Hello yall. Just popping in to let you know I am still alive and still wanna do more episodes beyond just season 1-3 of the rai english dub. Got a new job, and then covid happened, and then a little quarantine depression happened, and then I went back to work happened, and basically life happened. I've got a buddy coming back into town from uni this winter break and we're gonna hang out a lot since we'll be working at the same job together while she's back. maybe I'll torture her and make her watch seasons 1-3 of the 4kids dub with me to react to next, who knows? Hey friends, sorry for the radio silence. I work management in retail so the holidays are always a bit chaotic and I don't get a lot of down-time to do stuff like binge more Winx. I do plan to continue on with other dubs and seasons, but right now I'm in the middle of trying to find a new job so I can finally be free from retail hell, my 21st bday is next week, and my boss is currently on a medical leave so I'm having to be temp boss at the same time. Hope y'all had happy Winter celebrations and I'll see you all probably in February!

Season 4 and the second movie are really good actually

I realize this might be a Hot Take™ but if you held a knife to my throat and told me to describe any aspect of the show as “good” or “quality” i might tell you to just kill me… That being said, I still fucking ride and die for Winx Club because limiting ourselves to only enjoying “quality” content by someone else’s standards is a very small brain thing to do, and most kids (my younger self included) just honestly don’t give a fuck and just want to watch some pretty girls in sparkly outfits do cutesy things. That is both Valid and Okay

I am also clowning all day every day and people are Extremely Okay to disagree with me on any and/or all of my posts. You love what you love, you ain’t gotta fight me on anything.. you are Valid and Okay in your own opinions. You don’t owe anyone a defense

However, I cannot in any way, shape or form get back the years of my life sucked out of me by the aggressive Littlest Petshop merchandising gimmicks rampant throughout most of season 4… truly a grave sin not easily forgiven..

I agree that the pet thing forced in Season 4 wasn’t great, but I liked Season 4 - it had the last good season for decent world building and was the last time the Winx and Specialists seemed grown up. I felt like I was watching some YA sci-fi drama from the late 2000s this season, and I liked it. Nothing else could capture this sort of vibe in other Winx seasons. It was also great that Alfea and the Trix for fucking once were afterthoughts.
