Just Snake and Florence in their regular clothes and also switch clothes.
This is just for fun, sort of playing the joke that they look like each other. It's also something that could happen and the gang asked Florence for some help with a heist (nothing bad! Just both Florence and Snake switch clothes and have make up on to look alike and all she does is distract while the gang does the heist.) (This could also take place after the events of the first film.)
its been *insanely* hot this past week and ive feel like a melting gloop person so i drew the good guys club chillin in the pool to cope (+ alt versions and sketch) đĽđđđď¸
So why did Serpentina steal Penny (besides making her a prodigy)? And would Serpentina still warn Florence about Ripper and tell her to get out if the city?
It's ok!
The two posts/asks (Meet Ripper and Why Warn Florence) are still cannon/would still happen.
Explanation down below!
Serpentina would have found out when following the gang when the gang visited Florence and the twins at the hospital. (Serpentina would have thought that Florence wasn't married and was just letting the bloodline live on. (Serpentina wouldn't have seen Shawn or Jamie during the time.))
After the gang left and sometime later, Serpentina would have visited the twins (probably in the room when there was no one else in there or the nursery). She would look at both Penny and Maddie to see which one was more Snake. She picked Penny and quickly left with her.
Serpentina stole Penny to make her a prodigy and have a restart with raising the next bloodline. (Along with possibly teaching the ways of the Serpent.)
Serpentina would have still warn Florence about Ripper and that leave the city. Serpeina would still care about Florence and doesn't want her hurt but also doesn't want any information that Florence does have to lead Ripper to find Serpentina (and Penny).
Remember, Ripper is a bounty hunter/vigilante. If Ripper find Serpentina, she will also find Penny. (Ripper would probably have her bots scan Penny to see if there's any information and then see that Penny is a missing.)
Serpentina would not want that too happen. So she would still warn her. Serpentina would be very surprised when finding out that Florence is married and have a stepson.
Penelope "Penny" Scaleson is the youngest twin when both Penny and Maddie were born. (She was also a bit of a surprise.)
When she was a few days old and was in the hospital (with both Maddie and Florence), she got kidnapped...
For five years, she was raised by her kidnapper, Serpentina...
Penny was Serpentina's prodigy. Her "restart" to raise...
Up until something happened and they were found on the beach.
Penny was checked and see if she was ok before was taken to the police station, where Shawn and Florence would be called and head over to show that they found her.
When Shawn and Florence meet Penny at the station, Penny quickly hugged Florence and called her "mom" (since she would have seen photos of a younger Florence, so she would recognize her from the photos). Both Shawn and Florence would be very happy and emotional that they have her back as they hug her.
Jamie and Maddie would meet her too. Jamie would be happy and emotional since he does remember her. Maddie would be in like a bit of awe (and may have some confusing feelings as well).
It would have been a big adjustment after everything the Scalesons had been through the year. (Timeline: Penny being found would take place a about five-six months after the funeral.)
But they were able to make it work as they adjust and they're happy family.

May 25th, 1923, a few days laterÂ
The wedding was rather what she expected from a crime lord, it took place at a reserved ballroom.
The decorations filled with lights, flowers all over the dining room were set. The music was gorgeous.
The guests are filled with people from Wolf's Mafia circle but there's not even a sign of either a couple or few are from her family at the moment.
It was before the ceremony, everyone was chatting, some were drinking some alcohol, and talking about the wedding.
Â
Apparently Wolf had made some arrangements.
The good thing was he did invite her parents as he promised.
In the ladies' dressing room, Diane wore an old but updated snow white Victorian wedding dress that once belonged to Wolfâs mother.
It was adjusted a bit, to make sure that it fit Diane and make sure that she could move around in it without tripping. But with the added diamond patterns, there would probably be some gold lacing scattered across the helm of the dress, a pair of custommade golden color shoes for her, and a long veil covering her face and muzzle.
As she looked in the mirror, Diane thought, âWell, old and new together is⌠good⌠Itâs so⌠perfectâŚâ She smiled a bit sadly as was comforting herself.
