king arthur and queen mera 🔱
Not bad for an imbecile, huh? Not bad at all. Aquaman (2018) dir. James Wan

You must defeat Orm. And what if I can’t? Last time, he was in his element. This time, make him fight in yours.
Listen, it worked for Pinocchio. Who?

- Will you marry me, Mera? - I want to, with all my heart. - Then nothing else matters.

Sometimes you have to do what’s right, even if your heart aches against it.
Look inside the bottle for the charted path.
We need water. You’re the closest source.

“ I think you can handle things from here. “

Mera nodded once. The depths she would be diving to were not easy for anyone save her people to get to without specialized equipment. “I can raise the vessel to the surface easily, but I will need to concentrate to keep it there,” she said. “If you would assist once the vessel reaches the surface things will go far smoother.”
owracle:
“ Oh, I do apologize Your Majesty, I would bend a knee but…” She just shrugged although she was getting a little frustrated. She heard about the temper of the Queen of Atlantis and she haven’t foresee that it would match her own when she finally meets her. “ Didn’t it occur to you that what I was suggesting was maybe for your own good? Probably not, am I right? Funny how you are so aware of the ignorance running through the surface people yet you are being ignorant of the consequences your action might bring? Or maybe you do know and you just don’t care.”
Barbara just shook her head, letting out an exasperated sigh. It was definitely a bad idea to speak like that to a queen but technically, she is not her queen. Barbara probably also needs to stop watching Game of Thrones. She had to remind herself what she knew about the queen, she was a good person, that’s why she is the queen and Arthur who was pure at heart, married her. “ Oh, I do understand. I know you wanted to help and your heart is in the right place. But this isn’t Atlantis, things run differently here and I do agree, the Sokovia Accords is a stupid ordinance but it is what it is. It makes our job way harder than it was but we have a way around it. If you can’t deal with that then maybe, you should go back to the ocean. Again, that wasn’t command, just a suggestion. “
She had her hand on her wheels, ready to go as she didn’t think that anything she would say wouldn’t fly through her head. After all, she was a queen and she was just a mere commoner. Why would she listen to her? The following words was the last straw that she had to stop what she was about to do and gave the queen an incredulous look. “ Seriously? These people may be stupid and awful but they are innocent. You can just…” He took a deep breath, cooling herself down. “ Fine, go off, I guess. But I agree, it would be best to go our separate ways. Now, if you let me, Your Majesty, I’d like to be dismissed. “ She turned her chin up, jaw clenched as she try to keep her temper at bay while waiting for her to drop the bubble around her. She felt a lump on her throat and the only way to make her feel better is to she talk—or rant—to Dinah or Dick to keep her grounded.
Mera almost laughed. In Xebel people didn’t kneel to their monarchs. It was a nod and a hand across their chests. Kneeling underwater only happened when a person was chained and forced to the ground. The woman’s intentions weren’t lost on Mera, but the woman’s grasp of the situation had been limited to the view of her people.
“Make your suggestion to Arthur, I am here because he is,” she said. The arguments and discussions the two of them engaged in were none of this woman’s business. Mera would be telling him about what happened today. Maybe he would understand, maybe he wouldn’t. As long as it didn’t add to the burdens already on his shoulders. He knew how she was and had never asked her to be otherwise.
“You are the one that needed rid of them,” she snapped. “I suppose innocent means something far different from what I thought as well.” In her mind innocent people didn’t attack others because of their own fear. Nobody had to run from an innocent person.
Mera didn’t bother learning the woman’s name, she supposed Arthur would know so it didn’t much matter. She bent her knees and leaped through the dome of hard water that parted enough to let her through it. As she rose high into the air, Mera looked down. The lashing tentacles outside of the dome were keeping the crowds attention nothing more than that. When she got outside of her radius of influence the tentacles and dome were once again in their usual state. Gravity took hold and the water splashed down.
She smiled lightly then had to maneuver herself as she had become subject to the same force. Landing gracefully in an alleyway close to where she was staying with Arthur, Mera pulled up the hood of her jacket and tucked her bright red hair under it before stepping out to make her way home.
