Update time!

The first Patreon demo for Chapter 5 is finally out now, and yep, this one’s a pretty big one. You guys are getting 2 fully playable weeks, a bunch of hobby and relationship events, the Creep confrontation, the dad confrontation, and the first real push into the revenge/answers part of the story.

This is also the first time you can really start doing stuff instead of just setting everything up. The hobby events now actually matter more, since they unlock new weekly actions and move some plots forward, and the MC can start actually digging into answers. So there’s a lot more scheming, a lot more tension, and a lot more ways to make everything worse.

Some of the bigger stuff in this demo includes learning more about how Olivia and Dylan feel about the Tragedy, starting to plan how to get them to actually crack, the beginning of Mr. Gibbs’ downfall, relay team drama, band drama, and an ally who forces themself into the mix whether you like it or not, if you were anti-allies before. And, of course, Isaac being Isaac and making everything worse in public.

There’s also a pretty huge word count jump with this one, so there’s a lot to dig through if you’ve been waiting for more Chapter 5 content. The full chapter still has a lot more coming, but this is the point where things really start moving.

June Q&A

Hello! Yes, I'm not dead! It's cute that I have to announce this every time I disappear for an undisclosed amount of time, considering I did actually die once.

The reason I've been so silent is because I put my head down, ignored absolutely everything, and went ham on actually writing. So, quick update before I jump into this Q&A: I'm very close to releasing the first "half" of Chapter 5 on Patreon. That means we shouldn't be too far from the full release, since the second half is more focused on set events, like the Halloween party, which should be easier to write and require less imagination on my part.

Anyway, let's actually post something, because it's been too long.

Are you doing okay?

Yeah. Between exams, work, and the IF, I just didn't have much time for half-assed updates. But I managed to get a bit of free time now, so I'll get back to managing the socials again too.

"He looks you up and down. "You know, I don't think we've had a single one‑on‑one conversation since you moved back.""

This line from Isaac is a mistake. I know I probably just killed half the fanbase with this statement, but yeah, I fucked up and have no idea why I wrote that back there. Might be because English is my second language and I sometimes make stupid fucking mistakes. So no, Isaac did not allude to the fact that you lived in Penden before, I'm just stupid. I'm sorry.

Will fix this when I come out with the next update.

What did "real dad" think about the "Creeps" display at Homecoming?

He will have an absolutely horrible reaction and confrontation with the MC at the start of the new chapter.

early in the game we can choose how much experience the MC has on the matters of ~love~ wink wink, will it be addressed by other characters? like, if we chose for MC to have zero experience and decide to go all the way with Isaac, will it have some flavor text?

Yeah, the text in romantic encounters changes based on experience. A first kiss for someone who has never kissed anyone is a bit more amateurish and "brutish." Same with sex scenes. But after you do it once or twice, your "experience" stat updates and you start getting the regular scenes.

In the canon order, and how the other people see them, which characters are the most to least attractive?

Cecily, Michael, Vivian, Connor, Dylan, Olivia, Haley, Isaac

So my question is, will you (or the story itself) make us feel bad for going overboard on the revenge? Or at least express that what we did was just too far?

The story will never tell you that what you're doing is bad. Sure, I will break the fourth wall from time to time to shame you, but I will never explicitly say that what you've done is "wrong." That will be left to the people around the player. Obviously, going hard for revenge will not make the MC many friends. But there will be people who support you no matter how far you go with it. So it's going to be a slippery slope, and you will feel bad based on your own empathy, not because I'll be telling you your character is having some insane regret over what they're doing. Your character will feel however you want them to feel, but you will be hated, and the world won't look better for the kids at school after the revenge, just different.

just to let you know i managed to hit the ‘intimate’ status with michael (though it only lasted a couple pages hahaha). not complaining! just hilarious, don’t you have a girl already buddy boy?

That's, um, a bug. The way I implemented the system is that you can't get to Intimate until something "big" happens. But sometimes between pages you might see that you're Intimate until the stats update properly.

will there be different endings (like e.g. good/bad or in other words MC is succesfull/fails/abandons their revenge)?