The female staff in the room with her, waiting and helping with the last bit of Dianeâs look for the big day, with some earrings while the other adjusted the veil.
âOh, donât you look lovely as a flower, Mrs. Wol-! I mean Ms. Foxington.â Bella said, smiling softly at Diane.
Diane heard it and remembered that her maiden name would change. She would be leaving behind her original surname, âFoxington,â for âWolfâ.
Unless she had discussed it earlier with him. About keeping her surname and identity.
Diane began to snap out of it and she didn't want to worry about the last name.
Then there was a knock on the door, which fully got Diane out of her head. She looked over as one of the ladies walked over and opened the door.
It was Shark, Webs, and a few guards.
âHello. Someone's here to see the bride before the ceremony.â Shark said.
âAnd whoâs here to visit?â Diane asked, curious whoâs visiting her.
âItâs Mr and Mrs Foxington.â Shark said, stepping to the side to show Margaret and Owen.
âHey, Diane.â Both parents said.
Dianeâs eyes widened when seeing her parents, who were given access to see her by some guards and Webs.
They are wearing their finest outfits.
Margaret was in a beautiful ocean blue long dress with a pair of matching sapphire heels, along with her beautiful golden necklace and earrings.
Owen was in a strapping black and red suit, black dress shoes, and rose-shaped cufflinks.
âYou ladies may leave now, let the bride have her momentâŚâ one of the guards said to the ladies while one of the other guards turned to Margaret and Owen, informing, âYou got 4 minutes.â
The ladies nodded and left the room with the guards
Owen and Margaret entered the room before Shark shut the door.
Diane quickly got out of her seat, standing up as she stared at them for a moment before tearing up. âMom! Dad!â Diane exclaimed, running and hugging her parents tightly.
Owen and Margaret hugged Diane close tight.
âThank God, our baby girl! I thought we would never see or hear from you again, but here we are.â Margaret said tearfully.
Diane felt tears coming to her eyes. âI missed you both so much.â
âAnd look at you in your wedding gown, you look beautifulâŚâ Margaret said.
Diane looked at herself before looking at her parents again. âThanksâŚâ she paused sadly.
Both her parents were concerned about their daughter and the situation they're in. Now they did keep their house and they are safe but they couldn't think of their daughter being taken away by a mafia to save them months ago.
âDianeâŚ.â Owen said, reaching out and holding her hand. âWe know you were trying to protect us like we did for you⌠Iâm so sorry⌠Weâre so sorry that we couldnât help youâŚâ
âFatherâŚâ Diane started, gently rubbing his hand. âI know, but you did nothing wrong-â
âNo⌠If wasn't-â
âDonât worry, Iâll be ok.â Diane reassured Owen and Margaret. âI will find a way. I'm just going to stay on his good side for now, but once the time is right, the three of us will get out of here⌠I promiseâŚâÂ
Diane hugged her parents again and they hugged her back. But then someone knocked on the door and the door to the room swung open.Â
The familyâs attention looked at the doorway to see that there was no one at the doorway⌠But then they noticed that there was someone on the door.
It was Webs.
âItâs time.â she said to them.
Her parents looked at Diane one last timeÂ
âSee you at the aisle.â Margaret said to Diane, kissing Diane on the forehead and helping put the veil over Dianeâs before leaving with Owen.
Diane sighed softly and picked up her bouquet before looking at Webs.
âYou look beautiful.â Webs said, smiling at her.
âThank you.â Diane said, walking over to her.
âDo you want me to keep you company and walk you down the aisle?â She offered.
Diane nodded and offered her arm to her. âYes, pleaseâŚâ
Webs crawled to her left shoulder.
Diane chuckled softly and then left the room with Webs, heading to the ceremony.
â
The ceremony began as guests took their seats. Dianeâs parents sat on the right with some guards. Wolfâs friends from the crime ring sat on the left.
Diane looked down the aisle, waiting for the bride. The room was nearly full.
Wolf wore a black suit with a red handkerchief in his suit coat pocket. Clearly, he was fixing his outfit out of a little nervousness.
Diane stared at him for a moment before looking away and took a deep breath, calming herself down.
