What You Don't Know Can't Hurt You [Emelia and Luke]
Luke: sucked in the ice cold air into his lungs, relishing the burn that singed his lips, throat, and chest. He had been putting this off despite his parents wishes but now he realized he couldn't do that anymore. Luke had always been a pessimist but if there was one person who could make him conjure up some hope it was his step sister. He didn't know what would be worse to have her look at him the way his parents did, at least he didn't have to wonder how people at funerals looked any more, or her convincing him he should be doing anything other than assuming he was as good as done for. Either way he wouldn't want to wonder for much longer, he could see someone coming through his window now.

Emmy: How far along is it? How long have you known?
Luke: I've known for about 4 months? And pretty early on i feel fine

“A) the library is boring and B) I’m not a jackass. I’m a bitch, get it right.”
“Ha, well I’m sorry to disrespect a bitch like you. And sure it’s boring but it gives out some nice volunteer hours. You need them to graduate so...”

Emmy: Tell me now before I climb in your window, take your balls in my hand and squeeze... really hard
Luke: wow okay I actually believe you'd do that
Luke: I don't think I'm gonna go to school next semester because I'm gonna be starting my chemo
Luke: I did what you wanted can you leave me alone now?
Text: emmy---luke
Luke: Em would be mad if I told you before her
Emmy: I won't tell her you did. Stop stalling.
Luke: If I can't make you leave me alone can I interest you in a different conversation
TEXT:EMELIA⇄LUKE
Eme: Jerk. I'm coming.
Luke: That's me. + alright
Text: emmy---luke
Emmy: I promise Iwont do that. Talk to me and then I'll pretend we never had the conversation.
Emmy: That's up to me to decide.
Luke: Em would be mad if I told you before her
Text: emmy---luke
Emmy: I promise I won't look at you any differently..
Emmy: I want to be around you regardless... for some reason
Luke: I swear you will or you'll try to talk to me for hours about it and no offense but I don't want that either
Luke: funny but I'm serious I'm just a waste of your time now
Everything at Once || Luke and Leighton
Luke: shot his head at the screen that told him he had once again died. "I swear this controller is jinxed," he chuckled knowing the other boy was expertly talented at this game. He wasn't bad himself but at this point he doubted he'd win a single game, not that he cared about that though. It was great to be out of his house where his parents eyes followed him with a sadness that left a chill in his bones more than ever and to be with the guy next to him that always somehow got him to laugh. He realized he wasn't the easiest crowd and he'd been harder recently, he just didn't want to hurt anyone and staying away from people who were overly invested in his life seemed like the best game plan to him. It was good to have Leighton though, a new friend who had slipped through the cracks and whom he could tell himself didn't count as one of those people he had to protect, "Thanks for the invite." It was rather random of a statement to make at the time he had but it was true.

Emmy: Then tell me what's going on. You trust me and I'll trust you.
Luke: you're gonna look at me differently after and I don't need that
Luke: I don't want that
Luke: but it's not fair for you to keep being around me okay and if you knew you'd want to to cus people are dumb like that okay
Text: emmy---luke
Emmy: Not going to school next semester? You really think I'm gonna let someone as smart as you drop out?
Luke: I'm not dropping out you don't understand

Text: emmy---luke
Emmy: You're asking me to let you do something dumb as shit, Luke.
Luke: let me do something dumb as shit?
Luke: I'm not doing anything
Text: emmy---luke
Emmy: No I wont.
Emmy: tell me what's going on and I won't call her right now.
Luke: Yes you will you don't know what you're talking about okay
Luke: I'm not gonna tell you and you're not gonna talk to her I've done you plenty of favors over the years and I need you to do me one. That can't be that hard
Text: emmy---luke
Emmy: What the fuck?
Luke: you'll be glad you did
Luke: and I don't think I'm going to school next semester
Luke: don't tell Emelia I said any of this either okay
