venus paused, tapping her finger against her chin as she pretended to ponder upon his question. “hmm…nah,” she started, shaking her head slightly. after a few seconds, a grin split across her face once again and she laughed. “i’m only kidding– of course we can. just tell me when and where and i’ll be there.”

------- almost as if he was actually scared that venus meant her no; keanu took the liberty to grip his shirt where his heart was. “ oh my god. ” frowning, the boy shook of that fake sadness & changed his frown upside down. “ well where do you want to go ? ice cream ? the movies ? ”

“for a second i did feel like writing a letter or something just so your mom would let me, but now, man,” he chuckled. “i’ve realized it’s good that you allowed me to. sounds perfect! bye bye quantinia, hello hakalo, right?”

------ “ yeah ! hakalo is correct. it’s a beautiful island that you’ll either love or hate to be honest. ” keanu nodded with a smile & a quick chuckle. “ so your from quantinia ? tell me about it, yeah ? ”

“who says you need an excuse to hang out with me? you could’ve just said ”hey venus, wanna hang out?“ and i would have been like, ”sure, keanu! sounds fun!“ and it would have been just as easy.”

“definitely not. animals make any place quite more interesting. better having a wild fauna than architecture. plus, tons of shiny objects? i might just move there.”

“not necessarily into rocks, but shiny objects. those i do like.” he admitted, playing with the big emerald in his hand. “i would like going to the beach though. haven’t been to one in ages.”

------- “ i don’t mind taking you to my home as long as you don’t mind a lot of animals around. there’s a bunch of shiny objects around. ”

“good.” the brunette nodded, a content smile replacing her grin momentarily. “you’re just an overgrown puppy, aren’t you? playing protector from things that go bump in the night. that’s cute.” she poked his side, laughter bubbling from her lips. “i’m a big girl, keanu. i can take care of myself–” she held up her hands as if to say scouts honor. “–promise. no need for you to stay up all night.”

------- keanu had rolled his eyes, chuckling a bit more as venus pocked at his sides. “ okay, okay. you can protect yourself. i should’ve known better. -- but now i don’t have an excuses to hang out with you. ”

“it’s called the haunting in connecticut or something. it was terrifying, don’t watch it.” venus raised her eyebrows, placing her hands on her prominent hips.“my hero,” she crooned, silver eyes gleaming with amusement as she grinned. “you’d really do that for little ol’ me?”

------- “ alright, alright. i won’t watch it then at all. so you don’t have to worry about a single thing. ” keanu said with a little chuckle at the end of his words. after that though he nodded his head. “ of course. i think we’re good friends so i don’t mind staying up to protect you. ”

“yo, i don’t know about you, but whoever thought that making a movie about some haunted house in connecticut needs to go and lock themself in a closet. that movie was terrifying, and i have no idea how i’m going to be able to sleep.”