âWell, this isâŚâ said Diane as she took a deep breath as she started to walk down the aisle with the bouquet and Webs.
Everyone watched her walk down the aisle.
She faked a small smile as she made her way down. When Diane got to the end of the aisle, Webs jumped off of her shoulder and landed on the bench next to .
As she made it to the arch, Wolf took her hand/paw giving her a step up. âYou look beautiful." Wolf said softly to her as she got to the altar.
Diane just looked at her bouquet though her veil, not wanting to look up to Wolf as the officiant came up to the altar and started to speak.
âDear friends and family, we are here today to witness Mason Wolf and Diane Foxington make their vows and commit to each other in holy matrimony...â The Officiant continued as Wolf noticed Diane was looking at her bouquet.
Wolf got the Officiantâs attention and whispered, âCould we skip the vows and get to the I dos then the rings?âÂ
The Officiant nodded. âMay we have the rings, please?â
Piranha, who is the ring barrier, brought in the pillow with their respective rings.
They were given the rings.Â
Dianeâs ring from Wolfâs family. It was a beautiful rose gold color and there was a beautiful ruby on top with some additional sapphires and pink quartz. It had once belonged to Wolfâs mother.
Wolfâs ring was a beautiful bronze ring with a gold-toned dolphin with embellished blue and clear jewels in it in the middle.
The Officiant looked at Wolf. âDo you, Mason Wolf, take Diane Foxington as your wedded wife, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do you part?â
âI do.â Wolf said, nodding.
Then the Officiant turned to Diane. âAnd do you, Diane Foxington, take Mason Wolf as your wedded husband, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?â
âI⌠I do.â Diane said a bit hesitantly.Â
The Officiant smiled softly and then looked at the crowd and the couple. âWith the power invested in me, by the state of California, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.â
Wolf lifted the veil, smiling softly at her as Diane glanced at him before closing her eyes. Diane shed a tear as she let Wolf tilt her head with his paw and then kissed her to seal the marriageâŚÂ
Some guests cheered, while others stayed quiet. Dianeâs parents cried quietly, knowing the marriage was part of a deal involving life or death.
Wolf began to wipe her tears away and whispered something in her ear, âDonât worry. Everything will be ok.â
âWhatâŚ?â Diane mouthed, confused but stayed strong.
â
As guests walked to the wedding reception, Diane and Wolf went outside for a photo in the garden.
Diane held her bouquet while the photographer set up the camera. When everything was ready, they posed as the photographer lifted the flash lamp. Wolf smiled a little, but Diane found it hard to smile when the photographer snapped the picture.
After the picture was taken, Diane walked upstairs and entered the reception hall. She wanted something refreshing to drink. She mumbled to herself, "I need a drink..."Â
Just as she was about to step inside, Wolf gently called out to her, stopping her with a warm gaze.Â
"What about a dance? As husband and wife?"
Diane paused and turned to stare at Wolf, unsure.
âListen, I noticed the mood of⌠the ceremony⌠so maybe we could dance?â
Diane wouldn't mind a dance if it can help her keep her mind busy as she shrugged and then nodded. âWe⌠can danceâŚâ
Wolf went inside to join Diane and the others at the reception.
â
At the reception, everyone was having conversations but Owen just stared at Wolf, his new son-in-law.
âOwen, youâre staring.â Margaret whispered to her husband.
Owen looked at his wife and then sighed. âIâm just upset-!â Owen started, sounding angry, but then he stopped and took in a breath, trying to calm down. âIâll be fineâŚâ
Owen got a thought as he looked at Wolf and Diane as they headed to the dance floor.Â
Margaret noticed the look. âYou have something on your mind.â she whispered to him. âWhat is it?â
âMaybe I can see if I can⌠talk with himâŚâ he says under his breath, looking at his wife.
â
Diane was dancing to the waltz with Wolf. But it didn't sound joyful to her ears, only slow and sad.
Daine just looked at the floor as they danced.
Diane did love the waltz; itâs one of her favorite dances, but she hadnât danced with a partner before, let alone now, married to one of the most notorious mafia leaders in all of Los Angeles.
