"Of course... and if you had experienced things that I saw, you'd probably believe in the supernatural as well.

There is too much that science can't explain. Are some things completely fake. Absolutely. But how do you expect to be able to say that everything is fake? You couldn't positively prove that. Obviously you are allowed to believe in, whatever you want to believe in.

But there are things out there and they won't care if you believe in them or not, when you meet them. You are either prepared, you rely on your luck or you die.

It's as simple as that."

"No, not really." He shrugged lightly. "I can't decide. They all have such unique and still collectively parallel ways to unfold, it's hard to chose. Of course I love Japanese folklore, but I also know and like to combine things from other cultures... they are all so specific it is really, really hard to chose, I couldn't even encompass all of them."

"My mother.... used to tell me of a spirit that seemed to have a firm history in her ancestry... she always told me about the "Kamikiri", the fright of all the females in our family.

Her mother and grandmother told her before, that all the girls that misbehaved in the family, had to suffer from the unfortunate happenstance of a ghost seeking them out and cutting their hair at night. They performed a great show about the worse the transgression had been, the balder the poor girls had become."

"And when I used to act up, it was a little joke of hers to tell me very dramatically, that I definitely had gotten her hair from the DNA pool."

❌ Flaws

Ryou didn't really look at his partner in talk, silent. In fact, forcing himself to be unaware that he had company, who listened in on the soliloquy he was preparing to let out.

Sadly he had agreed to this game beforehand.

"... being rash, too trusting, too inattentive, too self-absorbed."

He halted for a moment, rattling the list that was ever present in his head down, like he was sitting in his vocabulary oral exam.

"Selfish, unprincipled, a liar-"

He had almost eluded into himself too much and added "not good enough ever" but ultimately fell silent. This was a game of sharing. He wasn't required to pour out his soul and share all his flaws, or what he conceived as his flaws. He was sure there were a lot more, he wasn't yet aware off.

"Can I ask the next question?" He hummed quietly, smiling at the person across from him lightly. His spirits didn't soar highly around this topic. He blamed himself for far too much.

But the other one didn't need to be aware of HOW much.

It was physically obvious, how much Ryou tried to reign himself in upon being asked this question. He knew sometimes those things ran away from him and talking too much about oneself was simply rude, but the excitement streamed through his veins like a sugar rush.

"Well, uhm..." He took a low, yet deep breath.

"I - I do like all kinds of games! It's fun to play with others... and when nobody is available, I usually just immerse myself in building game boards and games, myself."

He smiled at the other, palms flatly pressed against each other right in front of his chest as if to physically hold back his feelings. "And uh... I like ghost stories... paranormal things that are hard or not at all able to be explained. Sometimes I combine both of those... and make scary game boards or horror stories."

He looked up and seemed to be slightly nervous.

"Which some people don't feel comfortable with..." The tone lingered between them, as if he wanted to dispel any confrontation with such an unfortunate, uncomfortable thought.

"I've... also been cooking and baking for some time and that can be fun, too." The finishing sentence came out a tiny bit meager and he shrugged awkwardly. "I'm... not that interesting..."
