Not the best quality, but this is the "castle" (church) light up at night in Lusk. These photos do not do it justice, it's honestly breathtaking at night

This weekend we are staying in Galway. Last night we were in Letterfrack and this morning we went to the Connamara National Park and climbed most of the Diamond mountain, as they were working on the top bit. On our travels we seen lots of the beautiful country side, in both rain and sun shine. We are currently staying in the nicest hostel I've been to, Savoy Hostel which I highly recommend. Unfortunately as it is January and not tourist season many places are shut down so we are limited as to what we can do, but we are seeing many great places and making many memories. Tomorrow we are off to the Aran Islands! Chels
More photos!! We visited Cork this past weekend and met up with my friend Katja! We spent a day in Kinsale and visited Charles Fort! Finally we went to Blarney and visited the castle to kiss the Blarney stone!! :O See ya later! Nikole
Hi there! First post from Nikole here. A few photos from the farm first! We made our first meal last week: fajitas! They enjoyed them :) One of our favorite pup, Holly! We made it to Dublin last weekend, visited the Dublin Castle and the Guinness Storehouse. The last photo is from the gravity bar at the storehouse. You can see the Wicklow mountains in the background. Tata for now! Nikole
First weekend in Ireland
Nikole and I had a very busy weekend. Friday we finished work early and went into Skerries for dinner then went to a very nice pub. The city of Skerries is surrounded by the ocean on two sides, it is quite a site in both day light and at night. Saturday we ventured into Dublin. We visited Trinity collage, beautiful buildings on campus there. Then we walked down to Temple Bar. This very kind woman thought we may have been lost so she walked us the rest of the way and showed us where the Temple Bar market and cinema were. The market was nice and smelled so good, but neither of us bought anything. The lady parted ways from us, it was so nice to just chat with her even. We then discovered Dublin Castle, we took a self guided tour. The castle was huge and quite lovely, I hope to see more castles. Finally we made it to the Guinness storehouse, once again we took the self guided tour and each level we got to taste some Guinness if we wished. Up at the gravity bar we each had a free drink (pint of Guinness for me) and just took in the scene, you could look down on most of Dublin from there. Sunday we went back to Skerries for a walk on the beach with the boys and Pat (whom we are all staying with). It was a bit chilly, but very nice. Nikole and I later went into Lusk to go see the large church (we call it a castle). The key holder was very kind but couldn't let us in as there is maintained underway. We looked around outside and took it all in. She told us to try again before we leave. I hope to get some pictures posted later, Chels
The view of the farm from the front patio. Today was such a beautiful green sunny day. Our first day on the farm we started out by picking greens (salad they call it here). Their salad they pick are sold to a small cafe about 10 miles away from the farm. We went to town to drop it off and the owner was so kind and gave us a hot beverage for free! (Thing I learned today, it’s rude to place money on the counter when paying) then we went to help some of our hosts friends move. It was fun, and they really appreciated the help. It always feels good to help others out I find.
It’s funny one of the hosts boys finds it just crazy that we went and helped these people out without being paid hahaha he is so young. We got a tour of the small town, there are two beaches that surround it there, and it looks very cold.
Back on the farm we had to feed the sheep hay. Well, nikole and I got to learn to drive the tractor, which is a lot easier than I thought it would have been. Finally we biked into town to get some supplies, and leap cards so we can get around!!
Oh yes I should mention, last night it was very windy (almost as bad as when hurricane Arthur came through eastern canada) they said that that was normal!! The whole place we stayed in shook like crazy. It was a bit hard to sleep through as we are not used to it yet, but I imagine with time we will.
Hopefully I’ll have more pictures to post another time. Till next time,
Chels
I realize now the picture is sideways, I apologize for that
Arrival
Finally made it to ireland. Nikole and I had some hiccups along the way but Lloyd is fine. We were up and traveling for 24 hrs with no sleep, we had a 9 hrs layover in Boston where we spent time playing crib which was enjoyable and we people watched and watched the planes come in and out. It was so warm upon our arrival in Dublin I was wearing a tank top, to be fair I was also not feeling the best. We are not residing in a small town just outside of Lusk. Gotta go for now Chels
Beginning
Tomorrow Nikole and I are driving to Halifax for the night. Our flight leaves early the next morning and we are both so excited to get a start to our big adventure. We’ve spent the weekend packing, gathering our important documents and visiting our loved ones. We are getting so much support and excitement from everyone we have talked to and I hope to share not only some of our memories through this blog, but as well as everything we have learned.
Till next time,
Chels