Wolf noticed that she didnât look happy.
âYou alright?â Wolf asked.
Diane didnât respond; she was distancing herself in her mind, imagining that she was somewhere elseâŚ
Wolf began to place his paw on her tufts, then her cheek, which got Dianeâs attention and startled her a bit.
She was quiet as she looked at him.
âAre you ok, Diane?â Wolf asked, sounding concerned.
The fox just stared at him.
âDo you want to go out to get some air?â
Diane stares at him. âI donât know⌠no?â
But Wolf can tell something is wrong. Then he noticed the balcony doors, getting an idea.
âHey, I know I have been a lot⌠I think itâll be nice to have fresh air.â he suggested
Diane was surprised but accepted it. âI think I'd like that.â she nodded. âBesides, the party was starting to feel boring, anywayâŚâ
Wolf nodded and told one of the guards of his excuse and began to take Diane outside.
Diane felt like she could breathe when they were outside.
âFresh air⌠isnât much better than the reception?â the wolf asked, looking at the fox.
âYeahâŚâ Daine managed to say, nodding again. Then some memories came to her which made her chuckled softly, âYou know I used to sneak out of those stuffy and boring parties to be in and be alone in the nature of the woods nearby without any interruptions in, sure those parties can be fun at times but⌠itâs a lotâŚ"
âReallyâŚ?â Wolf asked, chuckling.Â
âYep.â Diane laughed. âHeh!⌠What about you?â
âMine was similar but expected that it was to get awayâŚâ Wolf started but then trailed off. âBut after I was 12⌠I couldnât do it anymoreâŚâ
âWhy?â
âI⌠I was of age and had to be responsibleâŚâ Wolf answered, looking down.
Diane nodded, understood it but noticed that it didnât add up and felt that there was more underneath it.
Wolf wanted to say more but stopped himself and sighed quietly, âWe can stay out for a bit, if you want.â
Diane nodded.Â
They looked at the night sky for a bit, itâs pretty beautiful with the stars bright in the clear sky.
âWolf, would this be the last time that I see and talk to my parentsâŚ?â Diane asked, breaking the silence.
Wolf looked at his wife, who looked a bit sad. âI⌠Iâll have to think about it.â
âOkâŚâÂ
Wolf sighed and looked down, rubbing the back of his neck. He knows that he needs to explain. He looked at Diane as he was about to speak but stopped when noticing that Diane looked calmer and happy as she looked at the stars.
Wolf couldnât help but smile softly, enjoying the moment. He looked at the stars as well.
At one point, Diane sighed and asked, âWolf⌠now that weâre married⌠is my life over?â
âWhat do you mean?â
âI heard once you're married to your husband, the life you knew is over and youâre justâŚsomeoneâs wife, cut off from her family and identity as you once knew is goneâŚjust his wife and takes care of everything like a servant, maid, nurse, motherâŚâ Diane explained, sadly. She felt like she was spiraling as she continued, âYou just rot away while your husband just smiles and livesâŚor even has a mistress if they fail at their womanly duties or spoke her mind-!â
âDiane!âŚâ Wolf interrupted, gently holding Dianeâs hand.Â
The fox stopped spiraling and got back into the moment, looking at her held hand before looking at the wolf.
âListen⌠I would never treat you like an object or a servant or anything like that.â
âWhat about with Marmalade and forcing me to stay in the manor?â
âLook⌠I am sorry about⌠all of that⌠I know Marmalade better than you know him. I just wanted to make sure you were safe.â
âWhy is that?â
âItâs just⌠at first, you only knew him for about half a day a few weeks ago while Iâve known him for about 18 years, since my father wanted me to know who are friends and enemies.â
âAnd heâs your enemy?â Diane guessed.
