some bedroom dynamics (and also matters of the heart).
