BIO
Born and raised in Faerune, Elijah comes from an old, long line of witches on both sides of his family. He was brought up to believe that he could be the best of the best, as he was told he would be taking over their coven when it was time.Â
He left faerune when he turned 18 to join a police academy away from home, wanting to see more of the world besides chaos and magic, this is where he learned that everything isn’t so black and white as he was raised to be but in fact, shades of grey. Elijah becoming his own person with his own opinions and morals never would’ve happened if he hadn’t left.Â
Upon his return to faerune from New York, he settled into life back at home, took the detective job they offered at the police station and has been working for them ever since. He has also adapted his magic for his job, made up new spells to help with every case. It hasn’t been easy.Â
A year ago, his parents decided that they would like to retire and left their coven for Elijah to head up. It’s been a wild ride, not everyone agrees with his views on the Seelie court and this has caused a small uprising to try and get him removed as the head of the coven. It’s not that easy and it’s pretty set in stone. It’s just up to them to either to continue to follow or risk being cast out for good.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
Friends that he grew up with.
His Familiar who’s also his very best friend and confidant.Â
Exes, maybe someone who was once betrothed to him out of duty to their families.
It’s not often October leaves the morgue at the precinct for anything, typically satisfied to run his little crew of examiners out of the prying eyes of the rest of the police force, preferring to be left to his own devices at least until it was time to bring reports around to his coworkers. Today, however, seemed to be one of those rare occasions that he saw fit to leave his proverbial dungeon. He’d at the very least bothered to dress himself properly, plain white dress shirt rolled back to his elbows and a tie around his neck as he puttered around the break room doctoring a cup of coffee. “Fuckin… we’re out of sugar.” He muttered, slamming the cabinet back with a frown. “Great, got a big ol’ glass of bitter pisswater now.” It’s not gonna stop him from drinking it. He glances up as Elijah slips through the break room door, brows creasing slightly.
“Ain’t it a little early for you to be in? I usually don’t see any of you detective types until later.” Granted, he only saw them when they showed up in the morgue, and that was infrequent too, because nobody really liked being around him. “Did you still need the autopsy report on that uh… fuck, what was the name… It’ll come to me.” He muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I got nothin. You want this coffee?” Okay maybe he wasn’t gonna drink it.

....
Elijah heard the commotion before he sees it, all this over no sugar? “You know, some of your co-workers are witches, we can just simply..” He waved his hand over the sugar pot then opened it for October to see that it had been filled up. “Now you don’t need to drink said piss water without sugar.” Elijah just simply smiled then moved to the fridge to take his breakfast out of it while October continued on in the background.Â
“I’ve been in early every day since Anne’s murder. The sooner I get to the bottom of this for her family, the better.” He leaned against a counter, spoon in hand as he ate out of the container with it. “Oh, no thanks. I’ve already had a coffee.”Â
Cassandra recognized the detective, but she wasn’t sure if he recognized her. The only time they’d interacted was when she had a mask and cloak on, using a voice modulating spell to keep her identity a secret while selling blood.Â
She was pretty sure she shouldn’t engage with him, but when he sat next to her at the bar, she felt compelled to say something. It wasn’t like they didn’t know each other outside of their dealings.
“So, the great Elijah Atkins. I’ve heard about you. Coming back to take over your father’s coven and changing things up from the old ways. I’m surprised the older members haven’t kicked you out by now.”
(( @xelijahatkins ))
...
Elijah glanced at Cassandra when she spoke and rolled his eyes little. “They’re free to leave if they disagree with my ways. My father meant well, but he was stuck in his ways. I’m going to change it for good because blood purity is bullshit.” he ordered himself a drink then finally turned towards her. “How have you been? And your sister of course.” While he and Helena often tried to bite each others heads off, Elijah still very deep down cared for her.Â
Jake didn’t really have a reason to be in Elijah’s office, he just had nowhere else to go. He wasn’t feeling particularly motivated to go to work, and it wasn’t like he was really needed there anyway.
“So … is this what you do all day? Sit at a desk with paperwork?” he asked, looking over all the papers on Eli’s desk. “Sounds boring. When do you chase bad guys with a gun?”
(( @xelijahatkins ))
...
“No.” Elijah shook his head then placed a cup of water in front of Jake before sitting himself down on the other side of the desk. “I’ve got a lot of cases to go through, like this board behind me right now. This is my active murder case.” He gestured to it behind him. “A good friend of mine was killed over winter and her family asked me to look into it.” Then he smiled. “What can I do for you, Jake?” He didn’t want to mention the blood while at work.Â
The guy had spent far too long just talking to the bartender. She was just trying to get served and this asshole was talking about shit that wasn’t relevant. “Hey. While I’m sure what you ate for breakfast last Tuesday is so interesting some of us actually want to get served tonight and you’re hogging the bartender who isn’t dealing with a sixteen drink order.” She snapped. “Now please, for the sake of everything unholy, let the man get back to work.” @xelijahatkins
..
Elijah was about to continue his story when he was rudely interrupted by Helena so turned his attention to her. “Excuse me? he asked for the whole story and no one was here when I started to tell him so get your knickers out of that twist.”Â
“Nice to meet you Elijah.” They shook his hand before sitting back too. “I wouldn’t call it exciting by any means but interesting would be a reasonable word for it.” She said, looking around the room. “I’ll give you exciting if something dramatic happens.”