Wolf nodded. âHeâs been trying to get me to âget over our differencesâ and be friends with him so we work togetherÂ
but I know the truth about him⌠On the outside, heâs the type who is a generous, promising leader of the wealthy elite, but on the outside, aside from his mafia status, he's unpredictable and will do anything to hurt peopleâŚ"
âHurt people?â Diane repeated before letting out a short laugh, âHow?â
âYep⌠I donât knowâŚâ Wolf answered, looking down as he started to remember something. âbut Iâve seen the aftermath after many people he had dropped off, far away from any help⌠the person either lost a few limbs or diedâŚ"
Diane was in for a surprise and was horrified by what she learned. Then a question came to her and she needed to ask. âIs⌠is there anything I could do, if I run into him or his people?â
"Run⌠FightâŚâ Wolf said, looking at her as he came back to the present moment. âYou can fight off the best you can to slow them down and then run. Just get to safety."
Diane nodded, feeling like she had learned enough. âCould we talk about something else? Please?â she begged, looking at Wolf.
Wolf nodded. âSure. We can talk about anything else.â
âWhat do you think of me?â Diane asked âSince youâve said that you wouldnât treat me like an object or a servant or anything like that. What do you see in me?â
âAbout you?â Wolf asked before starting to think for a moment. "Well, you see, at first I thought you were head strong, a bit stubborn, and spoke what was on your mind.â Wolf said with a chuckle.Â
âReally?â Diane chuckled.
Wolf nodded and chucked.
He then looked at the stars then he sighed and started to explain; âI know that we have struggled in the past when we first met but I want to make up with you.â
âHow? How can you make it up to me?â Diane asked, her tone changed and her eyes narrowed as she looked at him.
âWe can start by⌠â Wolf started, trying to think. âMaking sure we can trust each other?âŚâ
âHow?!â
âMaybe⌠let you have some freedom back ⌠and let you visit your family, probably once a week.â Wolf sighed, looking down
âOnce a week?â Diane repeated.
âWant to make it once every two weeks?â Wolf asked, snapping his head to her.
Diane quickly raised her hand to him and corrected herself, âNo! No. No⌠Once a week is fine⌠weekends would work. But what about telephone calls?â
âThe telephone? Oh, yes! Right! That you might call them everyday, if you like. Except!⌠For the 1st day of DecemberâŚâ
âUm⌠Why?â Diane asked, confused.
âItâs⌠personal, alright?â Wolf said, looking back down.Â
Diane slowly nodded. âAlrightâŚâ
Then Wolf quickly shook and held his ears for a moment before taking in some breaths.
âWolf?â Diane asked, concerned.Â
She reaches out and touches his shoulder, making him jump, which startles her.
The newlyweds stared at each other.
âAre you ok?â Diane askedÂ
âIâm fineâŚâ Wolf answered âLetâs go back insideâŚâ
âOh⌠um, ok.â
Wolf and Diane headed back inside
â
A couple of hours later, the wedding reception was coming to an end, Wolf and Diane talked with some of the guests as Owen went to Wolf.
âWe need to talk.â Owen said quietly to Wolf.
Diane looked at Wolf and her father, curious and worried.
Wolf noticed Dianeâs curiosity and worry. âYou head to the limo, I'll be right there.â Wolf reassured her.
Diane nodded and went outside to wait for Wolf, starting to overhear the conversation. She looked behind as she listened.
Wolf sighed and looked at Owen. âLook, Mr. Foxington, I know we've gone off the wrong foot but-â
Owen raised his hand to make him stop talking. âWe more than get off on the wrong foot.â he said, glaring at him.
Wolf just looked at Owen, wondering what he wanted to talk about.
âNow I know youâre a mafia boss, but if you EVER hurt Diane or put her in ANY danger, I SWEAR to god I will report you to the police and take our daughter far away from you and your people!â Owen warned, growling and pointing at the wolf.
Wolf was surprised by Owen's stern warning but remained calm and smiled. âI understand,â he said, nodding. âIâll make sure your daughter is safe and will not hurt her.â
Owen smiled and nodded. He started to turn around and try to find Margaret but was quickly stopped by Wolf grabbing his shoulder, turning him back around to face him.