There will be character endings, the way the story ends for each character, i.e. Isaac ends up in prison, or he's reformed and in college, on his way to becoming a lawyer, or he overdoses from sadness after the MC dies. All of that is fabricated, by the way, don't take it seriously. Or maybe do. The reformed one is clearly fake though. There will also be an ending for the MC based on what they did, how far they went, how sane they are, and so on. So yeah, there will definitely be a bunch of different variations to the endings. Kinda like the slideshows they do in CRPGs.

how difficult will it be to achieve the ""good"" ending/"MC succeed in their revenge"-ending? do i, the player need to be a mastermind myself or will it be enough to simply avoid picking "stupid" choices (exaggerated example: [A] tell them your complete revenge plan OR [B] don't tell them about your revenge)

Generally, the player will just have to avoid making stupid choices and time their plans properly. For example, there are some targets that will completely change the game if they're targeted often, making the whole thing more difficult. It also depends on what you consider a "successful" revenge. You'll ruin people's lives one by one, and you'll have to live through the consequences while going after the others. I think a lot of the appeal of my story is the experience itself too, seeing these people and their layers, and deciding based on what you see whether they deserve revenge, and at what scale. But getting revenge on them isn't "difficult," especially since the MC is supposed to be smarter than average, so it just depends on what kind of revenge you want to take on them.

once i pick a RO i usually try to minmax/maximize "screen time" with them. e.g. if there is a situation like "you have a free afternoon. with whom do you want to spend time with?" i always choose my picked RO. would this be a bad idea if i aim for the ""good"" ending? so would i need to manually balance the time spend with each character, like e.g. "In chapter 2 i spend time with RO A, meaning in chapter 3 i should spend time with someone else; then in chapter 4 again someone different etc.

Not really. Once we get into Chapter 6, I'm thinking of adding hate events too, which trigger if you have a bad relationship with the ROs, so it's not like you can't learn their secrets unless you follow them around like a puppy. But the way I made the game work, it's close to impossible not to interact with most of them anyway. And the closer you are to them, the more special individual events you'll get, which will snowball. I would recommend focusing on one or two people max, since that's how you can manage to see the most of what they have to offer, especially since you can always just play the game again haha.

Lately I've been seeing more and more comments from people reading High School Revenge who don't really want to romance anyone in the story. Which, fair enough, most of them are pretty terrible people, and I haven't really had the chance to develop them all properly yet. But I'm genuinely curious what the actual percentage is, just so I can get a better idea of how much I should be focusing on romance. I've been wanting to add a proper date mechanic following homecoming, but I want to know how much effort to put into it if the majority of people have zero interest in romancing these fuck-ups.

Dylan Public Hoco Ask POV (MaleMC) - Side Story

The deal was simple: show up, look good, and get free clothes.

I did not need to overcomplicate this.

I've done a hundred of these. Brand walks in, offers something, and I show up with my face and my following and my ability to make standing in a fitting room look like a cultural event. It's a clean transaction. I like those.

What I hadn't accounted for was the MC variable.

When the MC messaged me, "hey, want to do a homecoming fit stream together?" my first instinct was no, because I don't share the limelight. My second instinct was yes, because I'd watched him walk into a room three times now and each time the room had shifted in a way that I've spent four years and two social media consultants trying to manufacture. Whatever he has, it's certainly a skill I should learn from.

Annoying, honestly.

I said yes anyway, because I'm not an idiot, and because the analytics on any stream featuring him would be genuinely insane, and because, I'm not going to examine this one, being around him makes me feel like I can drop a sentence without calculating it first. Which is either really nice or really stupid and I've been going back and forth on that for three weeks.

The store was called something like Meridian or Meridiem, I didn't care honestly. The owner shook my hand too firmly and gave me the smile of a man who had googled my follower count that morning. I was polite. I'm always polite to people who might be useful later.

The MC arrived exactly on time. Punctuality means you've thought about someone else's schedule. Most people I deal with haven't.

"Ready?" he asked.

"Was born ready," I said, which is the dumbest sentence in the English language, and I use it reflexively because it buys me half a second to recalibrate.

Four thousand concurrent in the first minute.

For a collab with someone who doesn't have a channel. I made a mental note to mention that to him, then immediately unmade it, because complimenting people makes them comfortable, and comfortable people get familiar, and familiar people start asking questions I don't keep answers to.

