Yes, the magnum opus of our fandom. And the craziest part is that Mack has never reacted with that same intensity to any other teammate, before or since. Cherny’s horrific accident comes to mind for comparison. That’s not to say he doesn’t care about his other teammates, he would stand up for all of them, but Will’s safety is clearly top priority.

His hands were literally shaking. His voice was trembling. He visibly reacted when people in the locker room mentioned Smity. Then he tried to downplay the retaliation by claiming he was just backing Eky up, who was already skating away at that point, which just makes it more obvious that he realized how much he’d overreacted in the moment.