âBut⌠since youâve given me a warning and youâve threatened to call the officers⌠I will give you a warning, OwenâŚâ Wolf started to warn, his voice starting to go cold. âIf officers are called on for no reason and the tip was from either you or any acquaintance of yours, I will make Diane disappear where no one, except me, will find her in this world⌠Do I make myself clear?â
Owen stared at Wolf in fear. âYou would kill her?â
Wolf looked a bit taken back by that, almost froze but shook his head. âNo⌠Not that⌠if you do that stunt, no one else in the public will see her again. You and your wife wonât see her ever again⌠IF you pull or plan that stuntâŚâ he stopped and took a deep breath to calm down. âDo I make myself clear?â
Owen slowly nodded. âI⌠I understandâŚâ
Dianeâs eyes widened in fear after what she overheard.
As Wolf was about to turn around, Diane quickly rushes to the limo before she can be seen by Wolf.
Diane was able to get into the limo and tried to calm herself down. But she nearly tripped and ripped her dress when trying to get into her seat, falling face first into the seat.Â
Diane got up and looked to see the rip, making her sigh before she started to get herself situated when Wolf opened the door to see her on both seats.
"What happened?â Wolf asked, looking down at her.
Diane shot Wolf a look. âI tripped and the dress ripped. But Iâm getting into my seat.â Diane said, getting herself into her seat.
Wolf stared down at her before getting himself in the limo.
Wolf looked at the rip of the dress when he was seated.
It was a small rip.
âHm. Iâll see if Shark can fix it.â Wolf said as the limo started to drive home.
On the drive home, Diane looked out the window as she played with her tail.
At one point, she thought she saw a shadow silhouette of a young boy. Someone who looked familiarâŚ
âThomas?â she thought it was him, but he was gone before she could have a good look at him.
âYou ok?â Wolf asked, looking at Diane.
The fox looked at the wolf as she breathed confused, âYes⌠Just thought I saw somethingâŚ"Â
âlater that nightâ
Diane and Wolf came back home after the wedding.
The staff seem to be asleep after the wedding, making the place too quiet.
The official newlyweds were silent when they got to their bedroom.
It was quiet when Wolf closed the door.
Diane had a little shiver go down her spine. âAre⌠are you planning anything with me for tonight?â Diane asked Wolf, getting the dress off surprisingly well. âI mean we just got married-â
Wolf looked at Diane for a moment, starting, âUm⌠Yeah, just⌠umâŚâ
Diane looked at Wolf, seeing that he was now blush red. âAre you okay?â she asked, concerned. She tossed her wedding dress on the floor and took off her heels, now just wearing her corset and underwear.
âItâs been a long night,â Wolf said as he loosened his tie and took off his coat. âLet's just get ready for bed.â
âOh, ok. Alright.â Diane said, nodding.
It seemed that the pajamas were already laid out for them on the bed for the wedding night by the maids.
They didn't even notice when they just got back.
Diane was changed to a red dark blue nightgown made of Chinese silk.
It is kind of special for a wedding night.
âThis feels differentâŚâ Diane commented after changing into her nightgown, looking at her nightgown.
âIt's kind of a tradition for each newlywed in this manor asÂ
a sort of comfort for⌠a big adjustment." Wolf explained as he changed into his nightgown.
Diane hummed and went into the bathroom to clean her teeth before she started to brush whole soft fur.
Wolf got his fur brushed and cleaned his teeth.
After they get their furs brushed and teeth cleaned, Wolf and Diane head to bed (no pillow wall thankfully).Â
Diane was about to tuck herself into bed when Wolf looked at her.
Diane stares at Wolf for a moment after they get into the bed, unsure, before laying down, turning to her side and trying to fall asleep.
She was finally starting to get to sleep as Wolf was about to lay down.
The wolf couldnât help but smile softly at the fox. âGood night, Diane.â Wolf said as he gently kissed her cheek.
"Good night." Diane mumbled, not waking up to see him as he turned off the lights and laid down.
â
Diane woke up some time later and couldn't fall asleep again at the moment. She noticed Wolf was out of bed, so she stayed still to make it look like she was asleep on her side.