I ran the show the way I always do. Fast and a little mean in a way that makes people laugh, bouncing between the clothes and the chat like I'm playing two instruments. I kept dressing the MC in things and telling myself it was just good content but honestly, standing three feet away and saying no, try the grey one was the most relaxed I'd felt all week, and I was absolutely not going to make that weird by noticing it.

I was mid-sentence about the casual Friday energy of a particular jacket when the chat started going insane.

Not normal insane. Not the omg Dylan I love you insane or the price check on those jeans insane. The carpet-bombing-emoji kind. The something-is-happening-in-frame-that-I-don't-know-about kind.

I stopped.

"What? Did I say something weird?"

Behind you. Behind you. DYLAN BEHIND YOU. A string of hearts. A string of things I couldn't read fast enough.

I turned around.

The banner was white. Block letters. Completely clean.

Will you go to homecoming with me?

My brain did something it almost never does.

It went quiet.

For half a second, genuinely, half a second, there was nothing in there except the banner and his face and the chat going nuclear and a feeling I couldn't name fast enough to stop it from being there.

Oh, said something in the back of my head.

Monthly Progress Update - Apr 2026

EDIT: Btw, happy 8 year anniversary since Chapter 1 dropped. 🎉

Hello, hello! Back with another, you guessed it, monthly progress update for Chapter 5!

It’s been a very productive month under the hood. A lot of systems getting reworked and new ones being built from scratch. The early demo is getting close, so here’s where things stand.

The funds mechanic has been completely reworked. It’s no longer just a number ticking down! There are now 3 different categories (Decent, Huge, and Unlimited*) depending on the career choice you made, each with their own implications and ways they can come back to bite you. Let’s just say mom is going to be a lot more involved in your financial life than she used to be.

On the hobby front, each one now has a “set” event running through the chapter that you can experience either as a participant or a spectator. Baseball’s got a tournament, swimming’s got tryouts and a scrimmage, music’s got a make-or-break gig for the band, drawing’s got a school mural with some very interesting potential for a certain creep, and finance ties more quietly into some ongoing character storylines. I built most of the groundwork, now I just need to write the actual events happening.

There’s also now a way for the MC to do Burt’s job themselves if you’d rather go solo! This is a big ones in my opinion. Though it’ll cost you weekly actions and take significantly longer based on some factors. Burt’s still the smarter option, but for the lone wolves out there, it’s now on the table. You have no idea how annoying it was to go through the Burt reports a 2nd time this chapter, but it’s fine, I just had to add a bunch of *ifs.

An injury mechanic is also in the works. To make things worse for the lone wolves mentioned earlier. Doing dangerous things yourself instead of delegating to your allies will start having real consequences going forward and showing up to school with a suspicious bruise the morning after the Creep was spotted in a fight is going to raise some eyebrows. I’ll give more details on this once I actually implement it properly.

I’ve also started on Dylan’s answers route, which is one of the bigger things I’ve been building toward. You won’t get the full picture just yet (that’s coming at the Halloween party) but Chapter 5 will give us all the answers to his inner demons.

And finally, the one I’m most excited about: if the Creep is back, Isaac isn’t just going to sit quietly. Of course, anyone who took him to homecoming will know he went a bit crazy at the end there. There’s now a full scene where he corners the MC in the cafeteria, in front of the whole school, and starts picking apart their identity piece by piece. And the MC will dig an even deeper hole for their new identity. There’s also a brand new variable tracking the Creep’s public reputation, and how the MC handles this very public grilling is one of the first things that will start moving that needle.

Sneak Peek

I'm doing a thing where the Creep reveal triggers a public interrogation from the popular crowd, and I came up with a few ways to get out of it. But I'm curious if you have suggestions I might have missed.

These guys make the most sense as options since the MC can find ways to offer them something in exchange for playing the role of their fake father. They're also all semi-popular, so there's a good chance someone in the crowd would recognize them and help sell the lie.

I originally had Roy and the chosen mentor in mind, but since I didn't want to leave it at just two choices, I decided to put them all on the table. Anyone I'm missing?

Monthly Progress Update - Mar 2026

Hello! Back with another monthly progress update for Chapter 5!

