CAMBRIE REED / THE ENCHANTRESS
She continued to back them away from the festivities, into the darkness of the forest. Her hand still tight around the dark haired woman’s wrist. There was pressure building in her skull, and her eyes were selling up but she knew they weren’t tears in the mortal sense. These were a condition to her powers the power she didn’t have proper control over, the one she feared that she’d live in fear of her whole life. Cambrie prided herself on control, she worked hard for it, did the unspeakable to obtain, fought with herself and her own inhibitions. She played a game that only she properly understood and left everyone to their own devices and yet. Here she was, a mortal nonetheless here to fuck everything she worked for up to the high heavens.
Perhaps she would kill her.
“I’m not letting you go till you fucking explain everything to me. Who are you, your name is Raven. No point denying it. Look at me. Look.” she shook the woman violently, sharply tugging at her wrist in an upwards motion. “Look at my eyes darling, do you see that. Do you want me to give you some hints. It’s red, thick, doesn’t normally come from your eyes and if I was to rip open your throat right now it would spill out and onto the floor, maybe. I wouldn’t even need to rip out your throat I could will it out of you. You’re doing something right now. It wouldn’t even be that hard for me to do it whilst you’re doing whatever it is you are right now. So start talking Raven.”
It was as if the ground had been taken from below her and Raven had been left to fend for herself against gravity. Raven felt a sharp pain emanating from her wrist; it was red and it felt like it was being crushed beneath the woman’s grip and yet, the human’s mind was completely wrapped up around something else: the woman’s face. Red tears, bloody tears. Her eyebrows furrowed, her lips were parted and Raven was at a loss. With the little energy that she could feel within her, Raven’s body didn’t even acknowledge the pain. Instead, her confusion had taken the reigns. What the hell is happening, Raven began thinking, and what the hell is she talking about?
Before she could even do or say anything, or even think about anything else, she felt the other tug on her wrist, pulling it upwards, causing the brunette to let out a sharp breath and a groan of pain. That’s going to leave a mark. Raven felt like a dead weight; it was as if her body was ready to go to sleep and her mind was still wide awake ---- though she felt like it wouldn’t be for long. She felt helpless. A deputy, trained to be better than this, rendered useless by a rough wrist grab.
Raven’s mind didn’t even register the other’s threatening words. It was unable to. Everything was happening all at once, her body was weak and her mind was overwhelmed ---- a bad combination. With her free hand, Raven tried to pry the other’s fingers open, trying to get her wrist away from the crushing grip. “I’m ----” Raven began and right away, she needed to catch her breath, “Fuck you,” was the first thing that left her mouth after she gathered enough energy. “I’m not doing anything! Now let me go!” The girl said, struggling to even move her wrist. Her fingers had grown numb and she could feel herself wanting to pass out.