Instead she looked at the wedding ring on her finger. âThis is it, Diane⌠youâre now married and nowâŚâ Diane thought as she counted to look at her wedding ring before looking at Wolf. âWhat will my new surname be for me? Mrs. Wolf? Or- â Diane sighed and stared at the ceiling. âYouâre fine⌠youâll find a way out⌠You always find a way out of a situation.â she thought, calming herself down.Â
But her mind was wandering as she tried to fall asleep. She couldnât fully rest and she woke up again, sighing and staring at the ceiling. âMaybe a walk could helpâŚâ the fox thought.
She got out of bed, stuffed her side with pillows, put on a soft robe and sneaked away from the room without noticing that Wolf was awake.
â
Diane walked around the halls with lamp light, trying to clear her mind.Â
She walked by the private library at one point, getting her attention.Â
âMaybe some reading would be nice.â the fox thought as she went inside the library. She got the dairy she saved a few days ago, on the same shelf.
Diane went to the couch and started to reread some pages of the journal again.

Dear diary,
I must confess, Iâm nervous about having this baby. I donât know if Iâm going to be a good mother to my babyâŚ
I hope Iâll be a good mother to my baby but my thoughts keep clouding meâŚ
Iâm not going to be writing much because I started to feel pain.
But like I said before, being tricked to wed a mafia boss isn't bad enough but I don't think of anything, right now I'm waiting two more weeks until the child arrives.Â
Diane could see how much the woman was worried about the baby, thatâs why maybe Wolf came to the world early.
She went back a few pages to the page that talks about the wedding night.
February 14th, 1891
Dear Diary,
Two days ago was the wedding day.
The guests were only Vinâs family and associates and none of my family from the orphanage.Â
I tried to escape the night before but was caught and I was trapped until the wedding was over.Â
It was a chance I wanted to take, even though I have nothingâŚ
At the reception, he told me that now that I'm his property.
In the bedroom, I told him not to do it, but he grabbed me and forced himself on me. I cried and whimpered throughout the night. He was nothing but vile, not like the man I dated in the first place.
âOh⌠wait? Orphan?â Diane thought before then she turned the pages she missed from before.
June 12th, 1887
Hello! My name is Lilith Wolfford, I just turned 17 2 days ago and my lover, Vicnet gave this diary as a gift!
Let me tell you about myself, I used to be from a poor but a fairly well-off family., my dear father , Jacob Wolfford, was an Arctic Wolf and a great framer, and my dear mother, Isabella Loboz, was a Mexican wolf who loved her culture and home and was great at painting.
At least until my family was shot by hunters when I was 6 years oldâŚ
There was an early photograph taken around the 1870s of Lilith and her family before she became an orphan. She looked 4 years old and barefooted in this photo, sitting on the lap of her mother and her father standing with a pickfork on the other paw and one next to his wife and daughter. Â
But thatâs in the past now and itâs important to look at the now.
Iâm happy for this gift Vin gave me , something I can write down my thoughts or to draw in.Â
I want to write down the most important and minor moments in life. So as I write more, you get to know me more and my life. So I will keep you to date.
Diane hummed softly after reading the beginning of Lillthâs diary.
Then she closed the diary and started to think. 'Why didn't Wolf tell me about his parents?' she thought, holding it close to herself as she got up to put it away before she left the library. âHe probably didnât know or somethingâŚâ
â
Wolf was out of bed, not feeling terrific, and was now in his home office.Â
He was told earlier, from Webs, that some information was found on Johnstone.
The little secret the man had.
Wolf looked into Johnstoneâs file when Webs and Snake came in with a new report. âDid you get it?â Wolf asked, looking up from the file and looking at the two.
âYes, we did.â Webs said, nodding as Snake hands the reports to Wolf.
Thereâs papers and letters in the report.
Snake and Webs went on an information gathering mission and within four days before the wedding, they handed Wolf the report.
No artifacts among mister Joseph Johnstone's belongings hinted that he'd ever had a son. Webs theorised the man was in the habit of burning all evidence, but she did find an unburnt paper piece amidst the fireplace ash with a mail collection box number. Having located the post box, Snake made short work of the lock and they found the letters.