Most of this month has been spent on the behind-the-scenes stuff that makes the game feel more alive, so bear with me… It sounds less exciting than it is.

The big one is Burt. If you’ve been using him as an ally to dig up info on your targets, he’s getting a serious upgrade in Chapter 5. There are now follow-up investigation reports that go a lot deeper than before. There’s less personality profiling and more actual secrets. And Burt himself has gotten a bit of a personality injection too, so those reports are going to be a lot more fun to read than they used to be. There’s also a brand new profile for a side character some of you might already be familiar with, which sheds some light on their connection to one of the targets. I’ll leave it at that.

I’m also laying the groundwork for an injury mechanic. I was thinking that doing dangerous things yourself instead of delegating to your allies might start having some real consequences for the MC going forward. Still in development, but the foundation is there.

On the hobby front, Chapter 5 is shaping up to have a lot more going on than previous chapters. Baseball players are getting a full bracket tournament that runs through the chapter and wraps up in Chapter 6, with weekly game events along the way. Swimming, on the other hand, is where I’d love your input. I’ve got a bigger “stardom” arc planned for it, and I’m torn between starting it this chapter or pushing it to Chapter 6 or later. Baseball is already getting a decent amount of content this chapter, and I don’t want swimmers to feel like they’re getting the short end of the stick. So genuinely, should I start the swimming arc in Chapter 5, or are you fine waiting a bit longer for it to kick off properly, considering baseball will also start losing unique content once winter starts?

Yep, I guess this is a monthly thing now. And why not, I might as well offer something back in exchange for the time you spend reading my little game. This is more fun than a post with one question, right? Right?! Maybe. I hope it is, otherwise I've just lost one of the ways I thought it'd be fun to engage with everyone. Eh, whatever, I do what I want.

Spoiler alert: we've got about as much redaction in here as the Epstein files. So, not-so-many-spoilers alert, I guess.

First question!

how are we actually meant to get revenge on Olivia? The other characters all obviously have things they can lose [redacted] but with Olivia it's like, [redacted], like idk it just feels like there isn't really a life left to ruin and she doesn't care about anything.

Hah, well. Have you ever heard of "giving someone something and then taking it away?" Heh, heh, heh.

But no, she does have things she cares about, even if she likes to pretend she doesn't.

is there going to be any benefit for choosing the MeTuber option for funds in chapter 2?

I've actually been meaning to add a choice at the end of Chapter 2, during the prep weeks, to reveal your face and get a popularity boost if you're a MeTuber. As for the funds, they're a bit useless right now. It's a feature still in development, so don't worry about it too much. (For now.)

Will we ever see other character POVs in the story?

Side stories on my Patreon and teasers I'll post on Tumblr, but otherwise probably not. High School Revenge is supposed to be a subjective story told from the MC's perspective. Seeing what the other characters are really thinking would give away obvious answers, and that's not really the point.

How much of a new chapter do you have planned out before you begin writing it?

I have the big beats already figured out. I know what the big "thing" is that's supposed to happen at the end of each chapter and which characters get the spotlight. The rest I figure out along the way.

im 100% sure this isnt even somthing that was considered at all but when Issac said he likes to torment his crushes it made me think about him having a crush on the MC when they were kids. if it was a thing would Issac have done anything diffrently in bullying the MC?

Isaac, unfortunately for the Isaac-mancers' dreams, did not have a crush on the MC back then. And this isn't a spoiler or anything. Isaac was, and always has been, just a total dick. Buut, the whole Tragedy clearly triggered some sort of kink in him, so there's that.

Can the targets that aren't [redacted] still discover the player's identity, even if they don't have discovery bars?

Yes. But there's no whole plot-altering mechanic behind it for them. For most of them, just a couple of specific deliberate actions from the MC will be enough to tip them off. Chapter 5 will have two ROs potentially figuring out who the MC is on their own, Chapter 4 already has one, and Chapter 6 will have another target potentially finding out, and that one kicks off a whole "final battle" type plot.

Soo Cecily seems pretty dang competent. The way she can get the others out of trouble and all. Is there a chance we could get her loyalty over to us instead esp on an RO path?

Cecily will never, at least until the endgame, choose the MC over her friends. Her RO route is going to have a lot of eggshells to walk around.

