Basically I tried to make it about the same as the other two trios Brawlywood trio and Startoons
Where Brawlywood are all different kind of movies (at least to me) (also the level of stardom didn’t think of it someone else did and I think it’s interesting and accurate Lola - famous Gray - indie Mico - nobody) not even the colors are the same if we have yellow star Lola eyes then the only unifying color is yellow (and it’s all in their eyes too it’s so interesting, Lola star pupils Micos glasses and Grays sclera)
As for Startoons they have similar color palettes which is white and black all throughout their bodies (they better do the same for third member or else) all different kinds of cartoons
In Cinemas I tried to have them have each different kind of movie and protagonist as well and similar colors and attire (or I tried to lmao) I want to make em unique while still trying to keep the simple designs factor bc that’s still part of the charm of them like… it’s so Funni thinking about Starr park lore and then these three are the most normal mfs ever
^ extra: aka I’m weird and over think about designs idk I just enjoyed thinking about brawlers designs sm esp how the color works and details (like Starrcades x or all the same icon like Sushi’s trio sushi logo) body types like how different Frank and Melodie and Emz are compared to others or how similar body types are like Ziggys and Mortis (both chopped btw) as well as Mina’s and Melos being similar how there’s a time where Blue red and Yellow color palettes keep showing up and being about the same esp for its same purpose that it annoyed me basically I want to study brawl stars designs under a microscope)
For colors I want Fang to have Red Blue Yellow while Maisie Orange Green Purple and Buster having the rainbow likeeee Fang and Maisie being opposites while Buster is a balance of the two
Also for Fang jacket bc Colts a redhead and purple jacket while Fang is dark purple ish hair and red jacket 👀 (listen I must do it) and Fang would take it off during battles I want to give fang a prominent red color instead
For protagonist Fangs like the karate kid type of Protag but it also it reflects on their personality Fang is still a bit of an ego but also still has to learn a lot (basically a combo of their earlier or release personality and when Fang was Deku and having insecurities that they have to push through) to get what they wanted
Buster action movies good hearted protagonist brave and caring I sadly don’t have as much ideas for him nor know how to combine concept art to his current self but that means that hes already perfect and doesn’t need much changes lmao (nah im just coping- ill think of smth at some point maybe)
I saw somebody saying that perhaps Maisie is meant to be girlboss and the thing about that… is that it’s hard to differentiate that with the other girls who are also girlbosses esp when they don’t show their flaws as often it’s hard for me
So I changed that and made her more tech or sci fi bc it reflects Maisie more who’s logical and smart but also yearns for the action and danger she’s gonna have fire arm tattoo bc I said so also my most fav design (i think i might change her hair tho)
Similarities Glasses, Boom related stuff (Busters shirt, Fangs Star on their jacket, Maisies fire tattoo) gloves and popcorn anddd that’s it lmao
Last two designs would be Starrcade (I have some ideas but idk how to execute them) and Max trio (I have no idea what I’ll be doing for em so maybe there’ll be none at all) also 50/50 chance of Edgar and Janet touch ups
Edgar I have some ideas for to make him look chopped and 16
As for Janet the main reason why 50/50 bc like… idk she seems teen to me she’s just mature also there’s some mature looking teens and idk Janet feels like that to me maybe I’ll do smth with her model or make her look a bit like my body shape but idk she seems fine by me
Also no I’m not making Meg look older she’s gonna have a condition that she looks younger
Like listen as much as sometimes brawl stars have bad representation but I don’t see a reason why they wouldn’t make younger looking adults my god and idk why ppl refuse to see them as adults it’s also just personal for me bc def when im older i would look young to a lot of ppl (and ig it already started Im also Asian too so when ppl see Fang as teen due to their features… oh im mad RLLY wanna tear ppl-)
They might come later after drawing the new brawlers I’m just taking a break rn bc I don’t have drawing power (motivation)

Everything about Fangs debut. Animation, splash art + thoughts
Splash art
The splash art was drawn by the artist, J. Hwan (daver0714 on Xitter). They shared early the drawing process, featuring a few scrapped sketches.
You could notice Fang seems to look feminine in some of those sketches. According to the artist, it was due to them mistaking Fang as a girl from the character concepts/turnarounds; Theres misconception going around this info, but although, confirmed by artist, Fang was always a male character in any known developing stages. (guess hes just that androgynous lol; but gender confusion aside, I believe the version of fang with glasses and a braid got to be his earliest design, since it was still in development at the same time with additional debut content, which I'll discuss a bit further+)
The video process also features pixelated turnaround of Fang (and of the Year of the Tiger skins), which seem to ever so slightly differ from what was shown in the 2023 TTE podcast, showcasing brawlers concepts released since Season 9.
+Those slight diffrences prove again, what Fangs character design was still in development at the same time, as the splash art and his debut animation were in production; You can also notice it with Fangs hairtie being red in early concepts (pixelated one), in his debut animation and The Year of the Tiger splash art, while in finalised design (ingame model and later on content) its yellow.