Wolf slit the first one open with a letter opener, unfolded the paper and read the message clearly written by a child's hand:
Dear Papa,
School is going good. I got all the questions right on my math test!
Miss Carter gave me a gold star. It looks like this:*
Underneath, the boy had done his best to draw the reward.
I hope you come visit soon. I miss you lots.
Love, Â
Thomas
Lowering the letter, Wolf closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath before opening the ones remaining, one by one. More short everyday stories about life at a boarding school, some saying things such as, "Will ma ever be okay again?". They were also getting increasingly desperate and the very last letter hit him like a punch in the guts.
Papa,
Why won't you write me back?
I keep checking the mailbox every day.
Did I do something wrong???
Please answer!!!
-Thomas
"Johnstone enrolled the boy using his wife's maiden name. Walker." Snake said slowly, watching the Wolf's stony expression.
"But he's run away," Webs added. "His dorm mother found the bed empty and the window open. That was two weeks ago and no one's seen or heard from the kid since."
"Thank youâŚ" Wolf said, eyes still on the final letter. "You both may goâŚ"
Snake and Webs looked at each other and then looked at Wolf before leaving the office, leaving Wolf alone.Â
â
Then Diane looked at time and noticed that it was getting a bit late. âMaybe some exploring before going to bed would be nice.â she thought as she began exploring the halls a bit before she went to bed.
Diane noticed the big door where the Forbidden room was, there was a big Victorian door as she couldnât get her eyes off of it since she first saw it. But she started to feel tired because she didnât want to explore the room.
Diane was heading back to the bedroom but then she noticed the office room with the lights on.
She stopped and went downstairs to get to the door, curious. She put the lamp down and began to knock on it, waiting for a moment.
She was about to leave when the door opened.
âDiane?â
Diane paused and looked over to see Wolf at the open office door. He was not in bed like she thought earlier.
They stared at each other for a moment.
âWhat are you doing up?â Wolf asked.
âI was going to ask you the same thing.â Diane said, turning around to face him. âI was in the library, reading until I felt sleepy. About you?â
âI was looking over some files.â
âWhat files?â Diane asked, tilting her head a bit to the side.
âEh-just work filesâŚâ Wolf answered, shrugging it off.
Diane hummed and nodded. âHmâŚâÂ
âWant to head to bed?â
âYes. Letâs get to bed.â
â
As they walked back to the room, Wolf asked, âWhat did you read?â
Diane thought for a moment and replied, âI read âThe Yellow Wallpaperâ by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.â
âOh? Whatâs it about?â he asked.
âItâs about a woman who is locked in a room as treatment for her hysteria. She canât work, read, or write. She becomes obsessed with the wallpaper, and itâs sad to see her lose her mindâŚâ she explained a bit sadly.Â
She knew it may be or may NOT be in Wolfâs library, but she thought of the closest color to light green, and yellow and remembered the book that she owned back home. But the cover was similar to the journal that she could remember, so this was something she could also like Lillthâs journal.
âIt is sadâŚâ Wolf hummed, sadly.
âHow did you get that copy?â she asked.
Wolf shrugged. âIt may have been in the library for a while.âÂ
âGuess we both have interests in books. Along with not feeling too sleepy on this wedding night, huh?â Diane asked as they walked to their room.
Wolf nodded. âYep.â
As they got close to the bedroom, Diane tried to stay awake but yawned and rested her head on his shoulder, starting to feel like she was falling asleep. Apparently, she was getting really tired tonight after reading at the library.
The next thing she knew was Wolf carefully picked her up and carried her to their room.
âHm?â Diane looked at Wolf, tiredly.
âIâm just trying to help get you to bed without scaring you⌠I can pick you up and you go to sleep, okay?âÂ
Diane stared at Wolf, trying to fight sleep but sleep was taking over her.
Wolf didnât notice that the door was opened a bit when he left but now noticed when coming back.
He was able to open the door fully by gently kicking it open.
They entered the bedroom.Â
Diane was asleep with her robe slowly loose as Wolf placed her and tucked her into bed.
Wolf smiled softly and went to close the door before heading to his side of the bed, getting himself ready to sleep.