Is it possible to stay friends with some of them after taking revenge 😬? My MC would actually kinda like some of them if it weren't for the past. Also like if I wanna destroy Isaac is it possible to stay on good terms with Haley still?

Yeah, you can stay friends, depending on the severity of the revenge. And yes, you can potentially stay on good terms with Haley even if you destroy Isaac. There will be some specific things that decide whether she ends up an enemy or not on that path.

If after the story ended, the mc is killed by someone (nothing to do with the tragedy, revenge or anything) which RO would take revenge?

Isaac, Vivian, Michael, Cecily, Olivia, Dylan, Connor, Haley, Marcus, and Angela. Oh wait, that's all of them. Yeah, if you romanced one of them and someone hurt the MC, they'd all have the potential to go and get revenge. In case you haven't noticed, they've all got a screw loose.

In a super hero au, what do you think would be the mc and ROs powers?

MC would 100% have some sort of mind reading or suggestion power. Don't know if any of you watched Heroes, but Matt Parkman's telepathy would be it. Which would also put them in a position where they'd have to be smart to win, rather than just overpower everyone.

Isaac would have fire/lava powers. Burn the whole place down. Olivia would fly. I'm not sure why, but it really fits her. Freedom and all that. Michael is a guaranteed super strength and agility combo. The Superman/Homelander package. Vivian would also have some sort of mind control, like MC. Either that or something that seems completely harmless but would totally destroy anyone under the right circumstances. Haley would be invisible. Connor would have precognition. Would absolutely use it to make money. Dylan would have no powers. He'd be that one guy in a world full of powered people. Cecily would have ice powers. Duh. Or a sonic voice, like Black Canary. Marcus would be indestructible. Angela would sparkle like Starlight from The Boys. And would need a lot of support to really come into her own.

Would you ever consider adding in a "cheat mode" of sorts for those who wish to play without the fear of failing skill checks?

Yeah, probably. Once everything is properly done I'll likely add a "god mode."

But I have heard [redacted] can have a bit of an obsession with MC on top of [redacted]. I wanted to ask if it's not too spoilery or uncertain. If we romance [them] actually wanting to be with [them], will our influence always help [them] or could we make [them] worse unintentionally?

There's a good ending with this person where they can be happy-ish, without going too far off the deep end. But it will be one hell of a ride. And yeah, there's a very good chance you'll make them worse if you're not careful.

is isaac one of the ros we can sleep with at the end of chapter 4?

Yes. You can do quite a lot with Isaac if you keep your revenge plans semi-under wraps and nothing goes sideways.

is friendliness the highest affection point in the game? I know as of current that's the highest, but will there be one like "love" or something in the future?

Intimate is the next level, followed by Devoted.

will there be any routes in which you can choose to romance a character and betray them for the angst?

Yep, all of them. That's one of the main premises of this game.

Is there any probability that a target may find out about your plans like singularly without the entire cast knowing? If so, will there be chances of them shifting over to our side?

Kinda already answered this one above, but here's the extra bit. Yes, you can shift characters who figure you out over to your side, even if they found out entirely on their own.

Do you have any plans in the future of making Michael or Vivian romancable?(There are a few "signs" of something, so im asking just in case)

Yes, they're both romanceable. With Vivian there's already some stuff happening if you follow her route, and Michael is going to get some really interesting events next chapter.

IS CONNOR REALLY STRAIGHT../nsrs

Wil we be able to go back to our original name? Like in the end of the game or in a sequel.

Yes. Once the cat's out of the bag, you'll have the choice to be "reborn."

So obviously the main goal of the protag is to get close to the targets and learn their secrets, so there's like this vested interest in being on good terms with them. But there are also these more provocative dialogue options that will obviously tank your relationship with certain characters, like refusing to talk to Cecily in ch3 or interfering with Isaac's pranks. Is there any benefit to having like a bad relationship with any of the targets, or deliberately antagonizing them?

Yes! I love this question and I love that someone actually thought about this. Having a bad relationship with the targets is also a valid strategy. As long as they have a strong opinion about the MC, in either direction, there will be content. There are the obvious relationship events that most of you have already seen, but there will also be negative relationship events on the lesser side in terms of quantity. These only trigger if you have a bad relationship with a target, and they'll show a very different side of them than if they actually liked you. So no, you don't need to bust your back trying to impress everyone. You can also try your absolute hardest to make them hate you.

