Basically
*applause*Â
but seriously when did we all start saying âyoâ
I actually have an answer to this. In Ancient Rome they had this holiday called Saturnalia which basically means âsalutations!â And theyâd hold festivals in the streets and stuff and the traditional greeting during these festivals was âio saturnalia!â io being pronounced âyoâ. So io saturnalia means Salutations! so yo means salutations. So to answer your question, we all started saying yo around 497 BC
Okay but after seeing this I started doing it too and itâs amazing how many men Iâve run into bc they expected me to move
Gotta try it
I work (and walk) on a college campus. Iâve lost count of how many men Iâve smacked shoulders with.
Recently, I was standing outside my sonâs classroom waiting to talk to his teacher. I stood on one side of the hallway, not even close to the center. At some point, a man came walking along. I was standing right in his path, but the hallway was empty, so I logically expected him to swerve around me. Instead he kept walking right toward me, got to me, and stopped, as if waiting for me to get out of his way. I didnât; I just smiled politely at him. He finally walked around me, clearly annoyed that I hadnât leapt out of his manly path.
Now Iâm wishing Iâd leapt aside, taken off my jacket and laid it on the floor before him, then bowed deeply and said, âMy Liege!â
I also work at a college campus. I smack shoulders sometimes, but I find that if I stare straight ahead and follow the advice below, people get the heck out of the way.
Honestly this post changed how I carry myself when walking alone in public, or in a situation where Iâm the one leading. People definitely move for the murder gaze.
Confirmed. I once had to rush back inside a convention hall as the con was closing in order to a retrieve a sick friendâs medication, and I didnât understand why people in the crowd were jumping out of my way (literallyâone guy vaulted a table) until I realized I was dressed as the Winter Soldier and doing the Murder Walk because thatâs just how I walk in those boots. I got the meds, got out, and made a mental note.
I repeated the experiment later, wearing the boots but otherwise my usual clothing and mimicking the expression I thought Iâd had at that moment. People parted like I was Charlton Heston.
I now wear that style of boots whenever possible. I recently had a man do a double-take as I walked by and ask me, politely, where I had served because I âlooked like a soldier.â Iâm not current or former military. I was wearing a flowy purple peasant top and looked as un-soldierlike as possible.
Moral of the story: wear comfortable shoes, square your shoulders, and walk like youâve been sent to murder Captain America.
WALK LIKE YOUâVE BEEN SENT TO MURDER CAPTAIN AMERICA
On the left we have the lyrics from Robin Thickeâs Blurred Lines. On the right we rape survivors participating in Project Unbreakable, showing the various things that were said to them by their rapist.

Reblogging until you understand why this song is so vile
You donât understand how many times I keep telling my sister how fucking shitty and horrible this song is and sheâs just like âI donât care I still like itâ nO YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THAT THIS SONG IS HORRIBLE AND I CANT BELIEVE IT WAS SO POPULAR
reblobbin this forever and ever
Well fuck, I didnât know it was that bad.
also take note that Pharell wrote the lyrics for this song
Have you ever thought about how Harry wasted a huge opportunity when he dropped the Resurrection Stone in the Forbidden Forest?
Okay just imagine if he had kept it.
He dies, comes back, defeats VoldemortâŚ
Only now there are over one-hundred people who have died in just The Battle of Hogwarts alone. Not to mention all of those names that were read on the radio throughout the year. (And everyone else who died before then.)
So the Golden Trio gets this ideaâŚ
They quickly spread the word and pretty soon, Harry sets up a room in Hogwarts with nothing in it but a desk and a chair. He sits in the chair behind the desk and calls people into the room one at a time.
Harry insists that the Weasleys be the first to enter. And so George walks in, puffy-eyed but smiling, and asks Harry what the big secret is.
Harry then plops an ordinary pebble into Georgeâs hand.
George is very confused until he hears his name being whispered from behind him. George turns and of course thereâs Fred. And the two twins are able to properly say goodbye to one another.
Harry then allows the entire Weasley family to come in and they all huddle around Fredâs spirit and are able to say goodbye. And of course Mrs. Weasley drags Harry out from behind the desk and he joins the family hug.
Are you crying yet?
Because I am.
But letâs keep going.
