Wild Birds World

That striking bird is a [**Razorbill**] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razorbill) (*Alca torda*), also known as a lesser auk.

It has a highly distinctive, thick, vertically flattened black bill marked by a bright white line. A second thin white line also extends from its eyes to the base of the beak during breeding season.

While they look a bit like penguins (and walk just as clumsily on land), they are actually excellent flyers. When diving for fish, they "fly" underwater, reaching depths of over 100 meters (330 feet)