Olivia CH4 Public Hoco Ask POV - Side Story

Thomas Rourke High has a lot of problems. The food is somehow both overpriced and inedible. The hallways smell like Axe body spray and existential dread. Isaac Freeman exists within these walls, breathing the same air as the rest of us. And now, apparently, my bandmate has decided that a normal Tuesday afternoon practice wasn't enough of a personal attack.

It started like any other rehearsal. Connor was late, obviously. Ramon was being Ramon, which is to say, technically present but spiritually somewhere in Cancun. Lydia was tuning her snare with the focus of a surgeon, and I was running through the bridge of a new chord progression I'd been sitting on for a week. Normal. Peaceful, even. As peaceful as anything in this building gets.

Then the drums started.

Not Lydia's drums. Different drums. Drums that were getting progressively, aggressively louder.

"Isn't it getting louder? And closer?" I said, mostly to myself, because my bandmates are decorative.

"That's Love Without Lust," Lydia announced, practically vibrating off her stool with excitement.

"Ugh," I groaned, because of course it was. Out of every song in our catalogue, and we have some genuinely decent ones, whoever was out there decided to play the one that makes me sound like I wrote it during a fever dream at fourteen. Technically, I did, but that's not the point.

Connor, bless his aggressively useless heart, moved toward the door to close it. He got about halfway there before the marching band opened it for him, filing in with the collective energy of a parade that had made a very wrong turn. Tubas. Clarinets. The full catastrophe.

I stood there watching them flood into our rehearsal space, our rehearsal space, with the detached wonder of someone watching a natural disaster from a safe distance. Okay. So this is happening. This is a thing that is happening to me on a Tuesday.

And then I saw MC grab Ramon's mic.

I want to be very clear: the look on Ramon's face was the funniest thing I have ever witnessed in my eighteen years of life. He stared at that mic like it had personally wronged three generations of his family. For a brief, shining moment, that almost made all of this worth it.

Almost.

The band finished their rendition with a kind of theatrical flourish that I grudgingly had to admit was committed, if nothing else. Then they lifted a banner. A big one. White. Block letters.

HOMECOMING?

I blinked.

The mic crackled as MC tapped it twice.

Monthly Progress Update - Feb 2026

Hello! Back with a monthly progress update for Chapter 5!

After taking some time to rest and deal with some life stuff (exams, because apparently I enjoy suffering), I’ve been heads down writing and things are moving along really well. We’re already past 14k words for the chapter so far.

Chapter 5 picks up right after homecoming night, and things are already messy. The Creep is back, the internet is going absolutely insane trying to figure out who they are, some of your targets are making public statements, and there’s a pretty heated confrontation with dad that can go to some pretty dark places for both of them.

On the more personal side, you’ll get follow-up conversations with anyone you went on a date with, and I’m really happy with how those turned out. And if you had a fun time with Isaac at the end of homecoming night… well, the whole school is going to know about it. You can also complete that dare you gave him. In front of everyone. You know the one.

There’s also a call with mom that brings some genuinely surprising news, which I’m keeping hidden for now. And for anyone who already used Burt to dig into a target’s personality in previous chapters, you can now send him back for a follow-up investigation, this time focused on uncovering their actual secrets. Dylan’s new report is already written and it’s a good one.

The early demo is getting close. I’m aiming for either this month or March. A second Q&A and some side stories are also on the way. Thanks for sticking around, see you soon!

Q&A - 06 Feb 26

I've been getting a lot of questions everywhere since the new Chapter released, so here's me answering 20 of them. If you have any others you'd like me to answer, don't hesitate to hit me with them!

How have you been doing?

Great, really happy with all the feedback I got, happy with the break I took, and excited to get further into Chapter 5 since there's a lot I've got planned for this one!

Has this story evolved since you first planned it out? How much would you say has grown beyond your expectations?

It's grown exponentially. When I came up with the idea for the story, I initially had a very simple sketch of the plot. It was supposed to be an easy story to write to get me started on my writing journey and build me up for future projects. However, because I have a little obsession with creating full, in-depth characters that "make sense," I end up creating extra plots and arcs for each one of them to give them real character. Which has evolved the story very far.

