my take on this whole interview thing and why the NHL keeps getting connected to OC is probably amazon’s money. but i also really don't think the NHL wants to be heavily linked to HR because of the homophobia (obviously), plus the storylines coming up in seasons 2 and 3. (Spoiler alert: we're looking at mental health, a homophobic league, homophobic teammates, a homophobic commissioner, and SA)

of course the NHL wouldn't love that. it makes the actual league look terrible, even though it's a very real problem in real life, not just fiction.

aside from all of that, i actually think it's better for mack (in this case, will included) to have zero contact with HR at all. not because it's gay, but because of the fans. their shippers/rpfers literally scare me to death. trust me, the last thing we want is to attract that kind of fandom to willmackville and turn this whimsical little place into literal hell

but dang, i would really really love to see a willmack interview with hudcon. wish everyone was a lot more chill

i'll never understand why some anons come into specific people's asks to preach about boundaries in rpf and all that stuff yadayadayada, sometimes even in a shaming way, instead of just writing it on their own blog.

don't get me wrong, i agree we should respect their privacy, and they're real ppl just living their lives.

but like if you genuinely wanna encourage people to have better shipper etiquette and remind them to have boundaries, say it with your own chest instead of hiding behind anonymous asks. make your own post, tag it properly, maybe it'll actually reach the people you're trying to talk to instead of terrorizing random rpf blogs in their asks.