..
“Fair enough, interesting it is.” Elijah watched them looking around the room then laughed a little. “Yeah, my entire job can be exciting on the daily basis so I’d be fine if nothing happened.” He shrugged his shoulders. “So, what do you do?”
She moved in close, tipping her chin to meet his eyes, “I hope you mean that figuratively because I can think of much more fun things to do in a kitchen than keeping an eye on a back burner.”
..
“Yeah? Hm.” Elijah put his hands behind his back, pretending to think about it. “That’s a very convincing argument because I can also think of funnier things to do in a kitchen. Are we thinking about the same thing?”
“Thanks” Marcus said as he hid the pictures, feeling like he could relax a bit now. He thanked him again, this time giving him a nod as well, when he’d returned with a soda. “Anne had some pictures of the two of you” he said after a moment, pulling the tab on the can to open it. “They’re not here, but if you want you could have them - should have them”Â
..
At the mention of pictures, Elijah smiled. “I would love to see them.” He nodded. “I have a few myself of us at Thanksgiving, birthdays and stuff like that back in New York. I miss her all the time.”
“Shit like this… It’s the kind of thing that starts pack wars. I don’t want to have to drag my kids into this. The other pack members know what it can get like but half of my pack have never had to fight a day in their lives because I’ve always kept the peace. The peace my mother fought for.”
Lucas huffed when Eli brought up his ex wife. “Well so did I until Lilith turned round and told me she didn’t want to have kids. Turns out she did want to have kids. It just wasn’t with me.” He slipped his hand into his pockets. “I can’t trust anyone to get close enough to me and she’s got herself a little cookie cutter 2.5 kids in upstate New York in the mortal world.” His ex was always a sore subject. “Honestly I’m pretty sure she just used kids to try and strong arm me into stepping down from my position. Everything changed when she split to form her own coven. After I took over from my mom I couldn’t cater to her Coven’s needs and suddenly I was the bad guy for having something that required a lot of my attention.”
...
Elijah just let Lucas speak, he wasn’t a werewolf so pack wars weren’t his forte. “Yes, our parents tried their best to keep the peace between everyone basically. I have some witches who don’t agree with some of my stances which is fine.” He shrugged. “Not the same of course, but still.”Â
He raised an eyebrow. “It’s been a while since I was in contact with her because once she left the coven to start her own, that was that. I tried to make her stay but she was determined to go.” Elijah wouldn’t force anyone to stay. “She fucked up and isn’t worth it any more. I’m sure you’ll let someone close again in the future.” Â
“Ruby?” Elijah checked out the name tag then smiled and sat himself down with his drink. “You look nice tonight. I’m Elijah.” Then he offered a hand to shake before sitting back and sipped a bit of his drink. “Isn’t this exciting? I haven’t done something like this in a long time and it was speed dating back in New York. It was a good night.” Eli nodded thoughtfully.Â
“Yeah, I know how that is,” Sam admitted. “My familiar thinks I’m too serious and I don’t have enough fun. But, I mean, I practically run this place by myself. I don’t really have time for anything else.” She didn’t make the time, but it wasn’t like she knew very many people to spend time with.
..
“You should you know? Find a little time to have fun. I used to be like that too and it used to annoy my familiar until they had to drag me out to have fun and it worked.” Elijah told her. “Try find even five minutes to put your feet up and grab a cup of coffee.”Â
“Seems to me the fates are playing games, pulling us both back in at the same time.” Sessile loved that he played her game with her, “Elijah, love, you know I’ll always make time for you. What’s your schedule looking like right about,” She checked a non-existent watch, “now?”
...
Elijah laughed a little and actually checked his very real watch before shrugging. “I was going to brew a batch of potions, but I am very happy to put that on the back burner and spend some time with you.”
“That’s how I am with my patients,” Grace admitted. “Especially because many of them have pretty serious issues. I’m always worried that they’re going to do something to hurt themselves. I have to be on alert at all times.”
..
Elijah raised his eyebrows when Grace told him that, not what he had been expecting to hear. “Are you a doctor or?” Was he poking his nose into business that wasn’t his? Probably, but he was curious and that’s how he managed to be very good at his job.
—- len is busying himself with his breakfast, trying to close out the sound of a busy diner around him. it’s cut into when a voice speaks to him directly, and he looks around–then behind him, eyes meeting elijah’s. he blinks owlishly, turning in his booth and props an arm onto it. “if you take a day off work, i probably go about my business like normal,” he teases, though his voice comes out a bit flat.
he shakes his head. “i wouldn’t know. go to the park, maybe? clean your kitchen sink? take a well-deserved nap?” he smiles easily. “i’m a terrible person to ask.”
..
“Eh, I don’t know. I think some of those suggestions are pretty good so don’t sell yourself so short.” Elijah told him with a shake of his head. “A nap kinda sounds nice though, been a long time since I settled down and had a good nap during the day.” He was just talking to himself now but soon snapped out of it and turned back to Len.Â
“Sorry about that.” Elijah shot him a smile. “How are you doing? That breakfast looks nice.” He commented after casting a glance over it.Â