You want to know what I wrote for Haley when I came up with the story? This is all I wrote: "ginger, green eyed painter, rich, twin, curvy, kind, naive, innocent." Anyone who's looked into the game files knows there's, umm, a lot more going on with Haley than that, haha.

So yeah, a simple "short" story about revenge has evolved into a really long character study on the rich and the psychotic.

Will we see that butt plug scene with Isaac in the next chapter?

Yes.

With the story that you have in mind right now, and knowing the things MC can do in the future, who do you think is worse, Isaac or a MC who took the most cruel choices?

Both are very bad in different ways. MC's cruelty can be relatable. Isaac's cruelty is entertaining. But if you go purely on potential results, I think MC can be worse. Isaac could end up being more reactive than proactive in the endgame.

Who are your favourite and least favourite characters to write?

I love writing Isaac and Cecily, if it wasn't obvious. With Isaac it's always an experiment of surprising myself with what he does each time, which is very entertaining. And for Cecily I have a lot of fun trying to humiliate both the MC and other characters. It's really fun going crazy trying to humiliate the MC all the time.

Back when I started, I disliked writing Connor because I didn't have a clear vision of who he was, but that's not true anymore. I love writing all of the ROs now. I don't dislike writing about any characters anymore. The only thing that can make me dislike writing someone is if I don't understand them, but I have a clear understanding of all of them now.

From most to least, which ROs are the weakest when it comes to intimacy? Let’s suppose they’re angry with the MC, and the MC uses intimacy as a way to distract them from being mad. Which one would be the most likely to give in?

Isaac and Angela would likely be easiest to distract using intimacy. They're very, umm... easily manipulated using that tactic.

Cecily is the least likely to be affected by this... skill.

I don't know if this has been addressed already, but will there be an opportunity to romance Wren?

We'll see. Wren is more of a support character/spy that's supposed to be there for MCs who decide they don't want any allies, at least in the early game. The only romance I'd see happening with Wren is a potential fling, but nothing serious or truly romantic.

Will there be any consequences to romancing more than one character? Say if I decide to romance both Cecily and Haley at the same time?

Yes, there will be consequences. The world of High School Revenge is supposed to be a "living" one, where any action has consequences and the world moves with or without you. So yeah, something will happen to MC if they romance both Cecily and Haley and they don't do their best to keep it a secret.

I have a question about my little pookie Marcus; if you seduce some of the main antagonists just to get your revenge will he have issues or will he get it? Maybe spoilers but if you did get very very messy about your revenge would any of the cast be willing to forgive in future or once you burn your bridges are they will and truly burnt?

Marcus would 100% get it. But he won't be very happy if your romance of Isaac or Michael is a bit too wholesome.

When it comes to forgiveness for your actions, it depends on the revenge you went through with and the target we're talking about. But yes, some would likely forgive under the right circumstances.

What would the RO's reactions have been if the Incident had actually ended up killing/crippling the MC?

To tell you the truth, I think the only ones who would act a lot different would be Dylan and Olivia. And Dylan more than Olivia. Maybe Isaac would be even worse, but otherwise not really a lot of changes in their horrible behavior.

I dunno if this was already answered but I’m curious if Conner’s route is straight locked? But I’m assuming (judging by some of the options that he MIGHT be into guys?) that there’s more planned on that? or him exploring his sexuality in the case the MC is male or AMAB?

Connor is playersexual. But if you're a guy, it will be a bit more work where he'll have to explore his sexuality, yes.

After the Tragedy, was mc depressed/suicidal? If yes, do they currently feel that way? I ask bc I don't think there's a single line of text about them feeling happy in the whole demo, other than the prologue.

Yes, MC was and likely still is depressed. But they're in deep, deep denial, especially with the whole revenge plot that's more of a distraction than anything. But that's just my view; it's really the choice of the player how they handle the MC's reaction to the Tragedy. Maybe a bit of spoilers, but MC can have panic attacks that the player can't control. Otherwise, they can act however they want mentally. There's also a hidden sanity stat that will decide a bit more what the MC's state of mind will be as the game progresses.

Are all the characters bi?