Mrs. Weasleyâs hand brushes against the stone and Fabian and Gideon appear to say goodbye to their sister.
After the Weasleys finally leave, Harry brings Dennis in so that he can say goodbye to Colin.
Harry then individually brings in the family member(s) of the unnamed one-hundred students who died during the Battle of Hogwarts.
Harry then brings in Luna so that she can say goodbye to her mother.
He brings in pretty much all of Hogwarts so that they can say goodbye to Cedric.
He brings in Aberforth so that he can say goodbye to Albus and Ariana.
He brings in those who want to say goodbye to Snape.
He brings in Kreacher so that he can say goodbye to Regulus.
He brings in the rest of the house-elves so that they can say goodbye to Dobby.
And when Harry is done letting everyone else say goodbye to their loved ones, he closes his hand around the stone.
The first one to appear is a beautiful white owl who flies over to Harry and allows herself to be affectionately petted.
Then of course the others appear, just as they did in the Forbidden Forest on that fateful night. Harry doesnât talk to them for too long, heâs grown up a lot since the Mirror of Erised, but he is able to make peace with his loved onesâ sacrifices.
And even then, he still keeps the stone.
He doesnât use it again. Not personally, anyway. In fact, he stores it in a dusty box on the mantel in his house. He doesnât use it. But he doesnât forget it, either. Because he needs it for one last task.
And when the boy with the turquoise hair is old enough to understand, Harry gently sits him down and places a stone in his hand.
And Teddy Lupin meets Remus and Nymphadora.
Okay I wasnât crying til that last one

"The story of a boy who became a man... By becoming a bear."
This movie is way too under appreciated in my opinion⌠The fandom is practically non-existentâŚ
And I donât understand why? The plot was fantastic.
All of the characters were lovable.
There was no one that you absolutely could not stand.
The âbad guyâ was actually the main character, Kenai. Which was an interesting twist for Disney.
But by building a bond with this young cub (Koda), and seeing the world through the eyes of a bear, he realized that he (as a man) had been the monster⌠Not bears.
I mean, talk about character developmentâŚ
Koda: Those monsters are really scary⌠Especially with their sticks.
And for me, this scene right here was one of my most emotional Disney moments. You canât even here Kenai telling the actual story⌠But you can see their facial expressions and you can just feel it. You know exactly what heâs saying to Koda.
Kenai: Well, I have a story to tell you.
Koda: Really? Whatâs it about?
Kenai: Well, itâs kind of about a man⌠and kind of about a bear. But mostly, itâs about a monster.
⌠Koda⌠I did something very wrong.
Okay, but on a lighter note?
The animation was incredible.
Amazing.
It was a powerful movie about brotherly love, guidance, and responsibility, and it truly is one of my favorite Disney movies ever.
Not to mention the soundtrack is amazing. You canât go wrong with Phil Collins.
The fandom will never be huge, but the movie definitely deserves more credit. If you havenât watched it, I highly recommend it.
Brother Bear
not to mention itâs one of the few disney films that got a good sequel - brother bear 2 is just as dramatic as the first and is about a woman defying her destiny into marriage!! plus sheâs not sexualised and actually looks realistic!
Omg.
why do all children know the floor is lava game do we all just learn it from older children and inadvertently share it with each other like some natural inevitable cycle why do children discover the floor and the concept of gravity and up and down and suddenly pretend to be afraid of it why do we play with the physical limitations of our worldÂ
This has been explored. Â Apparently there is a thing called Children Culture. Â Some of the skipping songs and jump rope songs we learned as kids have no known origin as ever having been written or performed by adults. Â Some games have no known origins as well. Â Essentially, kids like to tell each other things and pass them around and sometimes if something particularly cool or interesting gets made, the entire school learns it. Â And then those kids teach their siblings or cousins or friends from other schools and they teach their whole school until it becomes a whole mass knowledge thing by all kids and continues to be for years and years.
Itâs conceivable that the lava game is another aspect of kid culture.
I know my kids donât seem to know it and they were pretty separated from other kids growing up.
Confirmed: all children are part of a telepathic cult.
Donât tell me this is real.
it actually is. as someone who dedicated his entire life to making family oriented films for many generations of children filled with magic, love, fantasy, and innocence. of course heâs disgusted with how otaku culture has heavily influenced most, if not all anime.
