So far being with Matt wasn’t at all horrible. Not that she pictured this night to be a complete disaster; the actress was very cautious though. She always preferred to be safe rather than sorry later. The more time these two would spend together, slowly she would uncover a little piece of herself to him, in the aspect of him truly seeing her for who she was. Being in the spot light a lot of the time these days due to Twitter among with the films she had coming out and had come out, the actress had to learn how to defend herself to cruel people out there, and how to just not let anything ever truly phase her. With work, there was times when people believed her to be a real bitch, but once she let other’s in, she was never ever truly one with them. With Matt, she knew letting him see her softer side was so bad – however, she was sure she’d be letting him see just how nice she could be with time, of course. Once she completely felt comfortable.
Starting in the new year, Anna was going to have to start watching what she ate, not because she liked it but because being in tip-top shape for a film like Pitch Perfect was mandatory. With all the running around and singing she had to do with the rest of the ladies was most definitely hard work, so for now, she was going to enjoy her freedom to enjoy as much junk food. Besides who could ever truly be on a said diet during the holiday season?! It’s like all of that just goes out the damn window once November hits or well when Halloween hits, really. That’s just how it was for Anna anyway, the last three months for her, meant more freedom when it came to food. So she was glad she was going to be sharing this burrito night with a new friend.
Not being able to hold in her laugh, she burst out laughing and slowly toning it down; it was great being able to tease him this way. Somehow though she knew what he meant. It felt like they weren’t strangers at all because of how well they just got on with each other from the beginning. “Before you know it though, we’ll be the best of friends and you’ll never get rid of me.” She said with a nod, as she scrunched up her nose in mid sentence. When he next spoke, it sort of took her by surprise that he wasn’t completely opposed to sharing hos body heat with her, it sort of made the butterflies in the pit of her stomach flutter. Did he mean it or was he just trying to be a gentleman? “Mmmm.” She said, blue eyes glancing at him with a brow raised. Since you won’t mind….I might just need some of your body heat.” Trying to hide in sign of just how nervous her own response made her, her eyes were back on the road in front of her. Nodding in agreement, the warm air slowly and gently hit her face, causing her to smile in relief. If he made her blush, she could easily blame her redness to the heat hitting her face. “I’m not at all ready for the Christmas. If there’s anything anyone should know about me, it’s that I’m a procrastinator, so you know how that goes.” With a giggle she said. “What about you though? Are you ready to brace all things that come with Christmas?!”
Anna was fun - and Matt liked fun. The one thing about this line of work was the sheer amount of people who took themselves way too seriously (at least by his calculations). His tendency to see the lighter side of things occasionally got him in trouble but not much beyond a bit of a glare from cast and crew when he went to far with an onset prank or something. For the most part, he’d surrounded himself, whether intentionally or by total luck, with people who also appreciated the value of a good laugh. Mostly, it just meant that people didn’t take him seriously even when he was trying to be and for all his goofing around and making jokes or pulling pranks, Matt did have a another side to his personality. One look at his Twitter or Instagram made the dichotomy of these two sides blatantly obvious - on one hand, there were plenty of silly selfies and ridiculous videos of him and his friends. On the other, his feed was full of serious and healthy information sharing and debate about some of the issues that mattered most to Matt. He liked to think this made him interesting, but his Twitter mentions were a constant reminder that not everyone appreciated his way of being.
Once the holidays were over and he was due to be back on set, he’d be forced like nearly everyone else he knew, to start thinking about what he put in his mouth more often again, but right now he was in holiday mode, which generally meant he didn’t give a shit if it was good for him or not, if he wanted it, he’d eat it. It might mean a little extra time at the gym after the New Year but that wasn’t anything he wasn’t accustomed to anyway, so it wasn’t hard to fathom getting back into a healthy routine. Maybe he’d even try to talk his mom into trying out this whole deep fried turkey thing this year, really go it - if you’re going to go in, you may as well go all in and Matt was nothing if not dedicated to whatever it was he’d decided to do.
Matt didn’t not get along with many people, he could usually at least of a civil and polite conversation, even with someone who was completely opposite of him. That said, it was rare when some came around that instantly felt like they’d always kind of been there. He and Anna had just met, but he felt relaxed and at ease around here right off the bat, something that didn’t happen a whole lot. “What?” he groaned jokingly, rolling his eyes for a little added effect “Damn it, I was already trying to figure out how I could lose you!” he gave her a sideways smirk so she knew he was absolutely kidding - quite the opposite actually, he was even more eager now than he had been to get to know her a little more. “You can have some whenever you feel the need, just don’t steal all of it or we’ll both be freezing!” His eyes remained on the road in front of him but as she talked, he couldn’t help a few side glances in her direction. He chuckled at her response and shook his head “I’m never ready for all things Christmas” he admitted. “I love this time of year but it doesn’t seem to matter how prepared I try to be, it always seems overwhelming.” he answered, pulling the car into a parking space outside the nearest Chipotle. “ Are you going back home for the holidays or sticking around here?” he asked as he climbed out, gesturing for her to hold tight while he went around to the other side to open her door.