Yes. But some (Dylan, Connor, Cecily, Vivian) have a perceived sexuality that will make it harder to get through to them.

Not yet, my dear Vivi-mancer. Patience, she's gonna be worth it.

Can we get "the bro" ending? Where in the quest of vengeance, after knowing the targets, MC will soon realize that he doesn't want vengeance anymore, and what they only truly wanted was to get even. And when things are over, MC and Isaac will be the bestest of friends and ruin each others' and other peoples' lives🤣🤣🤣Also, can we stop Haley from smoking when we get deeper to her romance? I don't want my baby girl to have lung cancer please!

There's a "bro" ending with Isaac. Well, really, it's more of a "soul mates" ending, but you can take it as a "bros" ending. But it's not necessarily a happy ending for everyone. Isaac's not a guy who can be your bro and also keep your friendship with all the other characters.

Haley's vices are a bit... hard to control. But you can surely try!

Let's say, in an alternative world, MC did not manage to beat depression and instead became swallowed by it, and later committed suicide. Will mom avenge us , and is she going to become more terrifying than MC in her quest for vengeance?

I think mom would likely just... take the same route as the MC. Because without MC alive, her life doesn't really make sense. Yeah, she's one of those moms, if you didn't notice from her obsession with keeping track of what MC is doing.

I understand if this isn't a concern because of scope, but there will be explorations of a MC that only transitioned because of their revenge? I play such a MC and I love the call out that they are out of their mind. I also wonder if being trans will bring the tactical advantage of people expecting the creep to be of the same gender they were as children, which will allow us to remain hidden

Trans MC has a huge advantage at staying hidden. And the MC's mind concerning their thoughts about the transition will be explored more when ROs learn who they were. There will also be conversations about it with the allies, if you decided to recruit them.

around what chapter does the michael / vivian routes actually start???

I was thinking Chapter 6. I might start putting in the seeds that will lead to their routes in Chapter 5, but you won't see any hints of real romance in Chapter 5.

how many characters do we get to beat up in this story?

This is a very specific question that I can't answer. I can say that there can be a fistfight with Michael and/or Isaac. And you can win them.

Would I lose out on anything SUPER important by not recruiting one of the three spies? Or can I still find the info on my own? I'd imagine it depends on the route/hobby with how much you can get solo..?

They can get you info you could never get yourself, and they also simplify a lot of the info-gathering process. If you'd like to learn as much as possible about all ROs, you're supposed to get allies. But you'll risk progressing the "getting caught" plots a lot quicker if you get them by your side. Especially one of them, which I'm not gonna name, and it's going to be an amazing plot.

What side story / different pov would you like to see from chapter 4? (Poll)

So, happy new year everyone! I've started work on chapter 5 today and got some pretty interesting things started, but I'd also like to get some work done on the side stories part.

With chapter 4 out, there's a bunch of stuff that happened and a lot of people requesting different povs and whatnot from the events. Here's a poll where I'd like you guys to suggest and/or vote which povs or side stories you'd like to hear relating to chapter 4 that wouldn't spoil too much of what's to come. Besides maybe showing the pov of some of the ros I don't really have many ideas, so I'd really like to know what you guys want to know more about!

Monthly Progress Update - Dec 2025

Hello! Merry Christmas / happy holidays! Back again with another monthly update. I’ve spent most of the month fixing bugs and optimizing stats, while also taking in all the feedback you’ve been sending.

That said, since this is probably the last update I’ll do to the public demo for a good while, I decided to finally finish it off properly. Yes, for the people who saw the teasers, you can now sleep with two of the ROs at the end of Chapter 4! The WIP warning is completely gone from the demo. Writing intimate scenes can be a bit weird, so if anything feels off, reads awkward, or just straight-up doesn’t make sense, please mention it so I can improve them.

Anyway, 2026 is going to be all about Chapter 5. I’ve already set up the files and the chapter title, so it looks like Halloween is coming for the people in High School Revenge. I’ve taken the feedback to heart, and one of the first things I’ll tackle is finally moving things forward on the answers front too. I’ve stalled long enough on that plotline. Next year, you’ll all finally find out why Dylan and Olivia did what they did. And hopefully it’ll be as interesting as I’ve been imagining it.
